La Petite Bastie is a beautifully renovated natural stone mas located in a conservation area with no immediate neighbours. Perfect location to enjoy a peaceful and luxurious holiday in an idyllic rural setting but still only a 5 minute drive away from the shops and restaurants in nearest village of Seillans. The windows have wooden shutters that open onto breath-taking views over the hills towards the sea. The mas is stylishly finished and comprises a large living room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms (2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom, 2 bathrooms (one en-suite). The mas is surrounded by terraces, beautiful gardens, covered alfresco dining areas, BBQ, sumptuous exterior 'chill-out' area and a private swimming pool. It also provides for easy winter-living: you will find central heating and a fire place for the cooler months of the year. There is a secure gate to the property and parking for up to 4 cars. There are nearby attractions such as Gorge de Verdon (hiking, camping, white water rafting), Lac St Cassien (picnicking, swimming, canoeing, sail boarding) and a number of beautiful local villages.

About ANDY AND KAREN

We are a family of 4 (Andy, Karen, Reid and Findlay) from the UK who currently live in Auckland. We fell in love with Seillans upon our first visit in 2008 and feel very fortunate to be able to enjoy La Petite Bastie for a few weeks each year. Whilst we are not there, we hope that others will find it as equally enjoyable!

Outside: Sizeable mature gardens including covered terrace with BBQ, large granite dining table with accompanying seating, covered loggia with stone dining table, outdoor lighting, petanque area, 2 additional coffee tables, private swimming pool (4.5m x 2.5m) (alarm fitted), sun loungers, pagoda, and stunning views of countryside. Utility Room: There is a separate utility room that contains a washing machine. Cleaning / Towels / Linen: Clean bedding and towels (pool and bathroom) for 6 will be provided on arrival. Mid-week cleaning available at extra cost

Charming property perfect for relaxing

A beautiful traditional provencal house in a stunning location surrounded by woodland. The garden with its two wonderful covered seating/ dining areas, provided perfect shade from the mid day sun. The house is within a 10 minute drive of the lovely Provencal town of Seillans, and 20 minutes from Fayence which has a marvellous market 3 days a week; both offer a wonderful array of eateries and cafes. Overall a charming place to stay in this special area of Provence.

Beautiful House, Stunning Views

The house was very well maintained and clean, with a lovely lounge area and three good bedrooms. A beautiful house in a stunning location, the star of the show was the garden where in the Provence summer you will spend 95% of your time. With two wonderful dining areas and lots of space it is truly spectacular. The house is within a 5 minute drive of the stunning Provencal town of Seillans. Overall a wonderful place to spend a week or two.

Beautiful location, very comfortable Provencal Mas

Tucked away on a wooded hillside, just outside Seillans. Very humid area in August. AC in upstairs bedrooms was appreciated, could do with addition of AC in downstairs bedroom. Well equipped Mas, great not to have to pack towels. The kitchen was pretty well equipped although the dishwasher needs some attention. Although I contacted the Manager it was not attended to during our stay. The 2 bathrooms are lovely and the downstairs shower was a pleasure. Unfortunately, there was no satellite TV available although it was advertised as included. The outside was very pretty, with plenty of sitting areas, well maintained sun loungers and an area to play boule. The pool is only a plunge pool and needs maintenance/replacing which meant that sunbathing was kept to a minimum as there was no where to cool off and luxuriate.

Sitting outside in the evening was lovely as the gardens are well lit and it is very comfortable, also great fun listening to the wild boar rustling around which we were lucky enough to spot on many occasions.

A Perfect Spot

We enjoyed a wonderful week at this idyllic property in a very peaceful location yet close to many activities. The villa has lots of character and is comfortably furnished with very pretty gardens. A great place to get away from it all.

Villa in Provence

My wife and I have stayed 3 times in this villa once on our own twice with the family. It is located 4 miles from Seillans in spectacular rural Provençal countryside. The views across the valley are memorable. The Mas itself is very clean and well equipped. There is a large attractive garden with a small swimming pool.The nearest shops and restaurants are in Seillans where there is an excellent choice. Fayence some 6 miles away is a bustling market town well worth a visit.The Côte d'Azur with all its attractions is a 45 minute drive.

The attractions for my wife and I which have taken us back 3 times to this same villa are the peace and tranquillity of the surrounding French countryside,the proximity of first class restaurants and shops and the chance to share the French way of life. The villa which is spacious and equipped to a high standard will not disappoint.

Special interest holidays:

Hiking, skiing, cycling and para-gliding (apparently the best in the country, if not Europe), are some of the many attractions of the region.

Coast/Beach:

There are several beaches within easy reach by car: Mandelieu-La Napoule-Cannes, Golfe de Frejus, La Croisettes, Cannes, St Raphael, Ste Maxime, and St Tropez. Iles de Cannes - there are some small islands off the beach at Cannes which can be reached by public ferry or sailing boat. The water around them is a stunningly clear turquoise and is perfect swimming territory. It is a great spot for days out.

Travel:

Nice airport is 50 mins away, Toulon 1h, Marseilles 1h30.

Distances:

The centre of Seillans, lauded as a 'Village Fleurie' and voted one of 'the most beautiful villages in France' and is 35 minutes walk from the villa or 5 mins by car. Fayence, a pretty market town, Callian, built around a chateau on a hilltop, and Montaroux, built around a former fortress, are 10-15 mins drive from Seillans.

Further Details:

There are excellent restaurants in the locality (including one with a Michelin star) and many auberges. Seillans is self sufficient in terms of a supermarket, butcher, baker, cafe/bar, pharmacy, bank, post office, Tabac and boutique hotels, with some excellent restaurants. Ten minutes away by car, Fayence offers a more varied and wider choice of shops and restaurants. There is a local market every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and sailing, kayaking and water sports/pedalos at Lac St Cassien just 10 minutes away but with the choice of sea water sports centres at St Raphael or Frejus.
