Villa With Private Pool And Panoramic Views

Overview

Property

Updated: 12-Nov-2016
Villa in Praia Da Luz, Western Algarve, Portugal - Fantastic Peaceful Location

2-bedroom villa situated at the highest part of Praia da Luz. A car is recommended, as although the beach is only a 15-minute walk, it's a steep walk home! If you prefer it's a 4-5 euros taxi ride, your choice! Casa LaLa has a private pool and is located in a peaceful, residential area. There is a small balcony adjacent to the kitchen offering views across the countryside and a balcony off the lounge with sea and rooftop views. A table and chairs are provided. The built-in BBQ by the pool means cooking is enjoyable. A table, chairs and sunbeds are situated around the pool with a sun-shade and outside shower for your comfort. There are 2 fans available for when the weather is really warm, which is most of the time. Shutters on the windows and doors enable fresh air and give extra security. The high wall surrounding the garden provides privacy and security. There is a strong 'child-proof' lockable gate at the rear of the outside area.

About the Owner

Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at our property. I'm Ketts own property in France and Portugal. I have two children aged 17 and 14 and chose the properties to suit our own wishes and requirements.

In Portugal Luz offers everything a family needs for a great holiday and of course a dedicated swimming pool. Golf courses close by.

In France we struck lucky finding Thollon Les Memises as it is an authentic French village in the alps. Excellent for both Winter and Summer holidays. Evian water originates in Thollon, it has its own ski-resort with access to some of the finest ski-resorts in France and Switzerland in an hour’s drive.

We have tried to make the properties a home from home but with a local feel. We enhance them each year in order to retain high standards.

Guestbook comments from the owner

There is a guest book in the Villa full of complementary comments and we have many repeat visitors. "We had a good relaxing holiday and loved the location of the villa."

"We had hired a car but still walked quite a bit too. We loved the stunning views from the villa and the pool."

"We loved the location and resort and had a great night at the Fortaleza where special guests (Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinartra and Dean Martin) entertained us while we enjoyed the a la carte menu. We'll be back!."

The majority of our guests have said that they would return to Praia da Luz and to Casa LaLa, (some have done just that) and found it to be comfortable and modernly equipped with a touch of authenticity.

Great base to explore the Algarve

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed our 10 day stay at Casa Lala.

Located on a hill within walking distance of restaurants, bars and the beach.

Highly recommend car hire as it was a great base to visit other towns. We managed to travel to Portimao, Albufeira, Alvor, Lagos and Sagres.

Pool was perfect and well needed with temperatures reaching 37 and then some.

Shaded area was a great touch to take a break from the sunshine.

Well equipped Villa with everything we needed, would highly recommend staying @ Casa Lala

PS The Wi-Fi was up and running for the whole of our stay

Very Comfortable/Great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at Villa LaLa just a few weeks ago.

The location suited us well - out of the village, but within walking distance for dinners, etc.

The pool was lovely and poolside area brilliant! Very private and able to sit in sun all day or take cover in the shade if that is your preference. The use of owners pool inflatables made for a very fun pool-time!

We also like the fact that there were several dining tables to choose to eat at, on nights when we stayed in and bar-be-qued.

Casa La la

  • 4 of 5

Lovely villa set in a quiet location uphill from the main village.

The property was extremely clean, tidy and well maintained. The poolside area is a good size, has useful sun-shades, tables, chairs, inflatable gear for kids and a nice brick built BBQ.

The furniture and beds were extremely comfortable, clean and in good condition.

The village itself has a selection of restaurants and bars, all of which were of a good standard, although with Lagos being close the selection is wider.

If visiting with kids, or more elderly folk, it may be an idea to hire a car, or use the local taxis which are both cheap & reliable, as the walk to and from the centre can be tiring, especially in the heat, although my mother (80yo) made the trip twice daily.

The two local supermarkets provided for all our needs, and one of them will deliver.

All in all, we spent a thoroughly enjoyable time at Casa Lala, and hope to return later this year.

A small taste of paradise

  • 5 of 5

The villa exceeded our expectations, on arrival the villa was very clean and has been well maintained. Coupled with the glorious weather and nearby beaches you could not have been in a better location. It was quiet, yet enough to do in the nearby town which we drove to in the hire car. The landlord was at hand (via email) to deal with any issues and were resolved in less than 24 hours.

I would and have already recommended this villa and location to many of our friends.

There were many restaurants in the local town to chose from and all were very reasonably priced, in fact, we ate out every night for the week we were there.

Relaxing and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

On arrival the villa was easy to find, and getting in was no trouble at all. There was lots of useful information in the villa well organised to let us know what was available, what was good and how to get to there (with maps). The advice in the information folder was accurate, and the recommendations on restaurants came in handy.

The villa is spacious, and the outside space benefited from sun all day long. The BBQ was the hottest we have cooked in, and the pool was in constant use by us with the inflatables on offer.

You have a sea view from the living room, the area is perfect for a quiet, relaxing holiday and this villa was brilliant.

Location

From the Owner

Casa LaLa ticked all the right boxes for us. It is located in a quiet residential area - ideal for relaxing, but is near enough to the beach and restaurants to get the real holiday feel of the resort. Short journeys can put you in the heart of rural communities, hills or national parkland. The sandy beach in Luz is safe – ideal for families – and being surrounded by golf courses is a real bonus. Praia da Luz is an ideal family resort which we have fallen in love with.

Special interest holidays:

Enjoyment. The garden area is designed for pool style relaxation.

Coast/Beach:

Casa LaLa is a 15-minute walk down to the main Luz beach (only 1-2 minutes by car). However, the walk home can take 25 minutes as it is uphill. Luz Bay boasts an unspoiled, beautiful sandy beach with plenty of loungers to hire. There is safe swimming, rock pooling and water sports for all the family. The promenade is lined with cafes and seats, ideal for taking in the views in the shade. There are plenty of quiet beaches all along the coast. The western coast offers rugged beaches for surfing.

Travel:

Faro is the nearest airport and is approximately a 50-60min drive. The A22 motorway makes the drive very easy. Car hire is recommended but we can arrange for a taxi collection if preferred. Lisbon is approximately a 2.5 hr drive away. The older route, N125 is a pleasant drive and passes close to Luz and is toll free!

Distances:

Historic Lagos is the nearest large town, 10 mins by car or bus. It is a bustling town with cobbled streets, restaurants, bars and shops to suit everyone. There is a lovely marina and beach too. A bus can be easily taken from Luz and taxis are available. Out to the west are Burgau, Sagres, Caldas and Silves - all with their own history.

Further Details:

Everything you need for an enjoyable holiday can be found in Luz. There are banks, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, cafes, English speaking doctors, chemist, and watersports. The promenade along the bay is a great place for an evening stroll - stopping for a drink and to watch the sun set. Other activities such as riding, cycle hire, dolphin watching, sea fishing, sailing and water skiing are also on offer locally. Zoo Marine is a popular day out for all ages. Aqua Splash is another popular day out for all the family. Luz is a well presented, old fishing village which has not been over spoiled by commercialism. It is an ideal location for a true family holiday with its lovely clean beach and facilities. The Fortaleza da Luz does a great cabaret evening on a Thursday and Sunday Jazz BBQ. Fantastic views from their outside tables, very comfortable inside too.

Facilities

From the Owner

The overriding benefit of Casa LaLa is its lovely private pool. The surrounding patio area has been fully tiled and is nonslip. With the built in BBQ you need go no further. We have purposely raised the surrounding walls to provide privacy and security. Small children will not be able to negotiate the gate and 'escape'. The panorama is 360 degrees, with views of the sea, village rooftops and mountains in one direction; and countryside and the beautiful sunset in the other. We renew equipment often and as necessary in order to retain high standards while retaining some authentic Portuguese feel.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Two fans are provided. Two travel cots are available. High chair can be hired. We provide high quality 'plastic glassware' for use around the pool. This prevents the possibility of glass spoiling someone's holiday. Outside: Our outside area is superb. There is enough room for plenty of people. The charcoal BBQ is new and works very well. There is a strong 6 seated table and bench around the pool as well as on the balcony outside the lounge. There are sun loungers for relaxing. The pool man comes weekly to ensure the pool is kept clean and healthy. There is an outside shower and a 'sail sun-shade' provides shade all day. The sun shines from morning to evening. The pool is private and has steps at both the shallow and deep ends. It is ample size for lots of fun or just a swim. We leave our own inflatables for you use but cannot guarantee them as obviously with use they do burst. The front of the house grounds are not suitable for guests and should only be used as an entrance and for shaded parking for the car. Utility Room: There is a store box next to the pool for storing inflatables etc. There is also a handy freezer located in the hallway. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Midweek towel change and bathroom clean. Linen changed weekly (negotiable on request). Beach/pool towels not provided. Other: Around the pool are sun beds, a table-bench, a built-in BBQ and tools. There is also a 'sail sun-shade' that provides plentiful shade.
