About Salvo

I have been living in the UK since 1996 and almost every year we spend our summer holidays in Cefalu. We rent the house in order to cover the mortgage expenses. Longer rents are preferred to short term rent and discount will be applied. This house is perfect for families who want to spent weeks discovering the charm of the sea around Cefalu.

Salvo purchased this villa in 1995

Why Salvo chose Cefalu

I fell in love straight away with the coast and the water in front of the house. It is called "settefrati". The stacks sticking up out of the water are part of a legend about a beatiful women who was abducted here. The seven stacks are said to be her seven brothers, who tried to rescue her and were turned into stone.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We are now back home in England after the most lovely holiday in your Villa.

The villa is very comfortable and was perfectly prepared for us- in the end Oscar slept in the cot in the laundry room so we all had a bedroom.. Florence loved her little bedroom and had a tantrum on arrival as she so wanted to sleep in the high top bunk ! the villa is beautifully airy situated and it was delightful to sit in the lovely garden so close to the sea, The holiday was a very happy mix of peace at the villa and walks down to the delightful local beaches to swim and snorkel and explore the rock pools , and then to venture forth into Cefalu and beyond.

We all enjoyed trips up to the Rocca and Caccamo Castle, plus we went for 3 longer walks into the Madonie mountains. On the last Sunday Charles and I visited Agrigento and then drove through Porto Empedocle to sea the sun set over the Baia dei Turchi. We are great fans of Inspector Montalbano and could use the internet and watch dvds in the evening as Felix rented a small device from the airport.

We enjoyed meals, pizzas and aperitifs etc in Cefalu but our favourite place as a family was the Santa Maria cafeteria with its wonderful selection of arancini, ice creams, pastries etc and which was always fun and busy. On the last Sunday evening Charles and I went to a free classical concert in the beautiful Duomo which was memorable as it was packed with local people of all ages going in and out.

It worked very well for us having our peaceful time at the beginning and the end without the family- so thank you for allowing us to extend our visit, although the weather was much cooler by the end - down to 12 degrees but still sunny and breezy. We had 2 days of rain and storms, which meant we had exciting power cuts... but then everything cleared up and was nice and green.

Salvo and Mimma welcomed us as we arrived and I spoke to them by phone when we left to say we had left the keys as they had instructed. We had made sure everything was tidy, stripped the beds and left the house spic and span. We bought you some more teaspoons as there were only 2 on arrival and Charles mended the sill of the window by the front door as it had broken off.

We would love to visit again and hope to meet you if you are able join us for our casual triathlon in 2017

A touch of Sicily

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this lovely villa at the end of August 2016 for a week. 3 adults and two children, plenty of space, the pictures does not capture the true beauty of the area. The location of the villa is easily accessible and not to far from the hustle and bustle of main Cefalu. The villa was comfortable and well equipped, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the private beach to the public beach (which was never over crowded). We enjoyed lazing around the garden and taking in the flora the villa made for a great base to see the sights of Cefalu. We were supplied with maps which proved in valuable when we drove to Palermo to take in the sights and museums as well as the drive to Mount Etna. The villa is a home away from home, and complimented the beauty of Sicily. Sea views were amazing and we felt very safe walking around the complex people were very friendly and warm. The two pool areas were clean and well equipped. All in all a great holiday was had by all.

The house was wonderful , very well appointed and comfortable. There was everything you could want and it was of good quality. The pool was great and the nearby beaches were amazing. Our family loved it and we were sorry to leave!

Excellent spacious accommodation.

Villa has very well equipped kitchen and cooking facilities

Easy access to the private beach

We had a fantastic two weeks holiday here and arrived whilst the ice cream festival was on which was a particular highlight!

Cefalu is a lovely town with many superb restaurants all worthy of recommendations good quality food and great service.

The owner provided us with very helpful information for our visit to this beautiful Island.

We will certainly return one day soon! We also recommend this villa and the area for a lovely relaxing holiday.

Car rental is definitely required.
