Family Ski Apartment in Les Deux Alpes, Rhone-Alpes, France - Quiet Central Location, Close to all Amenities

Le Waala 31 is located near the centre of the village, and enjoys a quiet and peaceful position cut into the hillside. Comfortably sleeps four, with a well-appointed kitchen, new bathroom and a cosy living area. There's ample cupboard space and a ground floor ski locker. The nearest ski lifts are just across the road from the apartment and it's possible to ski to within 50 yards of the door. South-facing balcony with views over the resort and surrounding mountains. Quiet location with free adjacent parking.

About the Owner

I live on the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex with my wife Aura, our daughter Catherine and a collie dog called Merlin. I work in the rail industry, and speak a bit of French and a bit more German.

I bought the apartment in partnership with my sister in December 2003, since when it has given us a great deal of pleasure. We all use it regularly, and we recently refurbished it with a new kitchen and bathroom.

We have many happy customers and friends who come back every year and we hope that you will enjoy your stay as much as we do.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your apartment. It was clean, warm and very comfortable. It was our first time in Les Deux Alpes and found it relaxed with lovely restaurants, bars and much cheaper than other resorts. Thank you very much for recommending Luca – who is an absolutely fantastic instructor …. told me ‘youra technico is brilliant but youra brain isa rubbisha!! We really enjoyed his lessons and as you warned quite a character!

I have been into skiing and mountain walking for years, and always wanted to buy a small place in the Alps to feed my passion. Les 2 Alpes was a clear winner since it has such extensive and 'authentic' skiing (by this I mean lots of unprepared trails and routes, in addition to the miles of groomed pistes) and has a number of world-class neighbouring resorts, not least the back-country mecca of La Grave.

Nearest Airport : Grenoble Isere at 110 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Opposite at 50 Metres Nearest Ferry : Calais at 934 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Les 2 Alpes at 500 Metres Nearest Train : Grenoble at 69 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Across the road at 50 Metres Car: recommended


Grenoble airport is 90 mins drive, and Lyon 2 hours. There is a cheap, regular and reliable bus service from Grenoble airport to Les 2 Alpes, and a dearer charter operation from Lyon.

Grenoble railway station (TGV direct from Paris/Lille for Eurostar connections) is an hour away, and again has a solid bus service direct to the resort. The buses even stop right outside our flat! Driving time from the channel ports is approx 8 hours if you put your foot down.


Everything you need for a brilliant ski holiday is right on your doorstep.

Further Details:

The village centre and all amenities are between two and ten minutes walk away, depending on what you want. Banks, supermarkets (two) and a number of restaurants are within 2 minutes walk of the front door.

Booking Notes:
Please see my calendar for availability. It's completely 'first come - first served', and you can arrive/depart on any day of the week. There is a credit card security deposit payable locally to the lady who will meet you, give you the keys and show you the apartment. A 25% deposit will secure your booking, with full payment four weeks prior to arrival, unless you book less than four weeks in advance and then full payment will secure the booking.

Changeover Day:
Completely flexible. Open to negotiation for short-notice bookings.

Notes on prices:
Prices are per week in GB pounds. For shorter or longer stays, simply calculate the pro rata price by dividing the week rate by 7 and multiplying by the number of nights you'd like to stay.

The mountains here are stunning, and tower above you like giant sentinels. I love sitting on the balcony in spring time, watching the sun dip behind them after a great day's skiing. Also, I like being 50 yards from the chairlift and skiing back to the front door in the evening. And the apartment is always nice and warm, which helps.
