Two comfortable and very well equipped apartments situated on the eastern side of Montana are close to the centre of Crans Montana. They are in a sunny position with stunning views over the Alps and the Rhone Valley. The resort offers many summer and winter activities. A two minute drive takes one to the town centre and cable car stations. There is a bus stop in front of the chalet and buses to and from the town and cable car stations are free. The apartments have WiFi internet. The apartments 10 and 11 are on the third floor with lift access. The locker room for skies and golf clubs is on the ground floor. Approach to the chalet is possible all the year round and there are ample car parking spaces. A large grass area is ideal for children to sledge or play. Kitchen -Open plan to the sitting & dining room with breakfast bar. Oven, four hot plates, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, food processor, toaster, coffee machine. Vacuum cleaner, steam iron and ironing board. Fully equipped for 6 people.

Sitting/dining room - Large area with spacious balcony, fireplace, cable TV, DVD, WiFi Internet, sofa bed, arm chairs. Dining table (extendable). Swiss cupboard with table items & glasses.

About the Owner

Studio Apartment, No 10 Lisière-Sud purchased ten years ago has been extensively refurbished. The next door apartment No 11 with two bedrooms has been in the family for a long time. The owners, David (British) and Franziska Scotson (Swiss), have lived in many parts of the world with the Armed Forces and currently they live in SE England. Their daughters learnt to ski in Crans-Montana and now their grandsons are becoming accomplished skiers.

They have always considered Lisière Sud to be their second home rather than a place to let. The condition and furnishings of the two apartments which are frequently updated, reflect this. Any guests staying in either of these two apartments will feel completely at home.

A lovely, well equipped, homely apartment

this is a lovely 3rd floor apartment (fortunately with a working lift!) that has two good double bedrooms (one en suite, one with facilities just across the corridor) and no doubt sleeps many more on the usual sofas, additional beds etc, that we didn t need to test out as we were only a foursome. the apartment is well equipped - cooker works well - enough pots, pans, oven dishes, cutlery, plates etc to cook and serve properly - tv with major english channels - good working wifi and spectacular views form the balcony. the apartment area, like crans montana itself - is very quiet in summer - we went when the golf tournament was on - which because of the smallish number of spectators provides wonderful viewing in a wonderful setting. crans - like many places in switzerland - provides good and well mapped and signposted walking. the one downside of switzerland is the cost of living there. bot supermarkets and restaurants have prices that are very high by comparison with the uk. but that doesn t detract from what was a very pleasant holiday, in a very pleasant apartment.

Excellent stay

Our family (2 adults with 3 girls) has stayed in this wonderful apartment in Crans-Montana for two ski holidays. The apartment is warm, cosy and family oriented, providing you all that is required to relax and enjoy your holiday. The property is also very clean and has all the information you may need to get around the area (if not familiar with it yet). The bedrooms are a good size with very comfortable beds. The kitchen is also well equipped so no need to always go out to eat after a long day of ski.The big window in the living room offers the visitors fantastic views of the Alpes!

The apartment is conveniently located near the best telecabine in Crans-Montana (Violettes); it will take one or two minutes to drive and park your car there or alternatively there is a bus stop in front of the apartment building (free bus service) connecting you to all the telecabines in CM. We have had no problems getting a parking space in front of the building despite busy holiday weeks :).

Overall, we have had two lovely stays in Lisiere-Sud A.Thanks to Franziska for answering my emails and questions very promptly and for making the booking process very easy indeed. We are happily returning to this apartment next year, again !!!!

Spacious and well-located in Montana

Lisiere Sud is a wonderful place to stay. It's a third floor apartment located walking distance from the Barzette ski lift, which gets you right into the heart of the Crans Montana ski runs. If you're not feeling up to the walk, there's another option - walk 5-10 minutes to Etoile bus stop and catch the regular bus service to any of the main ski lifts in the area. So if you're skiing and without a car as we were, it's no hassle at all. And because you're not bang in the centre or next to the ski lifts, you get a feeling of peace and calm here - so I'd say it's great for families or even younger guests who value space. As far as other facilities go, you're 15 minutes walk to a big co-op supermarket, where you'll find everything you'll need to eat or drink, plus basic homeware stuff. Eateries and bars are a touch further in the centre of Montana, all within a 10 minute bus ride or a 25 minute walk. Crans, which is a bigger town than Montana, is a further 10-15 minutes walk from Montana centre. The apartment itself was perfect for us - clean, comfortable, with two big double bedrooms (each with two twin beds), one of which has en suite bathroom, a great living room area that's large, well lit by a huge mountain-facing window with gorgeous views of the sunrise, and well connected to the kitchen which means you can make a social occasion of cooking in. The separate bathroom is more than adequate for the second bedroom. There's a balcony too, which would be great for a summer stay. There's wifi, tv, DVD, a dock for music, loads of kitchen equipment, iron, hairdryer etc etc. I don't think we wanted for anything while we were here. Franziska, our host, wasn't here while we were, but she is exceptionally attentive if you need anything. A quick call or email and she'll help you with whatever you need. This made our stay even more comfortable. She also let us leave our bags in the apartment well past check-out time so we could spend another day in the area before our flight. I'd recommend Lisiere Sud 11 to anyone looking for good skiing, lots of space, peace and quiet, comfort and a taste of the Crans Montana life.

a lovely large & homely apartment

crans montana is an up market skiing and walking etc collection of towns/villages strung along a hillside above sierre. easily accessible by motorway to sierre and a not too bad climb up from there. this apartment fits in with that image. a short (free) bus ride or car ride from the shops; it is situated in a quiet residential area. well equipped; nice sunny baclonies; large lounge; good kitchen; enough loos and bathrooms - perfect for 4/5 people (we had a 4 adult; 2 couple party and it was more than large enough for us). the aprtment had a lovely family feel to it - we really felt at home. highly recommended.

Location

We bought our apartment in Crans Montana because the resort is located in the heart of the Alps and is less than a 2 hour drive from Geneva. It also has easy access by train & funicular or by bus. We love our south facing resort which is on a plateau studded with small lakes and at the foot of a challenging skiing area with more than 140 km of pistes. The view across the Rhone valley which stretches from the Simplon to Mont-Blanc is stunning. The town offers us everything we need while still being close to nearby natural surroundings, the mountains, fields of snow, natural terraces with plenty of vines or along man made waterways which have irrigated the land for centuries. When the sun shines anywhere in Switzerland it shines in Crans Montana!

Travel:

Visitors flying from UK normally arrive at Geneva International Airport which is less than 2.30 hours by car. Easyjet run frequent flights from Gatwick. The train from the airport to Sierre takes 2.20 hours and there is a regular bus service from the station which takes 20 minutes and it stops outside the chalet. The funicular from Sierre to Montana takes 15 minutes. Since there are free bus services to the town and cable cars it is not essential to bring or hire a car although a car is useful.

Distances:

The Montana tourist office, post office and shops are 1.5 kms. The centre of Crans and two further the cable car stations are less than 2.5 kms.

Further Details:

There are enough international and local restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. The many shops range from designer boutiques to supermarkets. There are various banks with cash machines, a casino, a bowling alley and a cinema showing recent releases which are often in English. During the seasons there are many facilities offered for those who do not wish to ski or golf. In the winter there is ice skating, a snow park, sledging and guided mountain walks. Once the snows melt families or athletes can enjoy walking along hundreds of kilometres of marked trails along the contour lines or up into the mountains. There is also, paragliding, hot-air ballooning and a variety of tracks or open areas for mountain or quad bikes which can be hired. The town has three small lakes.

Changeover Day is usually Saturday. The apartment will be ready for occupation at 4pm. On the day of departure it must be vacated by 11am.

Prices are given in Euros. If clients wish to pay in Sterling or Swiss France the price will be given on request. Currency conversions will be close to interbank rates. Guests are responsible for any bank transfer charges.
