House in Siorac En Perigord, Perigord Noir, Dordogne, France - in a small hamlet, Within Easy Reach Of Beautiful Hilltop Village

The detached house is very attractive and was built using the lovely golden stone often used in the Perigord Noir. There are lovely views from most of the light and airy rooms and it is a very well equipped comfortable house. The private attractive garden is ideal for eating outside, relaxation or play and there is a small above ground pool which would be in use (from June until October). It is (15 ft diameter) which is lovely for those hot sunny days in which to cool off and which provides plenty of fun for the children. There is a small road which runs through the hamlet, but has very little traffic and if you are a lover of golf there are 2 golf courses only 5 and 10 minutes walk away. Siorac and the medieval town of Belves are only a 5-10 minute drive away. There is a supermarket and a very good restaurant in Siorac. In the medieval town of Belves there are several small shops, restaurants and bars.

Why Jean Koffman chose Siorac-en-Périgord

We began searching France for a holiday home in 2001 and eventually decided on the Dordogne because of the weather and there are so many beautiful and historic places to visit, such as Beynac, La Roque Gageac, Sarlat and many more.

What makes this house unique

Originally we were looking for an old French cottage, but there didn't seem to be many in our price range. The Estate Agent took us around "Le Pigeonier" and changed our minds about an old property. We liked the fact that it was do light and airy, whereas old properties are a little bit dark and musty. The property is very convenient for all the beauty spots and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.

Notes on accommodation: There are electric heaters for chilly days and the heating is included in the price. Outside: Lovely gardens to the the front, sides and rear,with outdoor furniture and barbecue. Small above ground private unheated pool (15ft diameter) from June to October Utility Room: In the basement there is a washing machine, a small kitchen for making drinks and a fridge/freezer Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Bedlinen and towels are the price. We ask that the house is left as clean and tidy as when you arrive. Other: On the lowest level there is another comfortable lounge close to the pool. Which is useful when the children are playing in the pool and is nice and cool when the temperatures are at their highest in July and August.

Fell in love with it as soon as we arrived. Very well equipped. Central for all the places we wanted to visit. We even had a deer pop in!

Fabulous house. Pool a godsend. Basement lounge so useful. House really clean and well appointed. Comfortable beds and furniture. Garden ideal for sun or shade. Location quiet but not isolated. Nearby river beaches were great. Sarlat a must visit. Don't miss Souillac for restaurants, water park and market - automaton museum was weird (good weird!!).The website description totally accurate. Supermarket very near. I could not recommend this house too highly. Have been taking privately owned houses in France for 20 years plus and never had one better and the owners were extremely helpful. To sum up on return to UK in 2012 knew couldn't book 2013 but booked 2014, 2 years in advance - enough said!

A Great Property

Due to commitments at home we were looking for a property with a flexible start date as so many insist on a Saturday change over. The owners were very helpful and we were able to start our holiday on Monday. The property description was accurate and on arrival the house was as we had expected from the description.

The location of the property is perfect for visiting many of the attractions in the Dordogne. We were only at the property for 5 days, but in that time we visited 3 ch?teau and went kayaking along the Dordogne river and probably didn't travel further than around 25 miles from the property.

Although situated along a quiet contry lane with probably no more than half a dozen passing cars per day, within a five minute drive you are in Siorac with a large supermarket and other amenities and also canoe/kayak hire. Our two kids loved the pool, as did we. The house was very well equipped and we wanted for nothing. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit this area of the Dordogne.

The Perfect Holiday!

We stayed for 2 weeks at this beautiful, relaxing holiday home, and we already cannot wait to go back! We visited with our 2 year old daughter, so the enclosed garden and pool were perfect for her. The house itself was very well equipped and had everything we needed. Ideal location on a very peaceful lane, but just a 5 minute drive to Siorac, which is a very pretty little town and has a great bakery and takeaway pizza place. We visited somewhere different every morning, and never had to drive more than 30 minutes, so again, a great location to see lots of the Dordogne. The owners could not have been more helpful and provided lots of information and accommodated us in every way, especially as we asked to arrive earlier so that out little one could have a nap!!

We couldn't recommend this property highly enough and loved every second of our holiday!
