Apartment in Cala d'Or, Mallorca, Balearic Islands - 10 Minutes Walk to the beach and alternative pools.

This is a beautiful apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 new bathrooms, with stylish furnishings. It is situated at the very heart of the Cala D’or Marina. Due to it’s location it has fantastic, unobstructed views of the sea and pleasure boats, which are moored just yards away. The apartment is part of community, which is meticulously maintained. It enjoys the use of communal gardens and shared pool, which is ideal for families. Secure parking included. There is a secure children’s area and football/tennis. Around the marina is an excellent range of up-market restaurants, shops and bars. Ten minutes walk around the other side of the marina is the lively resort of Cala D’or, which has dozens of shops, restaurants, bars and night life. About ten minutes walk away you will find a beautiful beach with soft white sand. Ten minutes drive away you will find Cala Mondrago Nation Park, which has fantastic beaches with turquoise sea. There is a top class golf course only 10 minutes drive away. Something special for all ages.

Hi, We are Paul & Gail and live in the UK. We have three lovely daughters and four wonderful grandchildren. We visited Cala D'Or a few years ago and fell in love with the place. We just had to buy this apartment when it became available and saw the views it offered.

We bought this apartment for its wonderful location and beautiful views. There is plenty to do and we particularly like the Yacht Club and fantastic restaurants! This apartment has a personal touch as it is also our family retreat!

Everything is in walking distance with dozens of shops, bars and really nice restaurants.

There is a choice of beaches, which are clean and well maintained. The sand id soft and whiteand drops gently into the sea, which makes it safe for children.

It's just great location for sitting with a cold drink and watching the world go by!

This is the second time me and my family have stayed in this beautiful apartment. We love the views and the fantastic location. There is everything you could wish for here. The pool is ideal for our 5 year old son with plenty to occupy him. The shops and restaurants are a stones throw away. The beach is just ten minutes walk away. This year this lovely apartment has been further upgraded to a very high standard. We will definitely be back!

All directions, apartment details and general information with be supplied prior to departure. Outside: The apartment is part of a community with gardens and a shared pool and pool bar with free Wifi access. Please note the pool is great for families and can be a little noisy. For guest, who like it a little more quite there is a nice pool opposite the beach, which is free. Utility Room: Cupboard with cleaning equipment if required? Also a number of beach toys etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and lined are provided and there will be a mid term change of sheets and towels for two week rentals only. There is also a cleaner and someone at hand for any small problems. These details will be provided prior to arrival. Other: Dining area with round glass table and seating. SePated table with chess board. Separate hallway for storing coat

Lovely apartment with fantastic views of the marina

We're just back from a twelve night stay in Paul and Gail's lovely apartment overlooking Cala D'Or marina. Communication with the owners during the run-up to our holiday was spot on, and they provided us with lots of useful information about both the accommodation and the surrounding area well in advance of our trip.

The apartment itself is perfect for a family of four, with the pictures being a good representation... although it was slightly bigger than we expected, which was a definite bonus! Obviously a well loved holiday home, we really liked the personal touches and felt immediately comfortable there.

The location couldn't have been better, directly above a Spar and across from the entrance to the marina. It certainly made running downstairs for our freshly-baked morning croissants very easy, and breakfast on the large balcony watching the mad joggers was the best way to start every day!

Only ten minutes walk through a beautiful leafy path took you straight to Cala des Pou beach in the neighbouring Cala Egos. Our kids had a great time jumping off the rocks into the sea there, and they also loved the communal pool directly behind the apartment.

Fantastic local bus services meant that we were able to take day trips to nearby Cala Mondrago in the beautiful protected conservation area (15-20 mins from Cala Egos), and also visit the stunning Coves des Drac about an hour away.

Car hire was easy and cheap (around £35-40 per day), and the roads are so easy and well-maintained that driving around the island is fairly relaxing. We discovered that it cost approximately half the price to hire a car for the day for the four of us to go to Aqualand in S'Arenal than bus fares would have been. (Worth noting here that booking your waterpark tickets online the day before your visit also saves approx €3 each, and fast passes for the kids are a must to avoid all the queues!)

This was our fourth visit to Mallorca in 3 years and the second to Cala D'Or - in fact we're already planning our next trip as there's lots more restaurants and things to do which we didn't manage to fit in this time :)

Thanks again Paul and Gail for giving us the perfect base for a great holiday, I'm sure we'll be back!

Excellent location

The apartment is well located, 10 minutes walk to the beach, 15 minutes walk into town, essential shop & bars just down the stairs, easy parking and access, we expect to return in the future.

Great apartment, situated in the marina

The location of the apartment is perfect. With a lovely view of the boats in the marina from the balcony, off of the lounge and conveniently just steps away from the local Spa mini-market. The apartment is well furnished throughout and as the saying goes: 'A home from home'. Restaurants we would recommend around the marina are: Porto Cari, Botavara, Gusto and La Scala. Best beaches to visit are: Sa Nau, Cala Mondrago and Cala Lombards. (Fish at the Sa Nau beach restaurant is a must!) We visit Majorca every year and will be returning again next.

Great Location

the Apartment is located in a lovely part of Cala D'Or situated on the Marina. The location lends towards strolling around the Marina to visit local restaurants / cafes / bars and into Cala D'Or town centre.

The Apartment itself is ideal for couples or small family and has the benefit of a balcony and communal pool (which was not open during our stay with it being out of season).

A quiet winter break

We had not been to Majorca for 28 years and not in this area. Unfortunately we arrived at the start of some of the worst winter weather Majorca has seen for years, but in spite of this we got out walking every day and during our 26 day stay we had some really beautiful days. We enjoyed walking to Calonge and Portopetro and around the bays and we had the beaches to ourselves. The apartment is delightful, very tastefully furnished and in a lovely location. We survived without transport for our stay and the bus to and from Palma stops very nearby, while infrequent at this time of year they are reliable. Being the 'quiet time' a lot of restaurants were closed but we found some lovely 'menu del Dias' where ever we went.

We were also lucky to spot a wide variety of birds including Hoopoe, Egrets, Owls, kingfisher, Red Kite, restarts, blackcaps.

Coast/Beach:

Around Cala d'Or there are eight beautiful beaches. The nearest only 10 minutes walk away. Others are walkable, but if you don't fancy that they are minutes drive away. Taxis are reliable and cheap. All the beaches have restaurants and bars. The sand is white and soft and most are child friendly.

Travel:

Palma Airport is approximately 45 minutes drive away. Car rentals vary but we normally pay about 120 euros a week for a Fiesta sized vehicle. Taxis are normally 55 euros each way. Buses are also available from the airport.

Distances:

Places of interest. Palma is a must! it is about 50 minutes drive fron Cala D'or. Buses and trips are available. Caves of Drac about 20 minutes drive. Cala Mondrago National Park 10 minutes drive. Water park, a great day for the family! 40 minutes. Porto Petro a few minutes drive and 15 minutes walk. Lovely little harbour with shops and restaurants. Details for these and other attractions provided in the apartment. Trips are also available nearby.

Further Details:

All in all this is a wonderful location for a holiday. The marina is upmarket with the lively town of Cala D'or within walking distance with even more shops and restaurants. The shops, bars and restaurants are on your doorstep. Please note although everything is so close the noise levels are minimal. Our apartment is situated above a Spar shop, which is very convieniant The restaurants come at various costs with very reasonable family restaurants to top class restaurants, which we feel are out of this world. Please try the Yacht Club.
