To describe Griante who better to enlist than none other than Longfellow wrote of this pretty village in 1879. I ask myself is this a dream? Will it vanish into air? Is there a land of such supreme and perfect beauty anywhere? Holidaymakers who have visited the region will no doubt bare testimony to the statement. Cadennabia and Griante forms one town, Cadennabia on the lake and Griante, a residential area perched 50 metres up the hill looking down on the lake. The residence features 9 spacious, beautifully appointed, luxury homes situated in a tranquil location. Choose from 2 or 3 bedrooms many with 2 bathrooms, terrace plus large communal outside area featuring pool in summer plus all year round sauna and jacuzzi. Ideally located to reach nearby Villa Carlotta with its majestic gardens, Bellagio directly across the lake, the Cadennabia and Menaggio golf club, shingle beach, lido and pool and golden sand beach all available either by foot or a short drive.

Great spot away from the tourist masses!
We stayed here with friends hiring several of the apartments here at griante residence. The accomodation is first class and both spacious and tastefully appointed. We relaxed at the pool most days and parking was very easy. We definitely picked the best village as we were staying above Griante away from the tourists but within walking distance of restaurants and bars and appreciated very much the tranquility of the residence. We have recommended griante residence to friends and hope to return in the near future. Special thanks to all the team who made the booking process so easy.

The ferry port is just over 5 minutes walk from the apartment to access the whole lake and all manor of pretty villages
scattered around the lake. Griante is ideally located to reach the beaches dotted around the lake. A golden sand beach is available 10 minutes drive south of the home whilst a beach with 2 swimming pools can be found 5 minutes north of the home in neighbouring Menaggio.
Milan Linate and Malpensa are 1 hour from the apartment.
For Bergamo add an extra 30 minutes. We are happy to advise which airlines fly to the local airports from the UK.
Car rental is considered essential to get the most out of your stay in the Lakes, however boats and buses access all parts of the lake from the village which is only a couple of minutes walk from the apartment.
A short drive to the quintessential Italian town of Como. Guide books tell you it is famous for Italian silk, however, we prefer its lake front views, pretty piazzas, 600 old churches, gelato shops (nocciala is our favourite!), alfresco dining and shopping for sumptuous Italian delicacies! 35 minutes to the Swiss border for designer outlets in Fox town. 50 minutes to Milan. 5 minutes to the lakeside town of Menaggio or just a 10 minutes walk to the ferry which takes you direct to Bellagio.
Tremezzo is 5 minutes from the home where the famous Villa Carlotta gardens can be found as well as the beautiful Parco Meyer garden ideal for an aperitif or some sunbathing next to the lake! Menaggio, with it's palm lined walkways is another pretty lake village worth exploring. Many boat activities from windsurfing to sailing are available on the lake as well as other water sports.
Mountain bikes are also available for hire if you wish to venture into the vast mountains that surround the lake. There are plenty of restaurants and places to visit we are happy to recommend. Just ask!

banks and more shops. Minimarket and restaurants approximately 10 minutes walk from the home.

The famous church of San Martino, perched high up on the hillside is a favourite for walkers and sightseers alike with The Bar Veccia Torre worth a visit on route to the church to view the unique paintings available to purchase as well as the refreshments available.
The lido beach bar, pool and restaurant is a real find for families here in the village on the lake front. Plenty of restaurants, a tearoom, plus a sophisticate disco on board a permanently moored boat are available to visit here on the lakefront in Cadenabbia.
