Five shower townhouse in Cadaques Old Town. Sleeps 8. Close to beach/town centre. Full Of Character

Beautifully converted 'fisher's cottage' situated centrally within the charming and picturesque "Casc antic" - the original Old Town Quarter of Cadaques. Two minutes walk from the sea.

Re modelled in 2004 with all traditional materials, the house combines all the charm of an original cottage with modern comfort, convenience and a beautiful coastal interior. Free wi-fi throughout, five seperate showers, 3 toilets, a service lift, and zone controlled underfloor heating. Fully equipped, modern kitchen with espresso machine, Nutri Bullet, Miele appliances and solid teak units

Beyond the imposing oak door entrance lies a large living/dining area leading into a ludicrously well-equipped kitchen

Two twin and 2 double bedrooms are found on first and second floors - each with it's owns shower facilities

The top floor opens on to the main living area with a well-stuffed corner sofa, leather armchair, ottoman/coffee table and a DVD player with over 200 recent film releases.

Bi-fold glazed doors lead to the sunny, private roof terrace with table, benches, seating and deck-level lighting

Situated in the heart of the most picturesque part of the village with access to the best local food shops, art galleries, restaurants and with a clear view of the nearby 16th century church bell tower.

Just a few metres down the cobbled lane, the sea and the whole bay of Cadaques opens up in all it's bustling glory

Exceptionally well appointed in a contemporary coastal style. Plantation shutters, teak doors, antique furniture and artifacts from around the world. Great beds and beautiful linens!

About Chris Morley

I first set eyes on the bay of Cadaques from the mountain road that winds high above the town. I was having a 'life/work balance' moment - touring the Pyrenees (rather slowly) on a classic vintage motorcycle.

Perhaps it was the weather and crystal clear sea - but for me the village of Cadaques was a case of love at first sight!

Having totally fallen for both the village and the surrounding area I couldn't believe my luck a year later when I returned and found a charming house for sale right in the historic heart of the village!

Since then, working to improve the house; bringing everything up to International standards - making it a proper home - has become an on-going labour of love!

I certainly cherish my time there - and friends generally seem to agree.

Why Chris Morley chose Cabo de Creus

Cadaques succeeded where many other villages on this coast failed. It remains charming and unspoilt in spite of being home to Salvador Dali and in spite of being located on the busy Costa Brava. Access was the first reason. The approach road from Rosas around the Peni mountain is similar to that of a ski resort. Just one road in and the same road out.

Dali, and his considerable influence was the second. In his lifetime he managed to block any major housing development Today Cadaques remains a picturesque town in naturally beautiful surroundings. Full of history, charm and character.

The sea is crystal clear here. There are many restaurants and bars serving wonderful food all over town and, just beyond it's narrow cobbled lanes, lies the Cap de Crues Natural Park, home to some of the most spectacular, unspoilt scenery in NE Spain. Travel - especially from the UK - is easy via Girona Airport and yet, for most, Cadaques remains a 'secret spot'.

What makes this house unique

The house lies right at the heart of the once walled, historic old town (or 'Casc Antique' )halfway between the 16th Century church and the sea. Visitors feel part of a traditional village way of life - buying daily fresh bread and fruit from local storekeepers within 50m of the house

These steeply cobbled lanes with their bouganvillia clad houses create a charming and picturesque atmosphere below which the clear waters of the bay, filled with little boats and surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops are just a matter of minutes from the front door.

There, a faded plaque on the quayside identifies a house once occupied by Picasso.

Salvador Dali's home and workshop - 15 minutes walk away at Port Lligat - is where he and many other 20th century artists came to enjoy the extraordinary light quality and rugged natural beauty of the area.

Very few properties in the old town are available for visitors to rent.

Finding another as well appointed and with such character and charm is almost impossible.

Beautiful house in a beautiful town

This stunning house is perfectly located just behind the central hub of the bay. It is relaxing and stylish and really well equipped - we spent as much time relaxing on the roof terrace as we did in the bars and restaurants of gorgeous Cadaques.

Trips to Dali's house and museum were an added highlight, as was the spectacular scenery around Cap de Creus. I can't wait to come back again.

Beautifully restored cottage in excellent location

Cadaques is a beautiful seaside village with old cobbled streets and many fantastic restaurants. It is the perfect place for a special holiday. The cottage has been beautifully restored with much attention to detail. The kitchen is fully equipped with high spec equipment and lots of really nice touches. The bedrooms are very comfortable and beautifully decorated, and on the top is a terrace with a fantastic view. It is perfectly positioned, close enough to the car park for a day out (cars not really feasible in the cobbled, steep and narrow streets - though you can take the car close enough to drop off luggage) and also close to the beaches and all the restaurants and icecream shops close by. Chris went to a great deal of trouble to ensure that our stay was successful, even leaving a bottle of bubbly as a welcome gift! He answered many emails with questions prior to our visit, and there is a visitors book with lots of info too. There is also a lift to carry luggage/drinks/people who don't want to climb stairs etc up to the higher floors. (Parents with children younger than 6 might find this a bit nerve wracking as it is quite a drop to the bottom, with waist high gates). Overall thoroughly recommended!

Wonderful happy stay!

Myself and a friend took our 5 children to Cadaques to stay in this wonderful house. The age ranges were 4 - 16 and the house was well catered for everyone's needs and ours! We didn't want for anything - everything was there which just made everything so easy. The kitchen was really well equipped and aesthetically the house could not have been more lovely - even the bed linen was tasteful! Location was ideal - nestled amongst the pretty streets of Cadaques. Prior to our visit we asked Chris many, many questions and he was always very quick to answer always with helpful advice. We ate well, swam well, walked, hired boats for day trips and slept well and everyone was happy! Thank you so much just wish we had booked the house for 2 weeks and not 1 - it was just as we imagined it be be and better! Many thanks Clare Blum/ Maria O'Neal and 5 children!

Superb home from home

Absolutely fantastic property and instantly felt like home from home. Plenty of attention to detail in ensuring that visitors have everything they require. Incredible kitchen with every utensil for an enthusiastic cook, lovely comfortable beds with good quality bed linen and the entire house was very clean. Perfect location for popping to the bakery, strolling the harbour or walking to local restaurants, in the heart of things but quiet at night. Lovely roof terrace which is sunny in the morning and comfortably shaded in the heat of the afternoon. Owner Chris very helpful with any queries and quick to respond. Will definitely hope to return soon and would definitely recommend staying. One point to make is the low roof terrace wall would mean attention for young children, however we had a teenager so not a problem and he loved his bedroom with its own shower facilities. Wish we had stayed longer. Thank you Chris :-)

The Perfect House

A dream home- clean, comfortable, fully equipped and easy to run. Children beware of low roof terrace wall.

The town is charming with much to offer. Many restaurants offering all sorts of cuisine, fantastic walks near and far, sea excursions, Dali's House a must, numerous art galleries and a beautiful church. People very friendly and helpful. What more can I say. One week was not enough.

Stay tax €0 per night, per person. This amount will be due to the owner upon arrival. Does not apply to children under 15 years.

Booking Notes:
After confirming availability and rental costs for requested dates, a deposit is required in order to secure the booking. The deposit amount will depend upon nearness to rental period but is generally 30% of the rental price
In the event of a cancellation, 50% of deposit will be refunded for a cancellation within 4-8 weeks of rental period, 25% refunded within 2-4 weeks No refund can be given inside 2 weeks of rental period.
Cleaning fees
During the season, our housekeeper Angela has her work cut out to turn the house around between guests leaving an those arriving
For rentals of 7 nights or more I do not charge for her services but for less than 7 nights I feel it is fair to ask guests for a contribution of €60

Changeover Day:
Saturday is the preferred changeover day in high season. Keys can be collected from a local agent in the afternoon of your arrival and returned on the morning of departure.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in euros. All other periods on request. Short lets (2 or 3 days, weekends) can sometimes be arranged in low season but are very difficult during July/August as they block full rental weeks in what are the most highly demanded months
May, June and September are beautiful months in Cadaques. The weather is lovely and yet it's quieter than high season. I have priced these months to encourage guests to try 'shoulder season'

In order to secure a booking a deposit of 30% is required
