We all loved Sonja's wonderful gite. Weather was extremely warm, Sonja thoughtfully left us plenty of fans and the pool was delightful to cool down in. Our dog Tia made friends with Hiccup (Sonja's Dog) who popped in to visit now and again. We could not ask for anything better and will certainly be making a further visit next year.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL
This gite is wonderful, half an hour walk along the river into the town, but so quiet. The property was immaculate as was the pool and garden area, all down to Sonja who was so helpful, she could'nt do enough for us, even getting a couple of bikes so we could get around, she is such a lovely lady as is Hiccup her gorgeous little dog.
There are plenty of cafe/bars and restaurants in the town for all tastes, also a trip to Sarlat is a must. We had the most amazing stay here so much so we have booked for next year, everything you could ask for.
We look forward to seeing Sonja and Hiccup next year. Can't wait.

As close to perfect as possible
For peace and relaxation look no further. The house was spotless and very well equipped. It's the little things that make the difference, the way the pool was checked each day, small pots of flowers on outside tables, but it shows how much Sonja cares about the house and guest's holiday. Hiccup is such a lovely and well behaved dog, not to mention cute, gives you a welcome when you return and then goes back to her own house. Would we return again, without doubt!! We even tried to book for same time next year but sadly dates had already gone, and that says everything about this place.
Many thanks Sonya, we loved every moment here.

A lovely give in a beautiful area
We could not find any faults with this gite. It was clean, comfortable and well appointed inside with everything that was needed for our stay. What can I say about the outside? The pool is just perfect on a hot day, and the views are magnificent. The patio was just the place for me to have breakfast in the morning and read to relax at other times. Sonja is a fantastic host. She is very friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area and the best places to go. Try the night market which is held in the town of Le Bugue every Tuesday night. You get a fabulous choice of food dishes for about 8 euros each and a nice bottle of wine for approx 5 euros. There is live music in both English and French, so there is something for both the traveler and the native French people. Everyone mixes and we had a great night. Make sure that you say hello to Hiccup, Sonja's little dog. She's a little cutie and she likes a bit of leftovers! All that is left for us to say is thank you Sonja for a lovely week. We loved the cottage and greatly enjoyed touring this lovely part of France. Cheers from the Saunders family. X

The cottage is well equipped , very clean , has a lovely setting . Sonia is very welcoming & had provided many extras in the cottage to make our stay more enjoyable . The swimming pool was an added bonus on the hot days . I would definitely recommend the cottage & hope we might return again another year .

About the host
Hosted by sonja meerburg
I moved from Holland to the Dordogne 16 years ago. We had our own hotel in Holland and needed to get away from the stress of running your own business.. We speak Dutch, English and German and off course French . From owning a hotel in Holland we know what holiday makers are looking for when they go on holiday. I try to give every comfort and we are always ready to help in anyway.
Why they chose this property
For the holiday makers who do not know the Dordogne, it is a lovely part of France...........many historic villages, castles, bastides and beautiful country site. Le Bugue and surroundings are especially beautiful as the rivers Vezere and Dordogne flow gently thru the country site.
What makes this property unique
Comfort, close to Le Bugue.............everything you need you can walk plus the cottage is a quiet surrounding. Pets are very welcome
