About the Owner

We bought the chalet in winter 2008 and immediately fell in love with the views, village and position. Since buying it we have completely remodelled the interior and have enjoyed many lovely weeks in the summer and winter with family and friends. We enjoy skiing, walking, climbing, paragliding, tennis and, curiously, old classic sports cars. We love the chalet as our second home and we hope you will enjoy it too! Chris and Melanie

Wonderful stay in a very well equipped chalet

  • 5 of 5

We had yet another fantastic year in this Chalet at St-Gervais. The accommodation is very comfortable and has numerous luxury elements that set it apart from other chalets in the area. The pool was beautifully warm and very welcoming, especially after 6 or 7 hours hiking in the mountains. The sound system, cinema room, and sauna provide that extra level of luxury and mean that regardless of the weather, there is always something relaxing to make it a special holiday. The location is ideal and walking into town for a meal, the market or the odd drink is a five minute stroll.

The attention to detail in the chalet and the stunning location make this a very special place

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week summer break in St Gervais. The chalet is a wonderful base, set up to make everything easy for a family holiday. The children loved the pool and the "cinema room" and we all enjoyed the 5 minute walk down to the village for pizza and ice cream, a glass of wine or an early morning croissant!

The location is very convenient. It is easy to explore the many outdoor activities close by; from climbing trials in the trees to shopping in Chamonix as well as beautiful walks in the mountains.

The chalet is laid out in such a way that there is plenty of room for everyone to have their own space as well as having larger communal areas for everyone to get together. It is equipped with everything you would need - including a Sonos system, allowing you to stay in touch with your favourite British radio programmes or choose from seemingly endless play list of music.

The owners seem to have thought of everything to make this an enjoyable home from home holiday.

An excellent de-luxe chalet

  • 5 of 5

We loved St Gervais Les Bains and the surrounding villages and mountains. The chalet was brilliant and relaxing. It was very clean and we loved the bedrooms on each floor and all the furnishings and bed linen. The cinema room was a lovely bonus and there was a large range of dvd's and an even bigger range of books to read. We came in the Summer time and really enjoyed getting the cable cars to Mont d'Arbois and the views from there over to Mont Blanc.

Excellent family accommodation in a charming location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed with 4 children aged 5-8 and had a fantastic week, spending days by the pool or taking trips out to Mont Blanc by tram, taking the gondola up the mountain and visiting a spectacular outdoor leisure park and swimming in the lake.

The chalet is well maintained and very clean and everything you need is provided. We really appreciated the wine and cake on arrival!

The location is excellent, only 5 mins walk from the charming town of Saint Gervais, with a range of restaurants, shops and the weekly market. We loved walking to the bakers each day for fresh bread and pastries.

Highly recommended for families or groups of friends.

Beautiful chalet in town centre with pool

  • 4 of 5

Quirky chalet spread over 4 floors conveniently close to the town centre with plenty of parking. This chalet is remarkably spacious whilst retaining a cosy feel with plenty of indoor and outdoor sitting areas to take in the Alpine views. However the real luxury in Summer is the large outdoor pool which was very well used by everyone. This chalet had everything we could wish for to make it a wonderful mountain holiday

A fantastic summer alternative to the beach

  • 5 of 5

My family and I normally go on beach vacations, but thought we'd try the Alps to support our son's cycling endeavours. We had a wonderful time. The chalet was lovely---attractive, spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. The heated pool was a real bonus. Great location, surrounded by snow capped mountains, and a two minute walk from town with shops and restaurants, or the Mont Blanc tramway in the other direction. Half an hour from Chamonix. Lots to do locally and afield---walks, cycling, climbing... Melanie, the owner, was there to greet us and was available to answer any questions we had. She was also very accommodating, allowing us to stay an extra night. We only stayed 8 days, butcould have easily spent another week or two. We look forward to returning next year.

Located in the French northern Alps and situated at the feet of Mont Blanc, St Gervais has stunning scenery and a wide variety of things to do.

Saint Gervais is a beautiful Savoyard village with a friendly atmosphere. It is home to Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc and has been a popular holiday destination for over a hundred years. There are a number of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants and every Thursday morning there is a market and the village's main square is a hive of activity.

The towns of Megeve and Chamonix are just a 20 minute drive away should you wish to explore a little further.

St Gervais has a huge number of activities on offer. It is popular with walkers and cyclists in the summer - it is one of the starting points for the Tour du Mont Blanc. In winter Saint Gervais has a large ski area (over 440 km) which links to nearby Megeve. The Mont Blanc Tramway can be taken from Saint Gervais to the Bellevue plateau (1800m) or the Prarion giving skiers access to the Les Houches ski area in winter. Or it can be taken by walkers or those just wishing to see the wonderful panorama in winter or summer. Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The chalet has underfloor heating which is very effective. Because the chalet is laid out over four floors and has balconies and a swimming pool it is best suited to adults and older children. Our young nephews and nieces have had a super time here summer and winter but the under 5's obviously required more supervision from adults. Outside: The outside living space is fantastic. A patio with decking surrounds the pool which is very private and has fabulous views of the Aravis chain of mountains on the other side of the valley. Barbeque'ing is very special and at night the patio is lit with outdoor lighting. The pool is about 30 feet long and is heated in summer to in excess of 26 degrees Celsius. There are outdoor tables, chairs and sun loungers. There is parking for three cars to the side of the drive. Utility Room: In the garage, includes sink washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge and freezer. Space for clothes drying and hanging. Ski and boot storage in ample garage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Fully laundered cotton bedlinen and towels are included in the price. Reasonable chalet cleaning at the end of your stay is also included. Any other arrangements can be discussed on an individual basis. Other: Second living room in basement lends itself to evening and night-time use and has a high quality audio visual system. Contemporary and 'moody' it is a great place to unwind after the day. Sofas, chairs and wine fridge. Sauna comfortable for 6.
