Polkerr Cottage (2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4)

The well-furnished upstairs bedrooms consists of one twin and one double room. The rooms have en-suite facilities, which include a shower, hand basin and toilet and are also equipped with shaver lights.

The bedrooms are also furnished with flat screen TVs, satellite receivers and hairdryers. All bedding, pillows and towels are provided at no extra charge. A travel cot is also available.

The galley kitchen is extremely well equipped and has a very practical modern layout. There is a modern large oven with ceramic hob, cooker hood, microwave, built in dishwasher, fridge and double inset ceramic sink. Ample crockery and cutlery are provided.

A separate utility room with matching kitchen units accommodates the washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. Free WiFi is available.

Polkerr Cottage

The cottages have recently been refurbished with the emphasis on comfort and quality. The cottages comprise twin and double en-suite bedrooms, a well-appointed galley kitchen, utility room and a large relaxing lounge/diner. They are fully centrally heated and there are no additional heating or electricity costs. There is ample private parking, a patio and terraced garden. Located just 200m from the centre of Tintagel and just 20m from the coastal path.

About Sandie

I was born and raised in this village and love the area. I met my husband here and have raised my sons in the area. We all enjoy the local community spirit and consider ourselves extremely lucky to live in such a wonderful location with the rugged coastline and fantastic sandy beaches.

Why Sandie chose Tintagel

Polkerr House was built in 1888 and extended in 1991 and has been in my family since it was built. It was run as a Guest house for 40 years by my parents before being partly converted to a high quality fully contained and well-equipped holiday cottage in 2004 by my husband and I. The family enjoys what the area has to offer with walks along the dramatic cliffs, swimming, fishing and surfing on the beaches. BBQs with friends in the summer and dining out in a number of great restaurants.

What makes this cottage unique

Our visitor book and feedback forms help us to improve our facilities each year but the things that our guest regularly compliment us on are the location, appearance, facilities and the cleanliness of the cottage and our hospitality.

A terraced lawn adjoins the patio and provides an ideal secure area for your toddlers or a spot for catching some rays. The Glen Tor lawned rear garden area is enclosed and accommodates a washing line and garden furniture; it is the ideal place to have your BBQ. There is also a hardstand parking area for one vehicle. The front garden is lawned with a pathway leading to the front door.

Fantastic location

We have used this cottage for about 5 years as it is in a fantastic position for the village centre and for cliff walks. The cottage is kept well and is always spotless. There are two bedrooms and both have their own bathrooms, which is perfect for families or for two couples. The cottage is comfortable and has everything needed for a holiday but also has enough equipment in the kitchen for those who wish to have some nights eating in the cottage. We will certainly use this again.

Polkerr cottage in Tintagel is conveniently located for the town and castle and coastal walks. The cottage itself was clean and very well equipped. It was a quiet and relaxing holiday, with plenty around the area to see and do in all weather.

Had a lovely stay at Polkerr Cottage. It had everything we needed for the week. Parking is at a premium in Tintagel, so it was excellent to find this cottage with decent parking - even for a Volvo estate! Good property/local notes provided - even details on recycling, which we find is often missing in holiday cottages. Washer and drier are in the garage/outbuilding. Outdoor furniture could do with some tlc/updating, but that was the only slight negative point. All in all, a great spot for touring the area or, indeed, not using the car all week and walking.
