The cottages have recently been refurbished with the emphasis on comfort and quality. The cottages comprise twin and double en-suite bedrooms, a well-appointed galley kitchen, utility room and a large relaxing lounge/diner. They are fully centrally heated and there are no additional heating or electricity costs. There is ample private parking, a patio and terraced garden. Located just 200m from the centre of Tintagel and just 20m from the coastal path.

The well-furnished upstairs bedrooms consist of one twin and one double room. The dual aspect large double room has countryside views, beamed ceilings, wood flooring and built in wardrobe. It boasts a king size bed complimented with dresser and bedside tables. The twin room has two single beds a wardrobe, dresser and bedside tables. The room also has a TV and play station console for the children. All bedding, pillows and towels are provided at no extra charge.

The large fully tiled bathroom with beamed ceilings and wood floor comprises a luxury bathroom suite comprising of a large roll top free-standing bath with telephone shower, pedestal washbasin and toilet. The second bathroom comprises a shower cubicle, hand washbasin and toilet.

The kitchen is extremely well equipped and has a very practical layout. There is a Range double oven with ceramic hob, cooker hood, microwave, built in fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and Belfast sink. Ample crockery and cutlery are provided.

Wonderful week in Cornwall

Glen Tor cottage is fabulous, the photos don't really do it justice. We have stayed in quite a few cottages but this is one of the best, everything is of a high standard, and the cottage is very clean, well equipped and spacious. An excellent base for touring the area and walking the coastal path. Also very well situated for easy access to local shops and attractions, but away from the hustle and bustle. Would love to return, just wish it wasn't such a long journey from County Durham!!

Lovely well positioned cottage

The cottage was great, it was very clean and well maintained. Tintagel is well positioned to do everything you need to do while on holiday in Cornwall. Sandie and Nigel were very nice and acomadating and we would definitely recommend the cottage to family and friends.

Absolutely lovely

The cottage is lovely, exactly as it looks in the photos. Very spacious and clean and cosy. Easy walking distance into Tintagel, perfectly positioned. Well equipped, only missing a welcome pack of some tea bags, sugar and milk - would have loved a cup of tea upon arrival! Would absolutely recommend this cottage and we will return!

Location

From the Owner

Polkerr House was built in 1888 and extended in 1991 and has been in my family since it was built. It was run as a Guest house for 40 years by my parents before being partly converted to a high quality fully contained and well-equipped holiday cottage in 2004 by my husband and I. The family enjoys what the area has to offer with walks along the dramatic cliffs, swimming, fishing and surfing on the beaches. BBQs with friends in the summer and dining out in a number of great restaurants.

Nearest Airport : Newquay at 25 Miles Nearest Barpub : Tintagel Arms at 100 Metres Nearest Golf : Bowood at 5 Miles Nearest Train : Bodmin Road at 20 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Tintagel Arms at 100 Metres Nearest Beach : Tintagel Cove at 1 Miles Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

The coast path is only 3 minutes walk and the beaches at Tintagel and Bossiney can be reached on foot within 20 minutes. Trebarwith Strand, 10 minutes by car offers many facilities including surf board and wetsuit hire, and is patrolled by lifeguards in the summer. Crackington Haven, Widmouth Bay, Polzeath and Bude beaches are all within 20 - 30 minutes drive.

Travel:

Newquay airport is the nearest airport approximately 20 miles and is regularly served by low cost carriers such as Ryan Air, Air Southwest and Bmibaby.

Distances:

The coastal path and village is just 2 minutes walk.

The 14th century post office and Halls of Chivalry are 5 minutes walk.

Tintagel Castle is 10 minutes walk.

St Nectans Glen and the Rocky Valley are a 5 minute drive.

The picturesque harbour of Boscastle is 3 miles.

The quaint village of Port Isaac is 9 miles.

The ancient town of Padstow is 20 miles.

Further Details:

There are a number of shops in the village where you can stock up on the essentials. For larger food shopping trips there is a Tesco at Wadebridge and Launceston and a Morrisons at Bodmin. There are a number of places to eat in the village including Indian and traditional restaurants, pubs and cafes and bars. There is also a doctors surgery, chemist, post office and cash point facilities.

We would be more than happy to arrange a round of golf at the Bowood golf club, Fishing trips aboard Pegannia, horse riding, cycle hire or a days trout fishing.
