Villa in The Lizard Village, Cornwall - Peaceful Location, 10 Minutes Walk to the Beach and Lighthouse

From the front door you enter a tiled porch leading through into the large entrance hall. There are three ground floor bedrooms. A lounge, having comfy seating for 10 people. A spiral staircase leads upstairs to a further two bedrooms and a family bathroom. The kitchen and dining area are the centrepiece of the whole house. The free-form shape of the dining table will seat 10 easily and the similarly shaped central island in the kitchen also has bar stools at one end, ideal for breakfast time. Outside is parking for three-four cars easily and a boat if necessary. The large detached garage houses a table tennis table for your use and there is a sheltered rear garden. Summer Lodge is within easy walking distance back to Lizard village where there are two pubs/restaurants, general store, post office and gift shops. You are also just 400 metres from the SW coastal path offering stunning cliff top walking in either direction.

Our minimum rental period is one week.

Our change over day is Saturday to Saturday.

Our rates vary according to the season.

About the Owner

I live on the Lizard peninsula, not far from Summer Lodge, as I find this area one of the most inspirational in the UK. I am an artist/builder who creates spaces of light and beauty. My aim is to welcome you into a dwelling for your pleasure and relaxation. I enjoy using ideas of times passed and endeavor to achieve an ‘other worldliness’ in my work.

I spend my time in constant contemplation of the next project in mind. Other than that you can find me enjoying music and dance, or Cornish coastal walking.

Fantastic house! By far the best we've ever stayed in. It has everything you could possibly need (and more!) The attention to detail in the design and decoration of the house is second to none. Although there are no pictures of the outside, I can assure you it's as impressive as the inside. We were a party of 7 including 3 children. There was plenty to do in the area and we could easily have stayed longer. The Lizard village is beautiful too with more than enough to spend a day exploring. We will definitely make the trip back.

We have all enjoyed our holiday in this beautiful county of Cornwall.

We were thrilled with the house and the way it is equipped is first class.

I purchased this property in 2006 and it took almost three years of renovation. It was built in 1923 so I have tried to keep the ideas of this era in mind, redolent of the 1920s and an eclectic collection of furniture and furnishings. The location is unique, with sea views from three directions’ offering a different light at all times of the day.

Coast/Beach:

Summer Lodge is within easy walking distance back to The Lizard village where there are two pubs/restaurants, general store, post office and gift shops. You are also just 400 metres from the SW coastal path offering stunning cliff top walking in either direction. The beaches are very beautiful and sandy. There are three beaches within 10 minutes walking and others within a 10 minute drive. Kynance Cove is especially beautiful and is a 20 minute coastal walk away, 5 minutes by car.

Nearest airport is Newquay one and a half hours away.

Nearest town 10 miles to Helston.

Nearest City Truro 25 miles.

There is a 24 hour Tesco in Helston.

The local village has very useful shops and provisions.

There is Surfing, Sailing, Water Skiing, Wind Surfing and Gig Racing. Horse riding is available with 2 local stables. The New Yard Restaurant has been awarded 2 AA rosettes and is only a 30 minutes drive. The Head Chef sources the majority of their produce locally, with game, herbs and fruit being sourced from the Estate itself. Housel Bay is the local beach, and is less than 1 mile. It is absolutely stunning, you could be forgiven for thinking you are in Ibiza. The landscape at The Lizard is perfect for short or long walks. For keen Golfers, Mullion Golf Course is just a 20 minute drive, and is England's most Southerly Golf Course. Situated on the cliffs, Mullion Golf Course really is one of the most beautiful courses in the South West. For all the Family, Flambards Theme Park is perfect, whatever the weather, and is just a 30 minute drive away. Offering an authentic insight into 'how we used to live', with a complete village, what it was like in the war & the cockpit of Concorde.

An advance deposit of 1/3rd of the total rental cost must accompany the application for the reservation of the property within 12 hours of the confirmation of the holiday dates. The payment will be bank transfer or PayPal
The balance of the total rental cost must be paid in full at least 8 weeks before the holiday is due to commence.

You will find comfort and functionality inside the property within a two minute walk to the Lizard village. Here you will find a variety of shops selling local products, including the Serpentine stone, unique to this very small area of Cornwall. There are several family run pubs and tea rooms as well as Anne’s famous pasties. Take a ten minute walk to the nearest beach but a little further on you will find one of Cornwalls coastal jewels, Kynance Cove. You would be forgiven for thinking you have been transported to paradise with its sandy beaches and serpentine rock formations.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: This house is a non smoking home. Also no pets. We keep the house scrupulously clean. It is ideally suited to families who wish to holiday in the Lizard area. The walking along the coastal paths is highly recommended and so too the bird watching. Especially the Cornish Choughs in the spring. We have some of the most stunning beaches in Cornwall close by. Outside: Outside there is parking for three or four cars easily and a boat if necessary. The large detached garage houses a table tennis table for your use and there is a sheltered rear garden. There is seating for 10 and a portable Barbecue. Utility Room: Washing machine, toilet and hand wash basin. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen is included. Please bring your own towels for the beech. The property is cleaned on change over day.
