About the property

Cottage in Runswick Bay Nr. Whitby, North Yorkshire, England - Stunning Views, 2 Minute Walk to Beach, Pub and Cafe

Cottage with great sea views in unspoilt bay, sheltered by the north winds by Lingrow Knowle. Stunning views, 2 minute walk to beach, pub and cafe. At the front of the cottage there is a veranda with table and chairs with one of the best views in the village. Runwick Bay was a former fishing village on the north east coast. It is a pretty village with lots of white washed cottages and a lot of charm.

About Beverley Brook

We used to visit Runswick Bay on a regular basis before we bought the cottage and would dream about the possibility of buying a small house there. Eventually we took the leap and basically have never looked back. This cottage has given us real quality time together. We will still be using the cottage in between lets.

Guestbook comments from the owner

25 Oct 2014 We have had a fantastic week which began from the moment we arrived. Absolutely brilliant cottage. Views are amazing (even more so at dawn and dusk sitting outside with that view and only the sounds of the birds and the waves.....

9 Nov 2014 What an absolute delight to stay here. It's been better than expected. Total relaxation. Everything had been done to make the cottage so complete. The views are total perfection. We will be returning. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place.

Lovely setting, beautiful views

The bed was really comfortable. The views from this quirky cottage are amazing. A fair trade for the many steps up to it. Thank you for fixing the broken washer and leaving us the beautiful flowers.

Weren't we lucky

  • 5 of 5

Arriving on a bank holiday Monday after struggling through a very crowded Whitby we arrived at Top Gallant in the heat of the day!! How wonderful to collapse into the calm of this wonderful cottage and uncork the prosecco left by the very kind owners. Everything has been thought of in this excellent rental property including binoculars in the bedroom where you can scan the activities around the bay which spreads out in front of the bay window and balcony below. We didn't expect such wonderful weather in early May but had breakfast on the verandah on 3 mornings and sat enjoying the evening sun each evening. Many thanks Bev for sharing your lovely holiday home with us we are already trawling our diaries for a return visit!!

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay and would definately go back again. Very nice property in a perfect location with an excellent view of the bay. Very clean and cosy and everything worked perfectly. Very good Wi-Fi and smart TV, handy for the kids on the one day it rained.

Lots of useful information given from the owner prior to the stay, nothing was left to chance.

Perfect!

Picture postcard cottage

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cottage with stunning views. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need, even down to a pair of binoculars on the bedroom windowsill. It is well looked after and spotlessly clean.

Cosy cottage nestled in a very special location.

  • 5 of 5

Excellent for a romantic break; quiet, warm and a lovely roof top view across the bay. The walking from the cottage along the Cleveland Way in both directions was beautiful with an excellent bus service to ferry us back home. We also enjoyed the steep short 10 min. walk to a lovely hotel bar (Cliffemount) for an evening drink and meal.

Thank you for the fuel for the log burner and fizz! We had a lovely break.
