Villa in Le Plan du Castellet, Var, Provence, France - Set Amongst Vineyards, 10 Minutes to the Beach

The villa is set within large, enclosed and well–maintained grounds which allows a peaceful and relaxing break. It is fully air-conditioned throughout.

It is ideal for families and is well equipped with 2 travel cots and 2 high chairs. The large swimming pool is fitted with underwater lighting and swimming pool alarm system for peace of mind with small children around. There are 2 large terraces, one which looks out onto the tennis court and garden and the other with a stone-built barbecue, to seat up to 15 people. We have also recently added a boule/petanque area. The villa also has wi-fi. Beautiful sandy beaches are situated 10 minutes away by car at St Cyr sur Mer, Bandol and Sanary sur Mer. The well-known beach resort of St Tropez only 100km away. The surrounding area offers an abundance of leisure activities for example horse riding, sailing, wind surfing, water skiing, paragliding and trekking. The nearby golf course at Le Frégate is regarded as one of the top 10 in France.

About Sarah de Lisle

We are a family of 6, with 4 young children aged 0-7. The villa has been in our family for over 20 years and is much loved by us all, from babies to grandparents and friends.

We use the villa as much as possible, but in the weeks we are not lucky enough to be there, we rent the property out for other families to enjoy.

Why Sarah de Lisle chose Le Castellet

Our family is a mixture of both French and English. The French side of our family have always had holiday homes in the Bandol/Le Castellet region, and we have a strong connection to the area.

As a holiday destination it is second to none, providing lovely beaches, port towns, medieval villages and vineyards on the doorstep. There is a huge amount to do whatever your age in the surrounding area. Similarly, the villa has everything you need for a family holiday and it is very tempting to stay put for as long as possible.

The villa is near to the airport for access, and once there, has all you need within a short distance - supermarkets, traditional Provençal markets, lovely beaches, wine tasting, golf courses etc. etc.!

What makes this villa unique

The villa is incredibly family friendly, with a large private swimming pool, tennis court, sand pit, boules are, table tennis, plenty of shaded areas and general space.

It is also only a ten minute drive to the busy port towns of Bandol, Sanary sur Mer and St Cyr, where you will find shops, restaurants and bars galore.

Outside: The villa is set within large, enclosed and well–maintained grounds and as you approach the house you will appreciate peaceful and quiet surroundings. The large private swimming pool (size 15 x 5.7m; depth 1 – 2.2m) is situated at one end of the enclosed garden, totalling some 3000sq.m, with the private tennis court at the other. The large swimming pool, has underwater lighting and is fitted with a fully compliant alarm system for peace of mind. There are 10 sunbeds provided and poolside tables with chairs. There are 2 large terraces, both of which seat up to 15 people, 1 partially covered which looks out onto the tennis court and garden and the other fully covered with a stone-built barbecue, tiled table with fixed timber benches. There is a Boules/Petanque area adjacent to the tennis court which also benefits from a decked sun-bathing terrace and there is also the use of a table tennis table on one of the larger terraces. Utility Room: Washing machine and dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are available at a cost of 15 euros per person for the duration of the stay. Compulsory final cleaning charge is 12 euros per hour for 6 hours. Additional cleaning is available upon request. Other: Both terraces offer a large area for relaxed outdoor eating (one including a stone built barbecue) and can each seat 15 people. Outdoor chairs for approximately 15 people are provided. One of the terraces also houses a fold away table tennis table.

Superb family holiday

I have stayed at Villa Grace Dieu for many a summer holiday with my four children. It is the perfect place to see the Cote d’Zur. The villa has everything you could dream of; a pool close to the house where we can easily oversee the children, a great tennis court, and fantastic outside dining facilities that can comfortably seat everyone staying and guests. There are terraces both at the front of the house and to the rear, always providing sun and shade depending on your mood. The sleeping accommodation is very comfortable and the kitchen is well provisioned. It is an ideal place to relax and comfortably houses 12 people.

The villa’s situation is ideally suited for many of the local attractions. Just 10 minutes in either direction you can find great beaches at either Bandol or St Cyr sur Mer which offer all the usual water sports for the children to enjoy. But the beaches are only a fraction of what the beautiful south coast has to offer with wonderful towns of Bandol, Le Castellet, Sanary, and Cassis. The food markets are amazing and feature prominently in Raymond Blanc’s top places to source French ingredients. The restaurants and nightlife are excellent too with wonderful romantic dining opportunities available just minutes in the car from the villa.

We just love Grace Dieu and all it has to offer. That’s why we return year after year.

Fantastic family holiday

We have stayed at Villa Grace Dieu on three occasions now and each time we have had a fantastic family holiday. The villa is superb, set in large grounds with a great pool and tennis court to keep the kids entertained. The house and grounds are also safe for young children, and sitting on the villa balcony whilst the sun goes down, enjoying a BBQ and local red is perfect! We also loved the traditional Provence feel of the villa and felt very at home. The local area is tremendous with beautiful villages like Le Castellet and larger sea-side towns such as Bandol, Sanary and Cassis which offer lots of quality restaurants, beaches and daytime activities. All in all I couldn’t recommend Villa Grace Dieu enough and we are booking to return in 2015!

The Road 'Route Nationale 8 Marseille - Toulon' is 830km from Paris and 46km from Marseille. The nearest exit on the motorway is signposted 'Le Circuit du Castellet and La Cadiere'.

Distances:

The villa is within walking distance of Le plan du Castellet (just under 1km) which has several local shops including a post office, pharmacy, newsagent, cafe, grocery and bakery. More extensive amenities, including shops, banks, restaurants, markets and supermarkets, can be found at La Cadiere, Le Beausset (3km) and Bandol (6km). The nearby medieval village of Le Castellet (3km) is a must when visiting this area, with its cobbled streets and lovely alfresco restaurants.

Further Details:

Markets - Aix en Provence is approximately one hours drive away (65km), and holds a very popular market on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. Toulon is approximately 20 mins away (16km) and holds a market every morning of the week except on Mondays. Le Beausset (3km) holds a market on Friday and Sunday mornings. Bandol (6km) has a market on Tuesday mornings.

Vineyards - There are numerous vineyards throughout the region.

Villages, towns and shopping - Le Castellet is a medieval village and a recognised tourist destination where you will find numerous shops and bars. Bandol and St Cyr are seaside resorts where again you will find a good many restaurants and bars. Cassis is 30 minutes drive away, and is a picturesque port town.
