Perfectly! The Finca was absolutely our expectations and also the description. Two separate double bedrooms with bathrooms (plus a single bed and a sofa in the living room), it is perfect for small groups, couples or families. The views of the Tramuntana Mountains is truly breathtaking. The location between Deia and Soller is to make central enough to fresh daily purchases (eg for breakfast), and secluded enough to just enjoy the tranquility. The adjacent footpath it is a perfect for hiking and biking tours.

Filippo and Deia Home Service Team are extremely friendly and professional. A minor problem with the pool was fixed within a few hours.

If you value- WiFi and TV, one should clarify precisely this before departure. For a WLAN USB stick is available but needs to be charged and a computer connection is required. The TV does not worked (for lack of signal in the area?). But that did not bother us. A DVD player is available.

The equipment of the house is simple as for description and "rustic". We did not use the oven because it must first be fired, a great oven for the colder days. Otherwise, BBQ and to the toaster for everything else.

Thanks to Meila and Fillipo for this great holiday.

Wonderful place, we will be back!

  • 5 of 5

My wife, myself, and thirteen year old daughter have just returned from a fantastic holiday in this charming villa. We have had the best holiday and will definitely be returning for more. It has a very traditional style and is perched in the tramuntana mountains in its own large amount of land which has terraces of olive and fruit trees, with the addition of a really nice pool.

The villa is set in its own part of the mountains overlooking the gorgeous area of Soller. This is a really amazing location if you want peace and tranquility, and also within ten mins of Soller. Soller is a great place, a perfect blend of Majorcan culture which caters well for us tourists without losing any of its traditional feel. Wonderful restaurants, markets, bars, shops and people. Beautiful old architecticure within some narrow stunning roads as you get into the centre. This place is a jewel. An old fashioned tram can be taken from here to the port/ beach (10mins away)which is an amazing place, with huge yachts and hundreds of boats at one end and a really nice beach at the other. There are all the shops, bars, and restaraunts you need and although this part is very touristy it isn't like your average resort, no Jimmy men selling fake watches here, It's Classier than that, relaxed, pleasant and pretty much has everything you could want...unless you want seedie and loud drunk people and clubs everywhere.

The villa is well equipped and cared for and we were fortunate to stay there at the same time as the owner. Filipo, and his family were staying in the next villa. They couldn't be nicer and genuinely care you've had a great stay and about the villa, and though I had no problems, I'm sure if I had they would have been sorted immediately by either themselves, or Halina that takes care of the villa, if they weren't there.

The pool is salt water, which I've never been in before so didn't know what to expect. It's not strong salt water like you get in the sea and also has no chlorine so doesn't sting your eyes or leave a nasty taste, it's really pleasant to swim in and has the most amazing views of Soller and the mountains which are breathtaking.

If you want calm, quiet, relaxation, and privacy this villa is for you.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Palma at 30 Kilometres Nearest Ferry : Palma Barcellona Ibiza Valencia at 45 Kilometres Nearest Train : Soller Palma historic train at 10 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Cala Deia at 8 Kilometres Car: necessary

Please be aware that there is no TV signal installed at the house, we like it like that. You will find a small collection of DVD and you can connect computers and USB dongle to the TV.

Coast/Beach: Lluc Alcari rocky beach 10 minute drive +20 minutes beautiful walk. Cala Deia 15 minute drive. Puerto Soller (sandy beach) 15 minute drive, it's ideal for small children and actually quite nice out of season, full of bars and restaurants. It's also worth renting a dinghy in Soller (quite expensive but a real treat) for the day and exploring the local cost going towards Sa Foradada, to the left of the Puerto Soller.

For sandy beaches the other side of the island is best; go to places such as ES TRENC or CAP SES SALINES.

Travel: Palma airport, car hire essential.

Distances: Deia 10 minute drive. Soller 10 minute drive.

Further Details:

Our garden on the up-hill side confines with the ancient camino that joins Deia' and Soller, we are located approximately half way through, with Deia' to your right at 1h:30min and Soller to your left at pretty much the same distance). There is a gate, a key is provided with all the other keys, please ensure that you lock the gate behind you.

From this walk you will be able to join many others: including a lovely downhill walk that takes you from Son Bleda all the way down to the Puerto de Soller through Bens d'Avall and Muleta ( a map is available in the house, please return it at the end of your stay). If you take the camino, on your way towards Deia', we thoroughly recommend you stop over for breakfast or tea at Son Micu - the big old house about 5 minutes walk. It is run by two charming French ladies, who are particularly brilliant with kids. Ours (now aged 14 and 10) have been going for breakfast on their own for years, and it's perfectly safe. Their cakes and quiches are delicious and the view is breathtaking.

On the opposite way, going towards Soller, there is an hotel called Can XORC, again a 5 mins walk. The restaurant is very good, expensive, but it's a lovely place to stop by if you like a luxurious cocktail experience.

Personally though, we think our terrazza at sunset when the surrounding mountains turn red is the best place for an aperitivo.

- For restaurants we suggest CAN ANTUNA (+34 971633068) in Fornalux, it's local mallorquin cuisine, very good meat. If you wish to go higher, instead of turning right into Fornalux continue to drive up into the road toward Pollenca to the MIRADOR DE SES BARQUES, stunning view, best at sunset.

Orient is also a beautiful village, with a great local restaurant.

A trip to the Olivar market in Palma is worth the effort -  great fresh fish, vegetables, meats and great sushi. Or if you want to go on a more hip area go to Mrcado de Santa Catalina.

If you really want to go the full hog, take the Palma train (read after) from Soller to Palma get freshly fished sushi at the market, and back. A great day out.

- Soller market and supermarkets

Saturday is Market Day in Soller: a lovely place to go for both personal and food shopping.

I buy all my natural sponges and olive oil there.

The covered market in Soller, open every day, is the best place to buy fresh food, and also in Soller the "Fet A Soller" is a really delicious ice cream place.

There is s supermarket in Soller, called Eroski, which is good for basics.

- Walks

The island is a paradise for walkers, as mentioned you can access the main walk to Soller / Deia from our land, otherwise if you go to Soller at the Turist Office on the Train Station Square you will receive plenty of information about walking around the island.

From the Owner

The House is located at the top of the Soller Valley, is nestled in a garden of olives trees, close to some of the most beautiful ancient Fincas on this side of the island: Son Morroig, Xeretat, Can Carabaseta, Can Bleda all visible in the distance from the garden. The house is extremely relaxing, quite and private. Villages and beaches are all a 10 minutes car ride. Soller and Deia are both accessible by foot through the ancient walk connected to the property.
