HighGrange is over 5,000 sq ft of internal space boasting 6 bedrooms all en-suite, 4 entertaining spaces, large kitchen & dining room. The barn combines rustic and contemporary loft styles. The design allowed us to create a holiday home with all the comforts and gadgets you are used, in an amazing space which retains original features like exposed stone walls, floors and oak beams. Each bedroom has been styled with its own individual colour scheme, fabrics, bespoke furniture and art work. The kitchen is professionally equipped, with double Smeg oven and 5 burner gas hob, American fridge with ice maker. The dining room easily entertains 12 people. The barn has Wifi Internet and iPod Soundsticks music system. With 4 luxurious entertaining spaces (Lounge, Mezzanine, Palier and Gallery) you'll be spoilt for choice on where to relax inside the barn. With cathedral spaces the barn is naturally lit during the day, and at night custom uplighting to beams, stairs and mood lighting creates a unique atmosphere. The barn is in gated grounds and is not overlooked. There is over an acre of south facing garden with wrap around terrace (over 1500 sq ft) and not forgetting our swimming pool with its own sunbathing terrace. The barn enjoys uninterrupted panoramic views over the fabulous Morvan Hills. With direct sunshine from dawn till dusk, you can see why people describe High Grange as Burgundy's best barn. Our barn is located in a hamlet with other properties being owned by parisians.

About The Owner

HighGrangeBarn was renovated using local artisans and was completed in 2010. The barn was architecturally designed to our ideas to create a stunning holiday home for our friends & family to enjoy. We now share selected weeks when we are not at the barn for others to enjoy. As a family we oversaw every step of the renovation. As parents to young children we ensured the barn was great for families and adults alike. We call it our home from home!

Why The Owner chose Nievre

Having stayed in the area we fell in love with the stunning views and countryside which is the Morvan National Park. We were in good company most of our neighbours are from Paris & Lyon, who chose to have holiday homes around us. We set out to turn a derelict barn into the perfect holiday home for families & friends. The barn has total privacy, something we wanted for the perfect getaway.

What makes this barn unique

Each bedroom suite is designed and furnished so each room is unique and with an ensuite modern bathroom to each room it's the perfect place to stay with friends & family. Enjoy our entertaining spaces that actually cater for everyone staying in the barn. All the character of a rural french property including exposed beams & stone walls, yet offering all the space and modern facilities you need to enjoy a holiday in France. No need for a heated pool, our pool is situated in our south facing gardens and naturally draws heat from the ground around making it the perfect place to take a swim to cool off on those long summer days. With a large terrace around the pool and barn, again there is plenty of space to enjoy summer days and alfresco dining.

The location was lovely, the village perfect to do our local shopping. The barn is lovely, very modern and plush. We felt very fortunate to be staying somewhere so special. You will want for nothing here, the owners have really thought of everything and it made our stay perfect. The size of the barn enables the family to break out, the wifi meant that the older kids were happy to keep in touch back home via facebook. Perfect!

Booking Notes:
After your enquiry we will direct you to our electronic booking system. There is a non-returnable deposit of 30%, once we have received this we will issue a booking confirmation. The balance is due not less than eight weeks prior to arrival. We also require a security deposit which will be payable as deposit against damage/breakages (which be fully or partly repaid after departure).

Changeover day is Saturday for dates shown above. All other rental periods contact us.

Notes on accommodation: No smoking and no pets. The barn has private parking for 6 cars. Wifi internet access throughout the barn (bring own laptop). We have iPod Compatible Speaker System (bring own iPod) providing music inside and out. We also have a full size cot, toddler bed, one of the bunk beds has safe guard sides as well, highchair with cushion, booster seats, playpen and safety mats. We have toys and games suitable for young babies to teenagers (who will love the PS2 with games, new for 2015 Wii, wheel & games plus adult size football table). Set over 3 floors, this luxury architect-designed barn has almost 4,500 square feet of top-quality accommodation, including a cathedral space over the main lounge, 6 Large Bedrooms all with en-suite bath or shower and three enormous entertaining spaces. Outside: South facing garden overlooking the Morvan Hills. New private swimming pool with immersion security system conforming to French Safety Regulations. 1,500 sq ft terrace with contemporary outside lights and pool lighting. 3 meter teak table and chairs seating 16+ people. We also have a dedicated BBQ area overlooking the pool for alfresco dining. Poolside we boast a large wrap around terrace with plenty of contemporary style loungers. We also have extra large (3.3 meter) sun parasols plus UV sun tent for kids providing ample shade. The barn has nearly an acre of garden. The well equipped kitchen means entertaining for 12+ people is very simple, we also provide acrylic glasses (champagne, wine and highball) perfect for around the pool! We have a range of toys for the pool including diving games, water guns, inflatables, noodles and floaties swim seat and noodle for younger children. Utility Room: Located on the ground floor this is a separate room in the barn with toilet, sink, washing machine and large wine fridge. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Quality white bed linen and large towels included. If you stay for 2 weeks we include a midstay linen and towel change and light clean. Other: Mezzanine with two 4 seater leather sofas, 2 matching armchairs, 32’ LCD TV with UK TV. 3rd Floor Gallery has 2 leather sofas, 28' LCD TV and PS2. Outside, 1,500sqft terrace wraps the barn offering extensive space for alfresco dining for 16+ people.
