Description

Hawthorn Cottage

Hawthorn Cottage is an old converted stone barn with WiFi and redecorated in Spring 2017. The new porch means that we can take one pet to stay in the large, comfy porch and there is a secluded garden with stream running through. It has a double and single bed in a galleried area over the living space. There is also a bathroom with shower (restricted height). It has a fully fitted kitchen with oven, microwave and fridge freezer. A dining table for four and cosy seating area around a wood burner. There is a TV, DVD and ipod doc, WiFi and lots of local information.

It is set in a peaceful location on the edge of the farm with only the noise of horses, pigs and sheep to wake you in the morning. Outside there is a private garden with two seating areas and a stream running through and plenty of parking. It is only a few minutes walk into the village and Clearwell Castle, where there are two pubs and restaurants and a café at Clearwell Caves. Nearest shops 1.5 miles away in Coleford.

We have two rental properties - The Lodge (sleeps maximum of four adults, one child and one baby) and Hawthorn Cottage (sleeps maximum of three in one bedroom). Both properties were redecorated spring 2017.

***Late availability for The Lodge Tuesday 30th May to Friday 2nd June, 3 nights***

Both properties are self catering with WiFi, fully fitted kitchens, bathrooms, sitting rooms and outdoor verandas and details of local attractions and restaurants are provided. The wooden Lodge has a double and twin bedroom and two bathrooms. It has its own private driveway and garden and is very spacious. No pets allowed.

Our other property, Hawthorn Cottage (sleeps maximum of three in one bedroom) is an open plan converted barn with cosy wood burner and an upstairs gallery with a double and single bed and shower room. Parking and outside dinning by the stream. 1 pet is welcome in Hawthorn Cottage staying in the large porch.

The village of Clearwell lies within a area of outstanding natural beauty and there are 2 public houses, 2 restaurants, a café at the Clearwell Caves, Clearwell Castle, the church of St. Peter, Puzzle Wood and Perrygrove Railway. All well worth a visit!

Linen and Towels are provided. Check in 4pm/Check out 11am. No smoking. 1 pet in Hawthorn Cottage only.

Clearwell sits in an attractive valley adjacent to the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean. The market town of Coleford is only 1.5 mile away where you find all local amenities. Look forward to your visit!!

Situated in the picturesque village of Clearwell, Stank Farm dates back to circa 1700. It is now home to Andrew and Louise Salter and their two children Will, aged 15 and Lily, aged 11 and numerous sheep, pigs, cattle, rabbits, cats, chickens and doves.

Booking Notes:
Booking can be made via email or telephone. A 30% deposit is required to confirm booking by bank transfer. Final payment due 8 weeks before stay. Minimum stay 2 nights. Except peak season, when minimum one week.

Discount for returning guess of 10% off repeat booking.

Changeover Day:
Arrival time is 4pm and departure time is 10am. We are flexible as to the time and day of arrival. Please contact the owner to discuss your requirements.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Hawthorn Cottage is cosy and romantic, and also ideal for a couple with a young child. Again the heating is electric and there is a wood burner with all logs etc provided. Both properties are private and peaceful with only the noise of the horses, sheep and pigs to wake you up in the morning. Outside: Stank Farm has 22 acres of pasture land with horses and sheep grazing. There is direct access to countryside walks with a public footpath passing through the land. Guests are welcome to wander around the farm and help with feeding. Both properties have private outdoor space with table and chairs and parking.

lovely relaxing cottage

Me and my partner where looking for a relaxing few days away, and this cottage offered everything we was looking for,even though it is set in a working farm, its was really quiet set in lovely surroundings and the stream running through the garden was the perfect finishing touch, plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, I would highly recommend puzzlewood and Symonds yat, I would definitely recommend staying at this lovely property and hope to visit again in the future
