About the Owner

We moved to Cornwall 15 years years ago from London. When the children were growing up we had a little cottage in Cornwall where we spent many happy summer holidays so having fond memories we decided to settle permanently in this lovely county. We welcomed a change in lifestyle and immediately I embarked on three art courses which I enjoyed very much. We are very close to the beaches where I take our three dogs for their daily walk. Living in Cornwall offers a healthy lifestyle and we take full advantage of this eating locally produced food. Having worked for a leading London auction house for ten years I am passionate about Antiques and Antique Jewellery. I also enjoy renovating old properties and we all love dogs! Cornwall as a county has so much to offer with something for everyone.

Cosy & Comfortable, a great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Dairy Cottage is hidden away from the road and was a peaceful and most comfortable place to stay. It was ideal for exploring the coastline - and we did some spectacular walks from Port Isaac to Newquay. The decor was lovely (not like usual rented properties) and the beds extremely comfortable. We thought it was fitted to a very high standard, and lovely to be able to light a fire in the evening and watch a DVD (the owner has thought of everything). We took our dogs, and they had the best holiday ever! There are walks straight from the house, but less than 10 minutes in a car will take you to Padstow or nearby villages with great pubs, and fantastic beaches. The coastline is hugely un-spoilt and dogs are allowed on the beach up until Easter, from when it probably gets busier. We were lucky with the weather - blue sky and dry with some stunning views and empty beaches. The wi-fi was patchy but so lovely to be able to get away from it all for a few days. Stable Cottage and the main farmhouse are across the drive, but we didn't feel over-looked. Dairy Cottage has no garden, but access directly onto the drive where we could walk out to the field next door to let the dogs out first thing in the morning and last thing at night. We were pleasantly surprised that a property of this standard was pet-friendly, but the owners 'doggy rules' mean that the cottages remain clean and inviting for non-dog owners too! We had a great stay.

From the Owner

We purchased the farmhouse and outbuildings as we have had a strong connection to Cornwall for many years and enjoy renovating old properties. The North Cornwall coast is special and there is much to see and explore. Life in Cornwall is relaxed and the climate is mild . We have a large garden with the house which we have enjoyed cultivating. Old fashioned roses and cottage garden plants suit the soil and environment best. The air is pure and lifestyle is healthy. Cornwall is a county which offers everything, surfing, golf, sailing, shooting and fishing, horse riding. I also like Cornwall for it's art. Over the years he communication has become very good with regular flights to London Gatwick from Newquay which means we are able to stay in touch with family and friends . Life here is good
