6th floor 56sq.m duplex apartment in the village square, leading to shops, restaurants, bars, cinema, indoor heated pool and amusement luge. At the back the locker room opens onto the main arterial piste leading to lifts which access the adjoining valleys of Meribel and Courchevel as well as the adjacent slopes of La Masse. From the square, lifts lead to Val Thorens and the Fourth Valley. Further down the valley is the charming town of St. Martin de Belleville. Free open-air car parking is available at all times. Views from the balcony of Cime de Caron and La Masse are fantastic. Ski passes can be bought for the locality, the valley or the 3 Valleys. Queues are rare due to continuing investment in modern ski lifts. Ski school is on the other side of the square, with facilities for beginners and children, and facilities for cross-country skiing are excellent, whether on the adjacent gentle slopes of Plan de l'Eau or on the demanding journey (17km) to St. Martin and back.

The apartment has been tastefully refurbished and comfortably accommodates 8 with two bathrooms and open plan downstairs living. The kitchen is fully equipped with a hob, oven, microwave, separate fridge and freezer, dishwasher. Laundry facilities are available on the square and linen can be arranged for you as well as a cleaner.

About Richard

Retired solicitor aged 71, passionate about skiing and sailing. Bought the apartment off-plan in 1987, with the advantage of being able to design the interior layout to suit a family with 3 children. Paramount was the need for 2 bathrooms, to cater for mob invasion after a hectic skiing day, plus an oversized h/w cylinder to service them!

The family attraction remains, with the apartment still being the focus at Xmas. Recent arrival of grandchildren has resulted in the installation of a second double bedroom.

Why Richard chose Les Bruyères

Satisfied all my requirements - plenty of room for the family, right on the ski slopes in the best skiing area in the world. All facilities were within easy walking distance. Great views from the balcony - important for me because I ski cross-country and finish before lunchtime.

Travel:

Flights to Geneva, Lyon, Chambery or Grenoble are within 2.5 hours drive. Calais is approx 10 hours drive. TGV stops at valley town of Moutiers - buses and taxis are available. Use of a car is by no means essential, as all requirements can be met within easy walking distance. Free shuttle bus from Les Menuires.

Further Details:

Ski hire,ATM,cinema,launderette, tourist office and all shopping facilities are all within 150 metres. A new leisure centre has been constructed within 200 metres, with amazing swimming facilities for adults and children,jacuzzi etc. There is also a new fairground-style ride-on-luge, appealing to children (and also to Peter Pan grown-ups!).

Booking Notes:
Payment of £500 is required to make a reservation, the balance being due one month before commencement together with a 'caution' of £500 (not used except in case of damage).

Cleaner can be arranged if you prefer at your cost (c.70E but we will reconfirm at time of booking the current rate). Linen and towel hire at your cost (again we can provide a quote depending on your needs).

Changeover Day:
Arrival Saturday 1400h, departure Saturday 1100h. There may be some flexibility if bookings are not continuous.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
