Brand new luxury development Quinta das Palmeiras is the perfect location for a peaceful vacation, ideal for families and couples. The property consists adult/children's outdoor pools and indoor heated pool, jacuzzi,and fully equipped gym. Lagos is known for its beautiful beaches including Meia Praia, the huge sandy beach known for its surfing waves or the small sandy cove Praia da Batata. The pretty town has excellent shops selling local produce and crafts and is strewn with restaurants and bars selling the very best food and beverages. Many bars are open late and include local and international musicians. An ideal base for golfers with many of the world renowned golf courses in easy reach. It is not necessary to hire a car when staying here as everything is within easy walking distance of the apartments. Indeed a gentle stroll passing lovely coffee shops and restaurants as well as small gift shops will bring you to the centre of the small medieval town in less than 10 minutes.

About Denise Phelps

We are a married couple and chose to purchase property in Lagos as we love the town and find the location a perfect base for exploring the Western Algarve and further afield. We find the location ideal for ourselves to have a quiet relaxing break and for our young adult children who enjoy the evenings in the town and the excellent surfing beach of Meia Praia. The area is easily reached from Faro airport and all the attractions such as Zoomarine and Lagos Zoo are just a short car journey or bus ride away. The town is not as busy or commercial as others on the Algarve and will appeal to those who want to be close to everything without the need for a car. We have very young grandchildren and so it was important to buy on a development that could cater for all ages safely and securely.

We have very young grandchildren and find the apartment perfect as they are so easily accessible with the pushchair and the balcony is safe and the complex secure. The small quiet cove at the end of the Avenida is perfect for families and only a 10 min walk. The town is vibrant and colourful without being hectic and rowdy and the atmosphere at any time of day is peaceful and fun.

What makes this apartment unique

The property is brand new and we have furnished it to make it cosy and comfortable with everything guests will need. The management team are friendly and helpful and are able to offer guests local information to help them negotiate the area during their stay.

We had a great time at this apartment, we thought the Lagos location was just as described (great), we used a lot of the features including the Gym, both pools, and the most excellent coffee shop Fresco’s, the apartment furniture was of a high standard with everything you needed on hand, the same must be said for the bathroom and kitchen, we were also pleasantly surprised by how big and spacious it waw. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony drinking a nicely chilled local Sagres beer prior to a leisurely stroll to the many interesting restaurants and bars, you can tell we want to be there now LOL. We would most definitely recommend this place, we are already planning a return later this year, from the onset the owners were fantastic to deal with from my first tentative email enquiries which were replied to in a quick and positive manner.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Apartments are fully air-conditioned/heated. Our management team will meet guests at the apartments and show them around, assist with settling in and explain use of facilities. They are also happy to discuss the local area. A travel cot and high chair are available at no extra cost but must be requested at the time of the booking. We supply Egyptian cotton towels and bedlinen and these are changed on a weekly basis. If you would like them to be changed midweek this must be requested and there will be an extra charge. Secure car parking is provided underground via remote control entrance system and has lifts to all floors. There is a video entry system to the complex for added security. Sun loungers are provided for use by the pool. Furnishings have been provided to a very high standard to provide comfortable surroundings for your stay. Outside: There is a garden area with attractive raised planted flower beds and children's play area with slide, see saw etc. Adult and children's outdoor pools with designated sunbeds, access to the indoor pool with jacuzzi and fully equipped gym. The apartments are positioned close to the lovely Lagos marina which is reached via a footbridge across the estuary.

Great apartment close to town!

My parents had a lovely stay in September 2017 in this spotless apartment. My husband and I were in another apartment in the same block. My parents were shocked by how large the apartment is. Easy to get to via a lift, so close to the town, even has a lovely cafe underneath the apartment block. The baloney is large enough for 4 adults to sit and eat in privacy easily. There is a supermarket a five minute walk away.

We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone wishing for a loved large apartment close to amenities. We will sure to come back soon...

Lovely well kept clean apartment

I recently stayed at this apartment with my partner and 2 teenage daughters. The apartment was lovely, clean,spacious and well equipped so making our stay very pleasurable. Apartment pool area quiet and no trouble getting a sunbed , very relaxing. Just a short walk into the town of Lagos. Plenty of good restaurants and beaches lovely. Would definitely recommend this apartment. Booking was easy and all communication with owners excellent. Met by management team which was good as got to ask everything we wanted to know about the area. Beds very comfortable.

A great find

This apartment was recommended to us as we had had some bad experiences with bookings in Albufeira recently. It is very well positioned for access to what we would call the main parts of Lagos, the Marina, the beach and the Old Town. It is modern, comfortable, well equipped and well managed by both the owner from the UK and Sylvester and Carol on site. The acid test for us is would we go back and it is a resounding yes for both Lagos and the apartment.

Great location, clean and comfortable

Lots of space for two couples or a family. Very close to everything in Lagos made this a great base. Clean, modern and comfy beds. Close to marina, shops, restaurants. Beaches about 10-15 minutes walk gives you a choice of several. Lagos is a great place to visit and the apartment has plenty of booklets and information about the local area. The management team were fantastic and were particularly helpful when our flight was delayed. Nice touches included reading books, DVDs (mainly kids films) and games.

Supermarkets were close by and we only discovered the rotisserie chicken shop on Rua Vascos de Gama opposite the flat on the last day! Cafe Frescos serves great food at reasonable prices. Washing machine was a big bonus, downside for us, no shade by the pool, but the complex community are working on this.

Comfortable apartment

We enjoyed our stay in this conmfortable apartment. Location quiet, part of the residential complex. Walking distance to the town centre. Just a little bit further to the beaches, however I would recommend rental car and drive. No problem finding parking spaces even outside, in front of the apartment.

Location

Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

There are two main beaches in Lagos; the small cove of Praia da Batata is around a 10 min walk along the beautiful avenida. The long sandy stretch of beach that is Meia Preia is around a 15 min walk across the bridge and past the marina and is renowned for its surfing waves. Ample car parking for those who would prefer to drive. There are lovely beach bars selling cocktails and snacks that will complete your beach day. There are many tiny coves and beautiful beaches around the western Algarve.

Travel:

Faro airport is around 50 mins drive and we can arrange transfers for you via our management team in Lagos.

Distances:

Quinta das Palmeiras is on the edge of the medieval town of Lagos with pretty streets and excellent bars and restaurants. The fish market is an interesting place to visit as you walk the few minutes to the town centre. The avenida along the estuary has been modernised to a very high standard and offers upmarket and modern dining. The new Algarve autodrome is around 20 minutes drive away and is 'geared' up to host many of the top class motor racing and motorcycling events in the future.

Further Details:

There are a number of supermarkets within easy walking distance and they all offer a huge range of local foods and fresh fruit and veg as well as the basics and necessities that you will need during your stay. There are numerous banks with ATM machines where you can cash travellers cheques etc. There are many leisure companies on the marina offering trips to see the wild dolphins and to visit the beautiful caves and grottos around the coast at Ponta da Piedade. You can also hire boats for fishing trips for varying lengths of time. There is a small train that takes sightseers around the coast to Ponta da Piedade for a small cost. A recommended trip is the jeep safari that takes you through the Cork Tree Forest and into the Monchique mountains and offers a wealth of information on the people of the Algarve.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds (Can quoted and paid in Euros if requested) for 4 people in 2 bedroom (Apartment 307) and 2 people in 1 bedroom (Apartment 323). Extra person charged at £10 per night. Discount available for long winter lets please contact the owner. We will do our best to accomodate change over days so that guests can take advantage of the best possible flight prices. Monthly rates are NON-MAINTAINED, there will be no towel or linen changes for monthly stays.
