PLEASE NOTE: We have a Tourism Licence which allows Gary and I to legally rent out our apartment Costa Arenal, Arenal d'en Castell, Es Mercadel, Menorca. We also cover any Eco Tax payments on behalf of our rental clients.

This ground floor apartment is set in beautiful landscaped gardens with 2 pools in the picturesque area of Arenal d'en Castell, the gardens and pools only being available to guests of Costa Arenal. The accommodation is light and sunny and is furnished and decorated to a high standard and sleeps 5/6. There is a shaded terrace with white oblong metal table and seating just perfect for eating outside, together with a private garden area with additional bench seating and two wooden lounger chairs. On the lower level two wooden sun loungers to help you relax and enjoy the last of the day's sun, from May the sun is on the lower level of the garden until 6.00/7.00pm. There are shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants only 5 minutes walk away together with the lovely gently shelving sandy horse-shoe bay with its clear shallow water, perfect for all. Son Parc golf club is a 10 minute drive. A perfect setting for your perfect holiday.

About Jackie and Gary Watson

We are Gary and Jackie Watson and we live in England with our Shih Tzu puppy Benni. Gary works for a reputable high street store and until May 2010 I worked as a PA but took the decision to leave work to become a full-time carer for my mum who had Alzheimer's. We absolutely love our relaxing holidays in Spain, just keep coming back time and time again. We have part owned an apartment in Arenal d'en Castell but have always aimed to purchase a property of our own and in 2009 our aim was achieved with this apartment.

We have always found Spain a very welcoming and friendly place both as holiday makers and as owners.

Why Jackie and Gary Watson chose Arenal d'en Castell

Apart from the fact that everyone in Arenal d'en Castell has made us feel really welcome there are also the many facilities nearby including the beautiful award winning horse shoe bay.

There are lovely little villages only a walk away or travel by the small road 'choo choo' train.

If you wish to venture further only 20 minutes away by car is the beautiful port of Mahon and then the whole island to see. There really is something for everyone.

The apartment is only 25 minutes away by car/taxi from Mahon airport.

What makes this apartment unique

The property is set in beautiful private landscaped gardens with two pools, sun loungers and sea views. All linen is provided together with Hauck travel cot which includes a bassinette and changing area for baby, baby bath, high chair and child gate. To help you enjoy a travel light holiday we also provide at the beginning of the season parasols, air beds, inflatable rings etc and also toys for the children, bearing in mind that items may be added to or taken away due to wear and tear. We have included in the rental a welcome pack to make your holiday that little bit special. Also to allow you to free up some luggage space we provide, for the length of your stay, 100% cotton beach towels (5' x 3') at a cost of £5 per towel.

Within the apartment there is a visitors book and we would very much appreciate any comments you may have. The Management Team who look after the apartment for us, should you need them, are available at all times during your holiday as our aim is to provide you with a relaxing and enjoyable holiday, a holiday of the standard we would expect ourselves.

Coast/Beach:

The apartment is a few minutes stroll away from the beautiful gently shelving beach of Arenal D'en Castell, with clear shallow water, just perfect for children. There are bar cafes, restaurants, and supermarkets within minutes walk. You can discover the more well known places on the island, Fornells, we visit every time we are in Menorca, small but beautiful, you can shop, have a meal or just sit in a cafe and watch the world go by. Es Castell is another favourite of ours with its lovely waterside restaurants and cafe/bars. Mercadal and Alaior are typical Spanish towns and the streets on a Friday or Saturday evening are filled with people and chatter as the Spanish enjoy their weekend. Perfect.

Travel:

The resort of Arenal d'en Castell is approximately 25 minutes by car from the airport. Car hire is not necessarily essential as there are various shops, bars, restaurants, together with numerous activities for children within Arenal d'en Castell, but Menorca is a beautiful island well worth viewing should you be wanting to hire a car. There is also a very good bus service which runs very near to the apartment to various places on the island if you aren't wanting to drive.

Distances:

The Port of Mahon is approximately 20 minute drive away with its many shops, bars and restaurants.

Further Details:

A small train drives around the resort of Arenal d'en Castell and visits the neighbouring village of Macaret which has a small but lovely beach.

Great apartment close to a sandy beach

We've just got back from a fabulous week here and can highly recommend the apartment. It's really well equipped and in a good position overlooking lovely gardens and pools. The resort was very quiet in October, just how we like it, but the little shop at the end of the road was still open for bread and basics. There is a fab safe beach 5 mins walk away with amazing snorkelling. If you want to find your own quieter beach spots Menorca has plenty of pristine beaches to discover. Lovely apartment, great location, well equipped

Lovely, quiet resort with a great beach and plenty of nice restaurants close by. The apartment was in lovely grounds with 2 great pools. Short walk to the beach and the restaurants. The apartment was very well equipped with lots of nice extras - books, dvds.

Great communication with the owners and would highly recommend staying here if visiting Arenal d'en Castell.

Lovely apartment in beautifully maintained complex

Spotlessly clean apartment which had all the trimmings for a fabulous holiday. A most welcome "Welcome pack" on arrival. Lovely views of the sea from the spacious terrace. 30 seconds from the pool area and a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Supermarket a minute away. What more can you ask for! Lovely stay!

Lovely week in beautiful

Menorca.

We had a great time and the apartment is really handy very near the little shop which stocks all the essentials.

The pool area and gardens are pretty and well kept.

There is a short walk to the amazing beach which off season is lovely and quiet.

The apartment was peaceful and had all the things you need including a hairdryer which was useful.

There is a microwave oven which we used but also enjoyed eating out at the restaurant on the beach-la paella which was very nice and also welcoming of children.

Jackie and Gary were really helpful and helped answer all our questions before booking.

Lovely apartment, highly reccomend!

Lovely, very well equipped apartment on a complex with a large pool and toddler pool! Terrace was a little sun trap, could happily relax on the loungers all day! Also a shaded outdoor terrace which was great area for our little one to play in a paddling pool. Short walk to a beautiful beach!! Highly reccomend, great value, will definitely return.

Lovely apartment - a home from home

This is the fourth time we have stayed in the property and it now feels like a second home. The apartment has everything a family needs and is lovely and spacious. It is always lovely and clean when you arrive and the welcome card and presents are a really nice touch. The owners are very easy to deal with and incredibly friendly. We think this is the best property on the complex as it has additional space in the garden with sun loungers which we used every day. The kitchen is well stocked and there are lots of books and dvds in the front room. We liked the box full of beach equipment which always saves us a bit of money (especially the umbrella and mats). The washing machine is very useful as for the first time this year we only came with hand luggage and simply did a wash as and when we needed it (this saved us money on not needing to pay for a suitcase). There are 3 fans in the property which allowed us to keep cool in the evenings which made sleep much easier as it can stay very warm at night.

The apartment is near a couple of shops which sell everything you could possibly need. It is 5 minutes walk from the gorgeous beach and close to all the bars and restaurants. Our favourite is the restaurant on the beach called La Paella, the food is amazing and the staff (especially Jose) are so friendly.

Jackie and Gary always keep in touch from the minute you book. They even sent pictures earlier on in the year of improvements they had made to the apartment which got us very excited!

We have never had a bad stay in Arenal and the apartment which is why we keep coming back, why change when you have found such a lovely place? With only hand luggage this year we were in the pool 54 minutes after landing as we were staright out of the airport into a taxi (35 euros).

It is just a pity (but not a surprise) that the apartment is already booked for the whole of next August so where are we going to go?

Refundable Damage Deposi £125

Booking Notes:

We take payment by cheque and bank transfer to ensure no additional charges are made to either party, if you have an alternative method of payment you prefer please let us know at the time of your enquiry. We also take payment via Owners Direct online payments however this will incur a service fee implemented by and paid directly to Owners Direct.

A deposit of 25% is required to secure a booking, as soon as deposit received I will email confirmation letter together with sending a copy via Royal Mail together with rental agreement. The balance of the rental is due 10 weeks prior to arrival and as soon as received I will email confirmation of this payment together with any additional information.

Prices are for the property in UK pounds, should you wish a price in euros please email, there are no hidden extras. Long lets are accepted at a negotiated rate. Cancellations do happen so always re-check with us if your required dates were not available when you first checked.

Refundable damage deposit £125
This is held in a non interest bank account in the UK and separate from our own personal banking. The damage deposit is refunded within 14 days of departure date by cheque to the address given at the time of booking. As a result of your stay should we need to replace/repair any items photographic proof together with receipt for replacement/repair and the remainder of damage deposit, will be forwrded within 21 days by cheque to the address given at the time of booking.

Changeover Day:
We do not have a specific changeover day as we try to be flexible to allow you to take advantage of cheaper flights, we also take any number of days booking with a minimum of 7 days. Should you be looking for a stay of less than 7 days please email and I will email back with a price. We would require the apartment to be vacated by 10am on the day of your departure and occupancy not before 2pm to allow for cleaning etc, however we will try to be flexible.
