Newly refurbished, detached bungalow in own grounds, set within a small village in a quiet rural location with uninterrupted views of countryside. Traditional pub serving real ales within 100 yards and other award winning pubs and restaurants within a 10 minute drive. Ideal location in lower Tyne Valley; only 15 minutes from Newcastle City Centre and the Metro Centre, 20 minutes from Hexham and 30 minutes from Durham. Now with free Wi-Fi.

We had a great time at the bungalow. Easily accommodates 6 people and there's plenty of space in the kitchen, lounge, bedrooms and bathrooms. We had a little trouble getting taxis from the city centre to come to us when we were too late booking the local ones. Lesson learned - book them well in advance!
We enjoyed our stay at the bungalow in Coalburns. With few pictures and no reviews on the listing , we were concerned about the booking. But we arrived to a spacious, clean and well equipped home. The kitchen has a lovely bay window and there is a charming sun room overlooking the lawn. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, which was perfect for the 5 of us. The bathrooms looked newly renovated with shower/tub combination . The living room has a wood burning stove and firewood was provided. There is a laundry room with a washer, dryer, and freezer. The Fox and Hound Pub is literally at the end of the drive and the pub owners were warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, they don't serve food, but they helped us order from nearby restaurants that delivered to the pub while we enjoyed a drink. We were there to walk on Hadrian's Wall, and Coalburns was convenient to Housesteads, Newcastle Central Train Station, and Newcastle Airport. We did not meet the owner, so it is difficult to comment about customer service.
My daughters and I had a wonderful stay at Keith's cottage. Its location was great for exploring the area around Newcastle. The home is clean, comfortable, and has lots of room. The view is great. We were able to unwind after being busy all day.
The Burges were quick to help with problems with the washer.
We would definitely stay here again.

10% deposit on booking; balance due 4 weeks before date of arrival. Security deposit of £250 required in advance or immediately on arrival. Discounts available to small parties.
Bookings can start or end on any days (subject to availability). Usual arrival time is at 3.00pm and departure is at 11.00am, but there may be flexibility to meet guest needs.
