Greek Tourist Board licence 0831K91000547401 (12/6/13)
Dionysos is very secluded and stands in over an acre of land, surrounded by olive groves, overlooking the tranquil village of Fterno. With spectacular views of the Ionian sea and the nearby Islands of Arkoudi, Atokos, Petalou, Kythros, Ithika and Kefalonia. The Villa was built in 2009 to an excellent quality and is tastefully furnished with 4 bedrooms, split between 2 levels, a spacious lounge and a fully fitted kitchen with separate dining area. The Infinity Pool is surrounded by a large private patio that includes a covered area for alfresco dining. It is a child friendly home that is spacious enough for more than one family to share and enjoy. Within easy walking distance (800m) is the village of Fterno, where there are 2 family run tavernas and a coffee shop. Just a short drive away are the bustling port towns of Nidri and Vasiliki which have many tavernas, bars, shops, nightlife and great water sports facilities.

Stunning views from stunning villa
About the Owner
I live in Cheshire with my husband, our 3 children, Sammy 24, twins Abi and Charlotte 19 and our 2 golden retriever dogs. We enjoy walking, swimming, relaxing and entertaining. We have close friends living on Lefkas and fell in love with the beautiful green island when we first visited them in May 2007. The first place in the world where we would dream to live, other than the UK.
Guestbook comments from the manager
We have spent many years holidaying in Villas as a family and with friends and none compare with Villa Dionysos. The villa is luxurious in every respect, and extremely spacious (there were 8 of us – 3 generations), whilst the location is absolutely stunning with magnificent views out to sea. Every need is catered for, and Diana’s care and attention is second to none, all of which ensured that we enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing 2 week holiday. We cannot recommend Villa Dionysos highly enough.
Fantastic facilities, superb location, so well thought out. Starter pack was a great help. We had a brilliant holiday, will book again.
Excellent accommodation, I am serious when I say that this is the best villa we have stayed in so far, & this was the 6th year we spent our holidays together. The house itself is so well conceived and equipped that even though we were 10 we had our own space.

Stunning views from stunning villa
This is a fabulous place to spend a relaxing week. The villa is situated above the village with gorgeous views of the sea and over nearby islands. The villa is spacious and private. You do need a sturdy car if you want to explore beyond the village and to access some lovely local beaches and restaurants. Enjoy!
What a fantastic villa set in a ideal location, away from the more populated resorts but close enough to be there in minutes if that is what you are looking for. The villa really has it all, size, space, facilities and an absolutely fantastic view towards the islands of Ithaka and Kefalonia. Thanks to all the 'team' for not only looking after the villa and the pool for the two weeks we were there, but for being so friendly and sharing their local knowledge with us. We all thoroughly loved the villa and its location, and needless to say we had a fantastic relaxing holiday. We would highly recommend a tour around the island and stop off for lunch at the laughing Goat in Karya village square. Also a must is the butchers in Sivros who insists that you pick your own cuts of meat from his fridge before cooking them to perfection for you. Technology has really past this guy by as he writes your bill out on the tablecloth when you have finished your meal. Not al la carte but what a memorable experience! Loved the drive down to the shingle beaches of the east coast and the early morning swims. Beautiful sandy beaches on the west coast but be prepared for the crowds! Great range of water sports in Vassiliki and we would recommend a trip around the islands on the MS Christina.Highly informative and great value. Finally thanks to Di and her family for making booking so easy and all the help and advice beforehand. We would definitely recommend this villa to friends and relatives.
We had a lovely week on our second holiday to this fantastic villa. The villa is in a stunning situation with friendly tavernas nearby and a 10 min drive to the beautiful port of Sivota below. The infinity pool looks towards Ithika and Kephalonia- an amazing place to unwind!
June Villa Dionysos with 1yr old-our 1st Holiday
My daughter & I headed off for our first trip abroad & it was a success thanks to the fabulous Villa Dionysos. The villa is so well equipped with cot, toys, kitchen wear (cups, cuttlery, plate, bows for little one) I didnt have to cart anything. We got a car with a car seat from the recommended car hire as well which was excellent. The weather was hot but the shade for playing outside made it easily bearable. The pool toys & gorgeous clean pool made Freya's holiday! The villa is in walking distance to beautiful local restaurants highly recommended for Greek chops which are to die for & a bargain. A short drive are beaches both sandy & pebbly which are also well equipped with brolly's/ beds to hire & taverna's for drinks, food & more shade. You can venture our or just chill out with the amazing view, barbeque & local wine ( so cheap & v quaffable). We would definately return & recommend to anyone with kids for both privacy, option to be noisy yet easy access to beaches & food. The villa is spotless, as said well equipped even with kids toys & games, DVD's & sky for amusement. Fantastic & highly recommended!
Luxurious villa with a spectacular view.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this gorgeous villa where Di has done much to make the stay as comfortable as possible. For example lots of items already at the villa which you would often have to pack eg adaptors, hairdryers and straighteners. We used the airconditioning on the first night but despite the very hot weather we never used it again as the villa is so cool inside. Di's friends who supervise the house were on hand but not obtrusive and it was nice to get some local knowledge from them. The pool and its view are what really make the villa but the island has so much going for it too. We took quite a while to decide whether to stay on this side of the island or go to the west where the beaches are reported to be much more sandy. We definitely made the right choice for us. Although the beaches are all pebbly as long as you have appropriate shoes then they are much prettier and quieter and the swimming is glorious. We did visit the west coast and we really enjoyed the different views. We ate at a restaurant called Panorama View near Kalamitsi and had the most spectacular view overlooking Kathisma beach and an excellent meal. We loved nearby Sivota where we had three excellent breakfasts at the Sivota Bakery and an evening meal at the Ionion Taverna. We loved Vasiliki too. Our local village restaurant 'Philipous' was low key but the food and serviice was excellent - we wished we had gone there more than once. The highlight of the holiday apart from the villa had to be the island cruise we did on the M S Christina. We had researched this before our holiday and the cruise definitely lived up to our expectations. We would very much recommend paying more for a smaller boat than the bigger, cheaper cruise boats. If we returned to the villa again we would definitely consider having a 4 x 4 vehicle as there were 5 adults in a medium sized car and the track up to the villa is very rustic! However this meant that the villa was in a quiet and peaceful place with a view to die for - exactly what we wanted. I would definitely recommend this villa to other people.
An amazing stay
We had an amazing stay, the villa is very clean and well equipped. The pool area is wonderful, which my 2 nephews really enjoyed. The surrounding area is lovely and there's lots to do but a car is a necessity. However there is a taverna not to far if your willing to walk.
Any body wanting a relaxing holiday with beautiful scenery this is a must for you!
We will definitely visit again, thanks Di for an amazing stay!
From the Owner
“We decided to buy land to build Villa Dionysos in 2007 when we found secluded land for sale surrounded by olive groves in the tranquil unspoilt Greek village of Fterno. The sea view constantly changes as the sun changes position, breathtaking. The island of Lefkas still boasts the traditional Greek way of life, friendly people, great food and wine, and is home to some of the most spectacular beaches in Greece.”

Island-Sailing.com - If Sailing may be of interest during your holiday we can recommend Island-Sailing.com. Weekly yacht charters are available throughout the summer season and in low and mid season they will consider shorter charters of around 3 days when customers can go out on a yacht during the day and sail back to the villa in the evening if they don’t want to stay onboard overnight. They offer either skippered yacht charter for those who can’t or don’t want to sail or bareboat or flotilla sailing (for more experienced sailors).
10-15 minutes drive to Vasiliki beach, famous for wind surfing. 10-15 minutes drive to Poros Bay or Ammousa. 10-15 minutes drive to Nidri and Sivota. 50 minutes drive to Porta Katsiki (the wow beach) and Kathisma. 30-35 minutes drive to Lefkas Town.
The nearest airport is Preveza (PVK) May to October. It is approx 45 minutes drive to the villa. There are direct flights from Manchester and Gatwick. Car hire can be arranged, on request, and can be picked up from Preveza airport. Athens is a 6 hour drive away, quite a straight forward route. Ferries from Italy and Corfu go into Igoumenitsa port, 2 hours drive away, again quite a straight forward route.
In the local village of Fterno there are 2 excellent family run tavernas and a coffee shop/bar located in the square.

“Our vision was to create a family orientated, child friendly, home spacious enough for more than one family to share and enjoy unwinding together. Secluded, private and relaxing with our own infinity pool, with both covered and open patio areas providing shade and sun. Villa Dionysos is a 15 mins drive from the beach and some great family run tavernas and is close to Nidri and Vasiliki if you want the water sports and a busy nightlife. Being our second home we have most mod cons including Air Conditioning in all rooms, broadband Wi-Fi, satellite TV, iPod docking and CD systems - to make your stay home from home.”
