About the property

Within walking distance of the mediaeval village of Seillans, Cote D'Azur, France - Peaceful But Not Isolated, 10 Minutes Walk From The Village, Private Parking

Independent from the main house Attractively and comfortably furnished with private outside terrace for summer dining (BBQ supplied). Seillans has a small supermarket with butcher, baker, chemist, newspaper shop for everyday needs and there are weekly open-air markets in the local villages. There are many restaurants to choose from ranging from simple to elegant and priced accordingly. Walking, gliding, cycling, golf, rowing and the beaches and cultural activities of the riviera are within easy reach, or, just chill out by the pool or under the shade of the palm tree. Guests in the studio have use of the garden and unheated pool (when open for the season). Poolside furniture provided. The owners of the property may or may not be in residence in the main house during your stay. It is advisable to have a car in order to visit all the local attractions of the area. The hill villages behind the Riviera, the Gorges de Verdon, Alpes Maritimes and Monaco, St Tropez, Cannes and Nice, and just over the border the markets of Ventimiglia, St. Remo and Bordighera - all these are great for a day out.

About The Owner

My companion and I spend most of our year here in Seillans with our dog Hugo, Border Terrier. We travel to the west of France where my daughter lives and to south Germany where my son and his family live, so we are not always in residence. At the time of writing we have just finished harvesting the olives from the trees in the garden and have collected our oil from the mill in Seillans. Very satisfying to have our own olive oil!

Why The Owner chose Esterel - Fayence

I have lived in this beautiful corner of France for over 25 years having first visited the area in 1970. From then until purchasing our first house in Seillans in 1985 we came every year to the same rental property,just could not do without our "French fix"! Although the surrounding area has changed over the years, with many more facilities, Seillans has remained remarkably unspoilt and the beautiful village "places" with their fountains and restaurants under the plane trees make this a very special village. The close but peaceful proximity of this property to the village makes walking to and from one of the local restaurants on a balmy evening a real pleasure. Seillans is still 'the' place for me and my family and now my adult grandchildren love to come here too with their friends.

What makes this apartment unique

The property is a 5-10 minute walk from the village of Seillans where you will find all daily food requirements, doctor, baker, chemist, dentist etc. It is not remote but is secluded and private.

This house is our principal home and it is furnished with well-loved furniture and artefacts. It is not a 'rental property' as such and I think that makes a difference judging by the number of returning tenants. Over the years I have met some lovely and interesting people who remain in touch, and, in some cases, have helped them buy their own properties here.

Secret summerparadise

This little garden studio is our private paradise. It is surrounded by the hills of Seillans, but in walking distance from Seillans center, a really beautiful small village. We have breakfast and dinner on our terrace and relax at the wonderful pool with view over Seillans.

From here we start our tours to Nice, Antibes, Cannes ... and our hunting for antiques on the " brocantes " of the PACA.

Last but not least the houseowner Linda is lovely, very helpfull and a perfect host. We thank her very much for the two magnificent weeks we had and send love to Rose and Hugo!!!

Cancellation: Please note that there is no refund of DEPOSIT if the holiday is cancelled. If I'm able to resell the cancelled period after full payment, a refund may be made less bank charges incurred by me. Adequate Travel Insurance should cover such an eventuality.

Changeover Day:
Change over day is Saturday but may be flexible during the less busy months of the season. Arrival time normally between 4pm and 6pm (16.00 and 18.00) - departure by 10 am on final day. Studiio to be left clean and tidy, rubbish removed.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: The studio offers a quiet retreat in a pretty provencal garden. Guests have use of the pool all day, although owner may wish to swim also. As it is not heated the pool is usually open from May/June until end September depending on weather conditions. The garden surrounds the house and pool area and to the west of the house there are olive trees on different levels of walled terraces. Outside: Garden of 1 acre with olive trees, palms, figs etc. Private pool 8 x 4 x l.60m deep (no shallow end) with poolside furniture and parasols. The pool is at present unheated. Plenty of parking space. There is a watering system for part of the garden and the grass is cut when necessary. The pool is maintained once a week. Utility Room: Shared washing machine, ironing board and iron in utility room of main house - separate entrance. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels provided for your stay but please bring your own swimming towels. The studio will be prepared for your arrival after 3p.m. Studio to be left clean and tidy and all rubbish removed at end of stay. Departure by 10am on final day. Other: Outside Studio: private south facing terrace with dining table and chairs for 2 - BBQ Off street parking.
