About the Owner

We had been looking for a place in the south of France for several years and fell in love the first time we saw Le Trabet with its stone facade and blue window shutters.

As to ourselves, we have traveled far and wide. We were both born in Germany where we attended the university. We have lived in Wales and the US and are now happy to be at this beautiful property in the unspoiled countryside of the Aude province.

I spent nearly a week at Le Trabet and could not recommend a place any more! The property is absolutely gorgeous and furnished with taste, the owners are kind and extremely invested in the property and making sure guests have the best stay possible, and the nearby towns are accessible and quaint. There is enough to do both on and outside the property (not to mention a great pool!). Stay here if you want to truly experience countryside France!

Fabulous holiday!

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to stay with friends! We've just had a wonderful week staying in L'Olivier - plenty of space for us to have a room each, fantastic grounds, fabulous pool, and scorchio to boot. Claudia and Rainaldt were great hosts: welcoming and helpful but not intrusive. They created a relaxed, hospitable altmosphere in their charming home. One of the best gites I have stayed at: really well equipped and large spacious rooms. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding countryside spectavular Carassonne but also Narbonne and the coast and the wonderful nearby Montolieu: town of second hand/antique bookshops. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Best place to stay in the Languedoc area!

  • 5 of 5

A charming property in the middle of a beautiful and quite countryside. Everything in Le Trabet is impressively spacious, confortable and immaculate: the bedrooms and bathrooms, the very well equipped kitchen and the large living room. Everything is as good as it looks in the photographs. There's also a magnificent swimming pool, a huge park and even a real barbecue place! Whether by walking, hiking, bike (provided) or by car, exploring the area is just exciting and there are lots of wonderful spots to discover not very far away, starting with Carcassonne, the fortified city on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

I would most certainly recommend this property to my friends.

Nice and cosy apts-the location was just perfect

  • 5 of 5

This place proved to be an ideal location to relax and for cultural visits to Carcassone as well as its surroundings, whichcan easily be combined with sportive activities like rural cycling and swimming. The apartments are spacious and wellcoming. They were clean, well-equiped for all your needs and everything was acording to the description. The landlord , a lovely woman, was extremely friendly, open and was alwalys willing to help with whatever questions one might have. She gave us lots of useful advice for daytime activities, short trips and excursions. I can only recommend this place and would absolutely stay here again!

Trės belle demeure

  • 5 of 5

Amazing holidays

  • 5 of 5

We spent two weeks at Domaine Le Trabet with my wife and our three children as well as my in-laws. The time spent in the gîte L'Olivier was fantastic: the house is very spacious, my parents-in-law had their bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor and we were upstairs in three bedrooms.

The swimming pool was renovated earlier this year and is fabulous, it is quite large and very clean. The entire park was being looked after nicely and the roses were beginning to bloom. There is an assortment of bicycles and helmets one can use free of charge. The owner, Claudia, supplied us with all kinds of useful information about the region and the places to discover, thanks again!

All in all, this place is ideal for large family gatherings during the holidays - we're already dreaming of going back .

Absolutely lovely

  • 5 of 5

The owners of Olivier were incredibly accommodating and friendly. The house was in immaculate condition, nicely decorated and completely clean throughout.

Cooking in the kitchen was a real pleasure, as there is just about every utensil imaginable in the kitchen.

We had a great week making use of the patio and the pool area, and there was plenty of room for 8 of us inside when it (unfortunately) rained.

I would definitely advise getting a car, there is lots to see and do in and around the region and it's a 20 minute walk to the nearest village.

From the Owner

Le Trabet used to be a winery, dating back to the 18th century. The Domaine has been painstakingly restored to accommodate three luxurious gites. The estate is set in a small park with establishes trees, shrubs and hedges. The infinity swimming pool is fabulous. This is a superb property located right in the unspoiled countryside of the Aude province. As a photographer, I take advantage capturing the many beautiful details - or I just sit down with a good cup of coffee and enjoy the view… Please see for yourself and take a look at some of the photos on our website Le Trabet.

From the Owner

There are over 250 years of history here and with it comes a sense of enduring quality: this is a house of stone which was built to last. Blue window shutters and wrought-iron gates pick up the color of the sky. An old barn with its wine cellar points to the former role as wine-making estate. And then there is the large swimming pool, the park with its huge trees, a magnificent view of the Montagnes Noires and the snowy peaks of the Pyrenees in the distance - What more could one want … There are numerous fantastic restaurants to discover, quaint ones and grandiose ones too: five Michelin-star restaurants are in the vicinity. Not to forget the ancient ruins and Cathar castles ! And of course there is the unforgettable sound of the wind that plays with the palm trees -
