Apartment in Los Alcazares, Costa Calida - 5 minutes walk to Restaurants & Bars, 10 minutes to Beach

This apartment is a top quality, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment furnished to a high standard. Situated in a secure complex with landscaped gardens, the apartment offers a peaceful and pleasant environment for sunbathing by any of the 3 pools. There is a lift to the apartment and wheelchair access. The balcony overlooks one of the pools and has the sun all morning. There is sky English satellite TV. The complex is situated in the quiet village of Pueblo Patricia and is less than 10 minutes from San Javier airport. Alicante is approximately 45 minutes away. It is less than a 5 minute walk to the closest supermarket with others nearby together with banks, restaurants and bars. The beach is on the Mar Menor which is separated from the Mediterranean by the La Mange strip and is only a 10 minute walk with a long paved promenade and several beach bars. The Mar Menor is a good 5 degrees warmer than the Med and provides a safe environment for water sports and bathing.

The location and surrounding area was what attracted us to the apartment and our family have spent many enjoyable holidays there since it was built 3 years ago.

We love the area because it retains a Spanish flavour and does not fall into the package holiday category. Although the surrounding countryside is well worth a look, there really is no need to hire a car as all the plentiful amenities are within a short walk.

Notes on accommodation: Our apartment has been furnished to a high standard for our own use which includes air conditioning for the summer and heating for the winter. (This is metered separately and accessed by cards purchased from the key holder). 4 sun beds for use at the pool are provided. There are various books and DVD's. There is a safe for valuables in the master bedroom and secure underground parking. There are many excellent restaurants in the square covering all types of food tastes with friendly inviting bars. Outside: Beautifully tended gardens surround the three separate shared pools. Each pool has a safe children's section. There is ample area around the pools to sunbathe all day. It is a gated complex accessed by locked gates which provides a safe environment for a young family. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Clean towels and linen are provided on arrival and the apartment is cleaned before and after your stay. A mid holiday clean can be arranged at an extra cost if required. Other: The balcony accessed from both the lounge and master bedroom has a glass circular table and 4 chairs and overlooks the second of the three pools. The balcony has the sun from first thing in the morning until early afternoon.

Lovely Apartment

This was our fourth visit to the complex having stayed in three different apartments before. This was the best apartment out of all the ones that we have stayed at. The apartment is very clean, tidy and modern and has everything that we required. It is close to all the shops and Restaurants and has the important shopping trolley for carrying all the bottles of water, pop etc. The balcony is very spacious and has nice views of the pool and we really enjoyed sitting there in the late afternoons and evenings.

The transfers to and from the apartment were well organised and there were no issues with the collection times, or the welcome pack we ordered.

We enjoyed it so ,much that we have already booked it again for next year. I think that says it all really.

This is a lovely apartment. It is quite large and has air conditioning throughout. The sofa's are comfy as are the beds. The television has a good clear picture and all the U.K. channels. The balcony is a good size and the layout of the apartment block means that it is not overlooked or is overlooking others. In fact the whole complex is well designed from this point of view. It is a big complex but you certainly do not get that impression when you are there.

The grounds are very well maintained and the common areas within the block are kept clean. The nearest pool (there are three) gets the sun all day and as a result the water was really warm when getting in.

It is a short walk to the plaza where there are numerous bars, restaurants, shops etc. plus an excellent supermarket. There are also two other supermarkets a similar distance from the apartment (Lidle and Consum) and we found the shopping trolley provided in the apartment a very useful accessory.

The beach is a similar distance beyond the plaza, at about twenty minutes easy stroll. Here there is a beautiful promenade which stretches for miles in either direction and there are a number of beach cafés serving excellent value snacks and drinks.

The beach is cleaned every night and as this is the Mar Menor the water is a few degrees warmer than that in the Med. and it is shallow and safe for youngsters of all ages.

We had very prompt responses from the owners and took advantage of the airport pick up. This worked very well. We did not hire a car on this trip and you really can manage without one particularly if you are there to "chill out" as we were.

I would recommend the Chinese restaurant just down the road from the Hotel 525. I can't remember the name but the "Menu del Dia" starting at €6.50 takes some beating as does the fish and chips at Pearl's Plaice. Take my advice and avoid the large option unless you are really big eaters. You will need to book at both of these at the weekend to avoid disappointment. Just pop in during the day and give your name, time and how many you are then sit back and enjoy your meal with a smug feeling as others are turned away.

Los Alcazares is a great place to stay. The proximity to the airport, the absence of package holidays, the fact that the Spanish people come here all are plus features.

We will certainly holiday here again.
