About the Owner
We are a family living on the south coast. The property is our holiday home too and we visit regularly with our children and now 4 grand-children! Our fondness for the Island grows with every visit. We chose Freshwater as it is friendly and welcoming and has lovely beaches and walks on the doorstep - which is just great when we are over for a quick weekend refresher visit.

"Thank you for making our stay on the Isle of Wight so comfortable. Your house is lovely - we had everthing we needed there. If we hear of anyone wanting to stay on the IOW we will certainly recommend your house." J and B Worthing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage. Ideal location within easy reach of shops, bus stops, and plenty of walking trails connecting Freshwater with the countryside and beyond. The cottage was clean, cozy, and in a very quiet location with friendly neighbors. We hope to stay at the cottage again next year. A hearty thank you to Eileen for making our stay so easy and enjoyable!
Brilliant cottage perfect for families
We have just returned from lovely a week in Freshwater staying at this cottage and it was the best place we have stayed on the island. We visit the island regularly for holidays combined with a visit to my husbands elderly grandma who lives in freshwater. Travelling with a baby and a toddler this cottage was perfect. It is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated in a nautical theme which feels very holiday-ish! Both bedrooms are spacious with two double beds and a set of bunk beds. There is also a travel cot available and high chair which we made use of.
Everything feels modern and works well- the kitchen is very well equipped and even had a cold box and picnic plates etc to take on days out. We also found the toy box, beach mats, books, dvds, games puzzles etc really handy and a nice touch.
There is a small courtyard garden, big enough to sit outside and eat when the weather is nice. It is very pleasant surrounded by trees and lots of birds visiting next door's bird feeders.
Eileen kept in touch to make sure everything went smoothly and gave quick responses to questions we had beforehand.
There is a large co-op down the road which is handy but not cheap -we ordered shopping online from Tesco to be delivered shortly after we arrived, this saved us alot if time.
Only downside was having to bring all your own towels (including hand towels) which was a struggle with limited space in our car. However this is really a minor point and we would definitely recommend the cottage and return again in future.
We have stayed here now on 4 occasions. The property is always spotless, comfortable and well equipped. The location is extremely convenient for the Yarmouth ferry as well as walks, a very decent pub (The Red Lion), a good sized supermarket and the island in general. Although a car is always useful there is a bus stop with a regular service 50 metres away. Highly recommended.
Another lovely stay, house always immaculate as ever, Lovely weather even managing to spend some time on the beach. Had a lovely meal at the Waterfront restaurant, Totland, recommend booking as it gets very busy so lovely having a meal looking out to sea. Hopefully we will be staying again soon.
Lovely place to stay.
Well equipped, beautifully clean place to stay. In a great location and very quiet. We stay in the Isle of Wight every year and this is definitely one of the best we have stayed in. Great communication with the owner Eileen and would love to stay again. Thank you.
Great place for a peaceful retreat
Arrived to a clean and comfortable house, Perfect size for our family of four. Quiet and friendly, Freshwater is great for a peaceful getaway but everywhere on the island is within easy reach. Pleasant walks to the coast with plenty to see and do.

“Everything in our comfortable home on the Island is stylish and new. We know it will always be sparklingly clean thanks to our wonderful lady who takes care of it all for us. It is a real retreat whatever the weather which is usually glorious anyway. Freshwater itself is peaceful and friendly. We love an early morning bike ride along the very safe track to Yarmouth to have coffee in one of the many and varied cafes. We also regularly enjoy a walk along one of the many sandy beaches that are only a matter of minutes away. Fossil hunting is a favourite past-time when we have the grand-children in tow!”
