Officially licenced and Beautifully furnished, two bedroom, two bathroom, ground floor apartment, with air conditioning/heating and now with wifi and full UK TV. The apartment is fully equipped, child friendly with access to the fantastic shared pool and garden in this small condominium. The apartment is set in the traditional fishing village of Santa Luzia with its cobbled streets, picturesque palm tree lined boulevard beside the river. Santa Luzia is the unspoilt gem of the Algarve, with its renowned restaurants, cafes and bars, friendly people and laid-back way of life. The apartment is a mere 3 minute walk to the many local low-key bars, restaurants, pharmacy, grocery stores, ATM and post office. Santa Luzia, is within the Ria Formosa National Park and the beautiful beaches on the Ilha de Tavira stretch for 14km is easily reached by foot, ferry or tourist train. Buses and taxis go to the beautiful 17th century town of Tavira 5 minutes and you are close to the golf resorts, historical monuments and beaches.

Dont tell anyone....

We usually stay in Tavira but needed a change. The apartment is well presented.

Clean, well equipped apartment. Lovely location, handy to everything. Beautiful pool, not overused, plenty of sunbeds and shades. Pleasant terrace we spent most of our time eating there-beware the ants!

Temp reached the 90's at one point-the pool came into it's own.

Many excellent cafe's/restaurants local and in Tavira.

Best restaurant was Vincents in Santa Luzia.

We dined there 3 times. Best food we have had anywhere - wonderful service-thank you Barbara, surely the best waitress in the Algarve-she was on her own and still managed to serve everyone with charm and skill.

Barril beach on the wee train is a must do

Small local shops are very cheap and have the freshest food/bread/fruit

Please dont tell anyone about this place-we want it all to ourselves.

An wonderful apartment in a charming location

Myself and my parents were lucky enough to stay at this apartment in August 2016 and were absolutely over the moon that we made this choice.

Jonny, the property owner, was a charming host responding swiftly and courteously to our many enquiries (sorry Jonny!! :) ) and the description accurately represents the apartment. It was clean, spacious and a perfect location.

Everything we wanted was provided and Santa Luzia is a charming quite location. The beach is incredibly peaceful with plenty of space and for those wanting something a little more lively Tavira is a 5 minute taxi ride away.

I cannot recommend this apartment enough - we shall most definitely be returning.

Thank you Jonny - we needed a great holiday and your fantastic apartment allowed us to have one.

wonderful apartment in a small complex

We were recommended the apartment by our friends who stay here regularly and said that santa luzia is beautiful quiet idyllicvillage in the eastern algarve. They were right, it's a lovely place and village. the apartment has a king bed, 2 single beds and i assume pull out sofa beds, 2 large bathrooms, 1 is an ensuite to the master room. the lounge/dining area is large and has 2 sofa's, 3 and a 2 seater. LCD tv and a tv internet box which works on and off, the signal always goes but it has british chennels. the internet works well and the wifi signal is good. the kitchen is large and well equiped, fridge/freezer, cooker/oven and larder. iron, hoover and irojing board. all the pots and pans you could need. the utensils are good and some need replacing. lots of cupboards which need some attention as the doors are coming loose and do not sit flush. minor thing really. 2 air conditioning units in the master room and lounge. didn't notice in the twin room though. BBQ on the large patio area overlooking the pool is great and lots of fish holders etc that work well. the pantry and fridge had left over items from previous guests - not perishables though, so the basic oils etc were all there. we had a few meals at home but mainly ate out in tavira and the local restaurants. good places are casa d abode on the square, lovely meat cantaplana and secret pic, Alcatruz is a hidden gem, locals eat there and the food was great - they do not speak much english. the black pig there was lovely as were the clams. cafe de villa is great for coffees and cakes and very friendly. good local supermarkets, small but stacked high with all you need and a good butchers. fish mongers on the square is also very good. visit mia papa bar from good gin and tonics, large choices and good music. nice restaurants on the sea front too. beaches marvellous!!

i recommend this apartment as good value and very spacious, nice quiet area and minutes away form everything. hidden gems everywhere in the village and friendly locals.

jonny is very friendly and emails you all you need to know, posts the keys to you in good time and nice table and chairs in the dining area. stereo is also there, needs replacing as doesn't work with ipods anymore. perfect for a family break or just for 2 as we were.

apartment was clean and all linen provided.

we will definitely stay here again in the future and bring friends with us. i'd recommend this to anyone.

Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

The long beach on the Isla Tavira is a pretty twenty minute walk along the riverside. There is also a water taxi service from the village. Barril beach has excellent facilities and very safe, guarded swimming. Santa Luzia is set within the Ria Formosa National Park and is a haven for a large number of migratory birds. Flamingos can be seen on the Santa Luzia side of Tavira. Tavira also has numerous water sports facilities.

Travel:

Faro is a 30 minute drive (€45 taxi fare). Car hire is not essential as the area is well serviced with buses, trains and taxis. You are 5 minutes from the 17th Century town of Tavira, with its many bars and restaurants, 15 minutes from the excellent golf courses of Benamor, Quinta de Cima and Quinta da Ria. Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo are are within 30 minutes drive, with Vilamoura a further 15 minutes. Seville is approximately 1.5 hours away by car or by train.

Distances:

Located in the beautiful village of Santa Luzia. No need for a car when at the apartment as all amenities are well serviced within the village.

Further Details:

Santa Luzia has a number of minimarkets and a pharmacy, while larger supermarkets and a fresh food market are located in Tavira.

Santa Luzia is renowned for its award-winning seafood restaurant, its cafes and bars that overlook the Rio Formasa, and its restaurants serving traditional Algarve food in small cobbled squares. This is a truly beautiful and relaxing place to holiday.

Other activities include the new watershoot park at Loule (35 minutes drive) and you can swim with dolphins at Zoomarine (40 minutes drive). There is a sailing school located at Quatre Aguas just outside Tavira (5 minutes).

The Eastern Algarve has retained its unspoilt, traditional feel, with working fishing villages, blue flag beaches and small rural villages set in rolling hills.
