Farmhouse in St Kew, Wadebridge, Cornwall, England - 'Enjoy Pure Relaxation At Its Very Best....And Be Spoilt'

This exclusive Cornish hideaway is called 'Maidenland' and from the outside is a typical Cornish double fronted house with a classic Georgian slate-hung facade. Inside, the farmhouse has been stylishly transformed, now equipped with every home comfort, whilst retaining its period charm. Slate floors, large fireplaces, sash windows, window seats and a 'creamy' decor enhance the feeling of rustic elegance. The new, well equipped 'cooks' kitchen opens onto a spacious dining room with a feature fireplace and log burner. Also off the kitchen is a lovely TV snug. The stylish lounge, decorated in pale blues and creams, has another log burner, large comfy sofas and is the perfect place to relax with family and friends. Upstairs the four bedrooms and two bathrooms are appointed to the very highest standards. In the summer, dine alfresco, under the pergola by the wonderful heated swimming pool (heated from May 1st to mid-September) and enjoy Cornwall at its best.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking, with the balance being due 6 weeks before the start of the holiday.

Notes on accommodation: No smoking inside the property. Dogs are allowed at the property. However, we do respectfully asked that dogs are kept downstairs (and preferably within the tiled areas). For more photographs and floor plans of the property, please see owners webiste link at the bottom. Outside: The property benefits from a large cottage garden with horses in adjoining fields. There is a wonderfully secluded private swimming pool which is heated from 1st May each year. Parasols and comfortable loungers with cushions are provided so that you can comfortably relax and enjoy spending time with your family or friends. (Pool towels are provided.) A fantastic pub, called the St Kew Inn, is just a stroll away down the lane and serves lovely lunches and dinners. A selection of other restaurants are just a five minute drive away. (The owners are happy to provide details of their favorite local restaursants with price points etc) . Utility Room: There is a big boot room with a large coat cupboard and washing machine and leads to a downstairs cloakroom. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Quality bedlinen, towels and toiletries are all provided. On arrival there will be a complimentary basket or Cornish 'goodies' to spoil you! Other: The TV 'snug' is a great addition to the home, providing comfy seating to watch your TV favourite programmes or simply read a book.

Absolutely fabulous!

We had a fantastic week in Cornwall and the house was perfect...even my husband was impressed and he's a well seasoned traveller!! The attention to detail was amazing with everything from a personalised hamper on arrival to an abundance of lovely large fluffy towels. Owners were quick to respond to queries and very accommodating with check-in times. My two boys loved the place and they each had their own room. Close enough to all the good beaches but felt like we were properly away from it all. Local pub served great food was very welcoming. Thoroughly recommend!

We spent our honeymoon here. A fabulous house with privacy and peace. The personal touches and attention to detail meant we wanted for nothing. In fact it was difficult to go out for the day! The pool is amazing and was used come rain or shine. Our grandchildren and dogs had a ball. Thank you. I would return year after year! The St Kew inn at the end of the lane was a delight with delicious food.

What a gorgeous house and garden

We have a marvellous, relaxing holiday in this beautiful property. So well appointed with everything we needed, even charcoal for the BBQ! The pool area was so sheltered that even tho the weather wasn't great (I don't suppose we can blame Jacqueline for that!!) we still managed a couple of sunbathing days. Highly recommended

Maidenland was bought by us as our Cornish bolthole; a perfect place to escape to from our normal, urban lives. We have spent many years enjoying its fabulous location, just a short drive from some stunning Cornish beaches.

Why Mrs J. Derbyshire chose Saint Kew

The heated swimming pool sets Maidenland into a class of its own. The pool is for the sole use of guests staying at the house and is totally enclosed in a high stone wall, offering privacy and safety. The pool is open from May to mid-September, weather permitting.

The house has been renovated to a high standard and offers a luxury holiday experience without being pretentious. It's a perfect location to use as a base to discover the stunning Cornish countryside and coast, being just a 10 minute drive from the sea.

We are happy to allow guests to bring well-behaved dogs as we believe the family dog is an important part of a family holiday !

Special interest holidays:

Always lots to do...extensive sandy beaches stretch along the North coast on either side of the Camel Estuary, with Polzeath and Daymer, two renowned surfing beaches within six miles of Tregoid. The Camel Trail, now forming an exclusive route for cyclists, runs from Padstow inland to the edge of Bodmin Moor. There are many other routes and footpaths leading through some of the most spectacular coastal scenery between Tintagel and Polzeath. Celebrating a special occasion or just would like to do something different? Why not let us organise a special horse and carriage ride for you through the countryside with a memorable picnic?


The coast is just a five minute drive away with an array of shops and resturants.


The nearest airport is Newquay which is a 20 minute drive. There is also an international airport at Plymouth which is a 1 hour drive. Both airports have car hire. There is a mainline railway station at Bodmin Parkway about 14 miles.


Rock, with its sailing and water skiing facilities, lies on the North Bank of the beautiful Camel Estuary six miles away, where there is a ferry across to picturesque Padstow, where you will find Rick Stein's seafood restaurant. The pretty fishing village of Port Isaac is approximately three miles away on the breathtaking North Cornish coastline whilst the upcoming former market town of Wadebridge is some four miles away.

Further Details:

From Wadebridge take the A39 to the North towards Camelford/Bude. Fork left into St Kew Highway and follow the road past the garage, turning sharp left immediately after the Red Lion public house. Take the first turning on the left towards St Kew and the property will be found after a short distance on the right hand side.
