Apartment in Duingt, Lake Annecy, Haute Savoie - On Lake Annecy Shore With Spectacular Views and Lake Access

Le Pavillon du Lac, set on the shores of Lake Annecy, enjoys private lake access for secluded swimming and water fun, and great views of the Alps and lake from its two large balconies. Located on the second floor, this spacious 58 square metre one bedroom apartment is ideal for a couple but can also accommodate two additional people on a comfortable sofa bed in the living room. The apartment is situated in the pretty village of Duingt on the eastern side of the lake some 10km south of the historic town of Annecy. Duingt has been listed in the book 'Les Plus Beaux Villages de France' as one of the most beautiful villages in France. It has a boulangerie and a newsagent (4 mins walk from the property), three restaurants and boat hire. The Annecy to Albertville bicycle path passes within 20m to the rear of the property. Duingt is a stopping point (250m from apartment) for the foot passenger ferry that sails between Annecy and several locations around the lake (in season only).

We had a fantastic week. The apartment was lovely and there was so much to do there, what a fantastic location. The lake was very refreshing and much needed as it got quite hot and the sun was very strong. We miss the local bakery a lot - we carried a bag full of croissants and pain au chocolates back on the plane for friends and family! Jane and Andy Herts.

We had a really good holiday. We loved the apartment with it's stunning views and admired the way you had furnished it. It was enjoyable being able to relax and look out at the lake. The information you had provided proved most useful and we followed a number of your suggestions for excursions. One place nearby which we particularly enjoyed was Talloires. On our final night we were able to stand on the balcony and watch a firework display and concert, grand finale! Geoff and Ruth Herts

Notes on accommodation: The apartment was completed in late 2009 following the renovation of a former lakeside hotel into eight exclusive apartments finished to high standards. It is fully equipped, has central heating, barrier access private parking reserved for apartment guests only and is suitable for children. Secure bike and ski storage is also available. The apartment has 58sq.m of living space. Regrettably, no pets allowed and there is a strict no smoking policy. A car or access to some other form of transportation is recommended. Outside: There are two large private balconies overlooking Lake Annecy and the Alps which include an outside table with 5 chairs allowing you to dine alfresco. The balconies provide ample space to relax, sunbathe and admire the fantastic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The main Annecy/ Albertville road, which can be busy and noisy at times, runs between the apartment block and the lake. The private access to the lake (some 30m in front of the apartment) is via an exclusive foot tunnel (with security pass access) running beneath the road. There is a locked storage area for bikes, skis or other equipment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included. They will be changed per booking and the property cleaned after each departure. Washing machine available in apartment if you prefer to have towels and linen washed more frequently. Other: On the main balcony there is an outside table with 5 chairs allowing you to dine alfresco. Both balconies are an excellent place to soak up the sun or relax in the evenings and admire the beautiful views of the lake and mountain

Stunning Location

This was our second stay in Gill's apartment and it was as good as our first time. The apartment has everything - beautiful views of the mountains, grandstand seat for all the water sports taking place on the lake, close to a friendly family owned boulangerie and the medieval heart of the village, convenient to catch the boat round the lake, and within easy reach of all the exciting activities in the area. The apartment is airy, comfortable and well equipped with secure parking so makes a great base either to stay and visit the local area or go further afield. Gill's friendly but extremely efficient booking arrangements made booking the apartment simple and straightforward. As other reviewers have already said - we will be back!

A truly fabulous apartment

What a perfect apartment - We are now totally in love with Annecy and its stunning lake. The view from the apartment is just amazing - We sat for hours just looking out from the balcony! The location is great - we hired bikes for the week and it was so easy to just cycle up the side of the apartment and join the bike path. We cycled to Talloires twice, spending the day in the local beach (brilliant for a toddler with its paddling pool) It was very easy to get to supermarkets and we took it in turns, every morning, to walk, with our daughter, to the really friendly bakery in the village.

The apartment was really clean and tidy and had everything we needed. It is on the main road, which can be super busy, but the double glazing is brilliant and we slept really well (as did our little one!)

Annecy - we will be back!

Super! Great apartment in a quiet, convenient spot

We had a super time in Duingt. Gill's apartment is lovely - it's well laid out, with everything you could possibly need. The views are spectacular. Yes, it's located on a busy road, but we knew that and knew the road. We weren't bothered by it at all. The Annecy to Albertville bike path is situated just behind the apartment. Duingt is charming. Highly recommended!

Stunning views

This is a comfortable, clean and attractive apartment with stunning views over Lake Annecy and the mountains. The open plan sitting room, kitchen and dining area with three french doors on to the balcony was perfect. Secure parking was also a bonus as was the private swimming area just across the road. It was a great home for a week while we enjoyed cycling, walking, boating, swimming and paragliding - the highlight of our week. I have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Best holiday in France ever

As frequent visitors to France, we have spent many great holidays all over this beautiful country. However I have to say, that our last visit to this apartment in Duingt has to be the best yet! The apartment is lovely, modern, clean and comfortable. The guide that Gill sent prior to our holiday, was very helpful and there is further information at the apartment about the facilities and activities nearby.

The view from the apartment balcony is as breath taking as the picture shown in the property picture, the lake is really as blue as that. The weather was hot and sunny all week and there is nothing better than having breakfast and evening drinks on the balcony watching people on the lake or the paragliders floating down from the mountains.

There is so much to do, from activities on the lake, day trips to Mont Blanc and Switzerland to the water ferry to Annecy and surrounding villages. Food wise, there is also lots of choice, from bread and croissants from the local boulangerie, to well stocked supermarkets for eating in and excellent restaurants for eating out. The local people are friendly and very helpful.

We had a perfect stay and cannot wait to return to this beautiful apartment.

A beautiful location on the shores of lake Annecy

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Duingt. The property is located with superb lake views and immediately next to the Annecy cycle route.(a wonderful traffic free route from Annecy to Albertville.

We hardly used our car as each day we cycled to one of the many lovely locations. Annecy is 12k away and there is a glorious ride ride round the lake. On return we sat with a glass of wine taking in the views on the balcony.

The apartment is really nicely set up and was a delight to visit. Very clean and light with all the amenities.

Gill, the owner could not have been more helpful and responded quickly to our questions or request

In addition the beautiful old village is a 2min walk on quiet streets. There we found a lovely boulangerie and local Tabac which we adopted as our local. Each morning buying bread and then into the tabs for a coffee. A lovely bit of French culture.

The apartment is next to the lake, which also means next to the road, there can be some traffic noise, but, the double glazing totally cuts this out and we sat on the balcony every day and after 24hours the traffic is completely forgotten

I really hope to return to this property and Thank Gill for making it available to us.

Le Pavillon du Lac enjoys access to a private swimming area in the crystal clear waters of the lake via an exclusive foot tunnel under the road between the apartment and the lake. Lake Annecy has been referred to as Europe's cleanest lake and is often described as the most beautiful lake in France. Circled by stunning mountains, it's a great base for year round mountain sports, as well as a great variety of water sports.


Geneva International - 58 km - approx. 1 hour. Lyon airport is approx 1hour 30 minutes. You can also fly to Grenoble and Chambery although these may only be available during the ski season. Easyjet fly to Geneva from Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, Edinburgh and Glasgow and to Lyon from Gatwick, Stansted and Edinburgh. RyanAir fly to Genoble from Stansted (ski season only). The nearest railway is Annecy. Eurostar from St. Pancras International, Ebsfleet or Ashford to Paris and TGV to Annecy.


Annecy - 10kms. Doussard - 5kms. Geneva - 55kms.

Further Details:

Duingt - a charming village with rustic Savoyard character. Boulangerie, newsagent (English papers in summer), cafe and three restaurants within walking distance of the apartment. Supermarkets and restaurants for all food tastes can be found within a short drive. There are several local outdoor markets to visit in the neighbouring villages and in Annecy itself. These markets are a must to enjoy the atmosphere of Haute Savoie and to sample some regional produce. Duingt is also the home of three chateaux, one is in ruins but Chateau de Ruphy (11th century) and Chateau de Dhere (15th century) are inhabited.

Annecy - a beautiful medieval town with lots of character, cobbled streets and picturesque waterways, is some 10 km up the lake from Duingt. Often referred to as the 'Venice of the Alps', Annecy provides a wide range of shops, including art and antique shops, and has many restaurants for tourists to sample the cuisine of Haute Savoie. You can get there by car, bus, bike or by the foot passenger ferry that sails (in the Summer months) between Annecy and several locations around the lake, including Duingt.

The lake provides a wide variety of watersport from swimming, sailing, and water ski-ing to windsurfing, boating, canoeing and pedalos. Tourist boat rides, around the lake, are available in season. The mountains beyond provide stunning scenery as well as ski-ing, mountain biking, walking, climbing, luge-runs, parasailing, handgliding, canyoning and adventure high-wire.

The Annecy to Albertville cycle path passes within 20m of the rear of the apartment. Providing 36 kms of car-free cycle path on a former railway line running down the eastern side of the lake, the path offers some super views of the lake and access to many quiet side roads allowing the easy use of bikes to explore the surrounding countryside and the many quaint villages and picnic spots. There are a number of bike shops in the vicinity.

Tennis courts are availabe in the immediate area.
