Great gite great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a very warm welcome from Kate and Alan to the gite - a wonderfully restored Roman watch tower. It was great to have a choice of terraces for outside sitting. One raised with a view over the gardens and pool as well as more distance views towards the local town. The second terrace was on the other side of the property looking over an orchard, good for getting out of the sun during the middle of the day. All very pleasant. Inside the kitchen was much larger than in most of the gites we have stayed in. There was also plenty of inside space with a separate lounge room and large dining room. For a two person gite it has acres of space.

We chose the gite as a base for walking and there are several well marked routes close by. These often start in old villages that are worth visiting for atmosphere and their range of restaurants.

We would not hesitate to recommend this gite.

Great little place

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for a weeks house hunting in the area and it was the ideal base for me. Allan and Kate are lovely people and very kindly asked me to the Bastille day celebrations in Roquecor and evening drinks... they are so welcoming and helpful but not imposing in the least. Thanks so much to you both, you have got it just right!

The Watch Tower has been very thoughtfully prepared and tastefully furnished and the gardens and pool are immaculate. Theres loads of room there for a couple and the two terraces are great for sun and shade. All in all 10 out of 10, I would definitely return!

Just perfect

  • 5 of 5

Simply a lovely place to be. Kate and Alan are perfect hosts too; very welcoming though not at all intrusive. The Tower offers very well furnished and fully equipped accommodation with a tranquil and homely ambiance. The grounds around the house, tower and outbuildings are beautifully kept; pleasant and peaceful with a real 'restful garden' feel to the whole property and lovely pool area. The information and advice in Kate's guide book is really helpful and the thoughtful 'welcome pack' of food items was very appreciated.

Cap del Pech seems the perfect place from which to explore the hugely varied and beautiful countryside and surrounding towns and certainly provides the perfect place to which to return. We would absolutely recommend a stay here to everyone and anyone who appreciates rural beauty, history and a who is looking for a perfect French holiday.

Gite Perfection!

  • 5 of 5

A lovely spacious and comfortable Gite owned by charming and helpful Scottish hosts Alan and Kate. Unfortunately we managed to choose a rather unsettled wet and cool week but still much enjoyed the beautiful local countryside, the walks and especially the wine tasting! We would rate this area as one of the best and most attractive parts of France and hope to return to Cap del Peche.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your very generous review, despite the very unseasonal weather, September usually is glorious. I suppose, on the other hand, it does make one go out and about, exploring this lovely part of France. We would be delighted if you were to return, when hopefully, the weather might be hot and sunny. Thanks again, best wishes, Kate and Alan

A little Jem

  • 5 of 5

Had a marvelous weeks stay in Alan & Kate's Tower. There could not be a better positioned place to stay from which to visit the beautiful surrounding countryside. If you follow the recommendations in the Guide Leaflets for Restaurants etc. you cannot go far wrong. Our particular favorite was the Roquantin in Laroque Timbeau.

Now for the accommodation. Could not be bettered. They have thought of everything In fact, there are somethings that we could do with at home.!

When it is hot outside it is lovely and cool inside. Terrace & Balconies on which to sit and have a drink or sunbathe.

All in all a little Jem

From the Owner

At the end of a cul-de-sac, there is no passing traffic and except for tractor noise, and the occasional braying of a neighbouring donkey, there is little to spoil the peace and tranquillity .
