Villa Saskia is a new, modern well appointed single storey villa situated in the new development of ‘Villas del Sur’. The villa is furnished and finished to a very high standard and appeals to couples and families who want a relaxing 'home from home' holiday. The lounge for your entertainment has Satellite TV, Internet TV, DVD sound system, "Free WI-Fi and an excellent selection of music and films. The partially covered terrace with its own south facing pool and luxury outdoor furnishings gives ample space for relaxing, enjoying the Lanzarote sun and alfresco dining. Playa Blanca’s coastal promenade, with its stunning views towards Fuerteventura is only a few minutes walk away and the upmarket Marina Rubicon and Las Coloradas, both with excellent restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets and children’s play areas are nearby. The marina supports a wide range of leisure and water sport activities with old Playa Blanca and the popular Playa Dorada and secluded Papagayo beaches within easy walking distance too.

Travelled over the New Year with partner and our teenage daughter, we have holidayed in Playa Blanca in both hotels and villas for many years but truly loved the freedom and location of this villa, the pool patio area with its very comfy sun loungers was a sun trap as it gave great shelter from a cool wind which blew for a few days.

The villa consists of 1 double bedroom with ensuite shower cubicle toilet and 2 sinks.

2nd and 3rd bedroom has 2 single beds each and are either side of the family bathroom, shower over bath, single sink and toilet.

There was plenty of wardrobe/hangers and draw space in all 3 bedrooms. There is lockable shutters on each of the bedroom windows so in the warmer weather you could leave the shutters locked closed yet have the windows open allowing air through.

The inner courtyard is were the built in BBQ is along with a table and 4 chairs and good lighting.

The kitchen/dinning/living area is all open plan.

Kitchen: large fridge freezer, dishwasher cooker and hob with plenty of utensils plates etc also a big bonus was the good quality plastic beakers and wine glasses to use around the pool.

The washer is housed in a outdoor utility area.

Dinning area: large glass table and 6 chairs.

Living area: 2 large cream leather sofas, coffee table well stocked book stand Tv with excellent surround system for use with the many DVDs within the villa. And we really appreciated the full sky tv package which we used on the cooler days.

The villa is a 20 minute coastal walk to the marina were there is many good restaurants and bars we particularly enjoyed cookies in the Marina and loved looking in the shops on the marina and the market Wednesday and Saturday.

Andrea and George were very helpful from the booking enquiry right through to our villa holiday, we would highly recommend the villa and would certainly return in the future.

AMAZING

The best holiday I've had to date, the villa was perfect had everything we needed and was lovely and quiet yet a lovely walk into the marina and the main town. Lovely weather gorgeous pool and close to the local supermarket also over the road from the bus stop. We can't wait to return 100/10 from us!

Lovely stay

Easter holiday disaster

Rubbish. 12 of 14 days without a pool and promised refund changed when we got home from everyday without pool to 8 days. Owner thought this was very fair as we had used his electricity etc for 14 days. But we had no access to the whole front of the villa for 12 days. Do not trust these owners. Do not book this villa. Lots of other lovely villas without having to deal with these cheats..

Owner's Response: As long established villa renters with a track record of providing excellent service to our guests as witnessed by TripAdvisor Review, we can understand your frustrations that we were not able to fully meet your expectations on this occasion; Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience that this may have caused you. We too are disappointed about what happened and as you know the problem at the villa was a situation, completely out with our control and arose as a result of an unforeseen, very serious problem with the pool lining, identified during upgrades to the pool tiling and requiring major remedial work to resolve the problem. Our ‘conditions of let’ state that we the owners would offer a full refund if the villa was not available for let and we offered to honour this obligation. On your arrival at the villa, we made it clear that you could leave the villa and we would have refunded all your money, but as good villa owners we also offered to find alternative villa accommodation and pool access after you decided to remain at the villa. At no time did you indicate that you wished to leave our villa. We understand that having decided to remain at the villa, not have a pool did spoil your time there, but we also feel that a 58% refund of the total rental cost was more than generous compensation. Coast/Beach:

The coastal promenade starts near the villa (5 minutes on foot) at the El Pueblo shopping centre at Las Coloradas and runs for nearly 9 kilometre passing by the Marina Rubicon, Playa Dorada beach, the seafront restaurants of Playa Blanca, the main harbour with its ferry terminal to Fuerteventura and onwards to the south western tip of Lanzarote. The world famous beaches of Playa Papagayo and Dorada are also near the villa and are 20 minutes away on foot or 5 minutes by car.

Travel:

Playa Blanca is 32 kilometres to the south of Arrecife Airport by road, a journey time of about 25 minutes by taxi or hire car. The amenities of Playa Blanca are all within walking distance of the villa so car hire is not essential if you want to remain within resort. For those wishing to explore the island, car hire is recommended. We can provide information on request. Public transport is inexpensive. Twice hourly bus service now operates across Playa Blanca linking east to west.

Distances:

The shops, restaurants and play area at Las Coloradas are only 5 minutes away on foot. A 15 minute stroll gets you to the upmarket restaurants, bars and water based amenities at the Marina Rubicon. The popular beach at Playa Dorada is 20 minutes away, but while you are walking you will experience the exquisite views over Playa Blanca to Fuerteventura. Old Playa Blanca is another 10 minutes beyond the beach at Playa Dorada.

Further Details:

The local supermarket is only two minutes away and is well stocked. At the supermarket you will also find a taxi rank and car hire company. The area surrounding the villa has many interesting places to visit and things to do.

The area borders the Papagayo National Park with its coastal walks and world famous natural white sandy beaches and the Timanfaya National Park (Fire Mountain) with its impressive volcanoes and lava fields. There are many 4 and 5 Star hotels in Marina Rubicon or Las Coloradas area and the sport and leisure facilities of these hotels is available to non residents. Twice weekly craft market at the Marina Rubicon(Wednesday and Saturday 9 – 2pm). Impeccable tennis court overlooking the sea at the Marina and also courts at our local hotels. Two paddle tennis courts with artificial grass surface at the Marina. Freshwater swimming pool with a large private sun-bathing area at the Marina.

The villa will be managed during your stay by our English speaking representative. We provide a small welcome pack containing basic items such as water, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits for your arrival.

Booking Notes:
25% of rental fee due at time of booking to secure booking dates. Final balance due eight weeks before your stay. A damage retainer of £150 is required to be paid at the time of full holiday payment. This will be refunded by post within 24 hours of your departure subject to satisfactory property inspection.

Changeover Day:
The preferred changeover day is a Thurday but we can be flexible on this. The villa is available from 2pm on your day of arrival, and vacation time on day of departure is 10am, although we can be flexible on this, depending on other bookings.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds for 2 guests. Please add £50 per week for each additional guest up to a maximum of 6 guests. We do not charge for the first child under the age of 2 years. High chair and cot available free of charge. There is an additional charge of £45 per week for pool heating in the winter months for this service.

  • Notes on accommodation: Each bedroom has an electric heater and cooling fan for use in extreme weather conditions. Changing mat, baby plates, etc – available at no charge. Although we insist on a 'no smoking' policy within the villa, smoking is permitted on the terrace. Outside: The villa has a large, sheltered, south facing, partially covered sun terrace with private pool that can be heated in the winter months. Ideal for getting away from the very hot sun and the breezier days in Lanzarote. The covered area has a teak dining table with six chairs and four teak sun loungers. All are fitted with quality cushions. The villa has a small garden and many pots on the terrace with established tropical plants. The inner courtyard to the rear of the lounge is equipped with Moroccan breakfast furniture and a large charcoal barbecue. Utility Room: The open air Solana is equipped with a washing machine, clothes line and clothes airer, iron and ironing board and fitted with a large cupboard to hold mops, brushes and cleaning materials.
