Apartment in Larnaca, Cyprus - less than 5 Minutes Walk to the Beach, Shops and Historic Buildings

This bright open plan apartment offers you a perfect base for your self catering holiday. From the balcony, you have sea views over the rooftops and the mosque, with its minaret, adds character to this very well located, spotlessly clean apartment. Close by are the ancient St Lazarus Church and a Medieval fort. The area is full of both Cypriot and international shops, such as Benetton, Wallis, Next and Zara, to name but a few. Mackenzie fishing shelter is just 15 minutes walk away, where you will find plenty of fish restaurants, serving fresh fish of the day. Larnaca is also a good kicking off point for other places of interest on the island: Nicosia, the capital city, still divided since the 1974 invasion, is a 45 kilometres drive, the cosmopolitan town of Limassol is 66 kilometres away and Ayia Napa is 41 kilometres away. Drive through the traditional villages on the slopes of the Troodos Mountains in 40 minutes. The apartment is also just 13 minutes from the international airport.

We are two senior citizens who have just had a holiday in this very clean apartment. We were met at the airport by the manager and her husband, taken to the accommodation and shown how everything worked. We have felt comfortable and relaxed. The complimentary water and wine were much appreciated.

It is in a most convenient position for all amenities. All shops and restaurants are close by and the beach is five minutes away. We give it five stars.

Notes on accommodation: The air-conditioning can also be used to heat the apartment in the colder months. You do not need to hire a car when renting our property. Outside: There is a balcony running along the front of the building that can be accessed both from the patio doors in the living area and from the twin bedroom. The balcony has ornate railings and a small table and two chairs. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels (not beach towels) are included on arrival and laundered on departure, cleaning and additional laundry can be offered and is payable locally. Other: Entrance area has double cupboard for additional storage.

Great location, near to local amenities and beach!!

Apartment was clean with all necessary equipment - microwave, washing machine, oven etc,

There was a TV but no English channels but there was plenty of DVD's in the apartment.

Plenty of choice to eat out nearby and a good selection of bars.

Would definitely stay again.

Apartment Larnaca

We had a 10 day stay in the apartment and everything was as it says on the web site, the apartment had all the things you needed as advertised, was clean and tidy.

The apartment was in walking distance to the beach, there are many cafe and restaurants,and a super market , around the apartment, and you don't need a car as the bus services are good to get to other parts of Cyprus.

The apartment owner and the manager where most helpful and obliging before and during our stay.

Although we managed it would have been helpful to have wifi in the apartment.

All in all it was a good time.

A nice place to stay for both relaxing and having a great fun time.

Me and my girlfriend were there for 2 weeks in the end of september and we really enjoyed it. the place have a lot to see and experince with many both cheap and more nice and expensive places to eat at the promenade along the beachline. We enjoyed the food, beers and drinks which you can get at all the restaurants but besides that they have a variaty of bars in the area aswell. Some of the bars is definitly more popular and crowded than others so somethimes you would have to look for while to find some company if thats what you want. The place dont really have clubbing or party so if this is what you want you can take a cheap busride for 45 min to Ayia napa where the streets are filled with culbs and open bars. The room has all you need, with movies, bord games and book, and some extra equipment to bring to the beach or go snorkling. It´s nice and big for 2 people, but 4 or 5 is also possible if you dont mind living close to eachtother and sharing 1 bathroom. The only thing really missing in the room was Wifi, and a larger frig especially if you´re staying more than 2 people. And be carefull not to clog the toilet :)

Special interest holidays:

Larnaca Salt lake is a short drive away, where you can see the migrating birds in the Spring; in Autumn, the flocks of flamingos, which winter on the lake, make a spectacular sight. There is a pathway from the bottom of the lake to the top where the old viaduct is. Along the way, you can find a hide for bird watching and markers to tell you the plant names. There is also a BBQ area for all to use.

For those interested in archeology, Cyprus is the perfect place: Ancient Kition is in Larnaca itself and the Perides Museum has a good display of artefacts; Choirokoitia, a UNESCO site, is just 19 miles. Kourion, Kolossi and Salamis are all easy day trips. The eleven Byzantine Churches with their painted frescoes in the high Troodos are all UNESCO sites, although you will only manage to see 3-4 in one day as they are in remote, but beautiful, places.

Coast/Beach:

Larnaca beach, with its palm-lined promenade, is within 5 minutes walk away. This safe, sandy beach runs from the Medieval fort to the marina. Bars and restaurants line the road. A short ten minute drive away in either direction are other beaches with sandy beaches with restaurants overlooking the sea.

Travel:

Larnaca airport is just 10 minutes drive from the apartment. A car is not essential. There is a good bus service to Nicosia, Lemosos, the airport and surrounding villages from the sea front.

Distances:

Nicosia is 45km, Troodos mountain range is 110km, Limassol is 66 Km and Ayia Napa 41km. Mountain villages on lower slopes of Troodos are thirty minutes drive away and provide a spectacular views and delighful ambience.

Further Details:

On the promenade, you will find restaurants that provide a variety of eating places, from traditional Cypriot food with kelftiko and fish meze, to KFC, TGI'S. MacDonald's, Pizza Hut, and steak restaurants. There are money exchanges, mini-markets, a small indoor market and an internet cafe all within a few minutes walk.
