About the property

Corner apartment with astonishing panoramic views. Perfect cycling/walking/mountain bike

This is my friends' much loved 2nd home and has more a homely, cosy feel. Prices include free internet and English freesat. The apartment is on the fifth floor of a recent building with exceptional views overlooking the Venosc Valley and Parc d’Oisans. Sunrise and sunset can be enjoyed from the wrap-around balcony.

It's ideal in summer for cyclists and miountain bikers as the balcony is big enough for storing and working on bikes. Also for hiking, as you can walk straight out from the 3rd floor onto mountain trails.

The bedroom, bathroom and living room all have windows. The bathroom has a 3/4 length bath with shower over and full size wash basin. There is a separate toilet.

The entrance hall is spacious, with a large made to measure cupboard, Coat hooks, and boot storage; and is ideal for storing your outer clothes and boots

The double aspect living room with TV / DVD offering French and freesat english TV has a corner kitchen area, dishwasher & electric hob, combination microwave & oven and a fridge. There is L shaped seating, the sofa converts to a double bed or two singles.We prefer bookings for 3 people, although 4 is possible.

You can ski and walk to and from the back of the building, either from the 6th floor, or from the ski room on the 3rd floor.

About Charlotte Swift

I am a good friend of the owners Jan & David, and am now looking after their 2nd home for them as I live in the area.

They have retired to France where they are renovating a large house, and changing the vineyard and farm over to organic. They have already won a prize locally for their white wine, and can supply bottles of it or their red wine at a reasonable price if required.

We all met through skiing in Les Deux Alpes, where I have been teaching skiing for 25 years.

"We immediately knew this apartment was the one, the moment we saw it. With stunning views in a quiet area, it is very well designed for the space, with a separate bathroom, and toilet."

The balcony faces East and South and thus we have the sun all day long. This is certainly one of the best views in Deux Alpes. Even on a blustery day, its fun looking at the clouds swirl up from the valley below.

What makes this apartment unique

This apartment offers amazing views and comfort. At 28 sq.m it's not huge, but has a separate bedroom, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen.

All rooms except the WC have windows and views, which is unusual in a ski apartment.

With snow on the Pied Moutet side and the snow cannons on the Super Venosc piste, for most of the season this apartment is genuinely ski in/ski out (providing you have a level of skiing blue/red pistes)

Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: cleaning is not included and there is no option to pay for it. Guests must leave the apartment as clean as they found it (which we hope will be very clean). Bedlinen can be rented at 10€ per person and towels at 5€ per person. Notification in advance is required for this. A damage/cleaning deposit of 350€ IN CASH will be taken on arrival. This will be fully refunded on the leaving inspection providing the guests clean and leave the apartment as clean as they found it.

Bel appartement situé coté vallée blanche. Bien équipé et fonctionnel. Départ skis aux pieds ou possibilité de descendre avec la navette jusqu'au télésiège du diable. Appartement très propre avec parking.

Mont de Lans (chair lift or free bus down) market on Wednesday mornings

Venosc (visible from the flat), an authentic alpine village accessible by foot in the summer, or via the telecabine (included in your lift pass) in the winter and summer, a worthwhile visit. Fabulous artisan shops.

Bourg d'Oisans, a 30 minutes drive has an excellent market on Saturdays.

Alpe d'Huez is 32km. Serre Chevalier 67km. Valloire 62km. Montgenevre and the Italian Alps 74km.

Further Details:

Food and restaurants. Bread and croissants can be ordered from the reception of the Flocon D'Or (the next building) for picking up the next morning. Local pizzerias deliver to the apartment. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance serving local and international cuisine, crepes, snacks and coffees. We suggest you try the Raison d'Ours (need to book) Il Caminetto, or Creperie Les Sagnes. At the top end of the market there is Chalet Mounier, which has a Michelin starred restaurant. There is a wide range of restaurants to suit all tastes throughout the ski area, both at glacier, mid station and at resort level.

Winter activities - Descent to La Grave, take a helicopter to Alpes d'Huez, weekly free avalanche safety training.

Summer activities - mountain biking, paragliding, white water rafting, skating, swimming, ice gliding, tennis, rock climbing, golf, trampolining, bungee jumping, adventure park, luge, horse riding and more events arranged weekly by the resort.
