3 bedroom private House, located in a quiet residential countryside village of Dogankoy, which nestles just below the Besparmak Mountains and views to the Mediterranean sea. This spacious house, which has a gated entrance and secure parking, is close to the village bus stop and coffee shop, very convenient for buying the essentials eg bread, milk, water etc, of a morning. Very well positioned - 5 minutes walk to excellent supermarkets, very good eating houses, including American, Chinese and Indian take aways, Bakery, DVD shops and local hotels with entertainment. Just far enough away from a new highly acclaimed underground night clubs for the young at heart. 20 minutes walk to the centre of Kyrenia- Castle and harbour. 25 minute drive from the new competition standard golf course, golf tuition, driving range, dining and therapeutic message facilities.

About the Owner

Hi, my wife and I own the House in Dogankoy. We fell in love with the Northern Cyprus in 2004 and took the plunge and bought the house in 2005. We had the choice of a number of sites and locations at the time but wanted to be close to Kyrenia but removed from town life, so we chose Dogankoy. We come out to the house three times per year and made the decision to selectively rent, primarily to cover costs. Over the years, we have forged some good relationships with the people we rent to and have listened to feedback, which I'm glad to say has been mostly positive, constantly improve the service provided.

We would be glad to help arrange transportation to and from the Airports and also car hire. We have used the same Company for five years because of their reliability.

Had a wonderful time. The house was clean tidy and well maintained. The pool and dining areas were just right . Beautiful view of the mountains. Expat social gathering on a Wednesday evening let us meet a lot of people for a drink.

Close to excellent restaurants and shops .

home from home - a fabulous villa

A beautiful villa, equipped with everything you could need and a real comfy relaxing atmosphere. The photos and descriptions are accurate, the property is spotless and well maintained with assorted seating / cushions / sunbeds / towels and even cool mugs in the freezer ready for use so you can just chill around the pool. A welcome pack is provided and Sue, who looks after the property for the owners, lives locally and is on hand to help in anyway. A sizeable supermarket is within walking distance. We loved it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property and look forward to staying here again.

Comfortable, well equipped in a quiet location

Almond house certainly lived up to its description; the house was clean and well equipped, obviously a home from home. Although a car isn't essential we were glad we hired one (through a company used by the owner which was very reasonable) to pop into Kyrenia and many of the beaches locally. The pool was fantastic and the children especially loved it. We were very impressed by the space and sun beds, tables etc. The property has Wifi which was very appreciated as well! I would definitely recommend Almond house as a fantastic base for exploring Northern Cyprus and we hope to return!

Beautiful house

We arrived late at night to a wonderful welcome pack with tea coffee milk bread etc .

The villa had everything you needed for a comfortable stay .weather was perfect to sit out and enjoy the pool area with plenty of seating areas in the sun or shade .

I would defiantly go back to this villa and recommend it to friends and family .

Special interest holidays:

The beaches we recommend are all with in close proximity of the house, all with in a 10 minute drive along both the east and west coastal roads.


Distances / times to the House by car: Larnaca Airport- 50 minutes. Ercan Airport- 40 minutes. Golf course- 20 minutes. To closest beach - 10 minutes. Bus into town. New Casino walking distance

Very well stocked supermarkets, range of shops, DVD rental shop, excellent Chinese and Mexican takeaways, American, traditional Turkish, Chinese and Indian restaurants all with in walking distance.

Top Night Club - 5 to 10 minutes to Kyrenia centre, castle - 20 minutes.

Further Details:

The House is very well situated close to the Village coffee shop, two minute walk to kiddies play ground. Also well positioned for a nice leisurely walk to the harbours and the town centre. Dogankoy is the closest Village to Kyrenia. There are also restaurants, and excellent takeaway establishments within close walking distance for those who do not wish to hire a car.

Weddings - short drive to Bellapais Abby, an excellent and very popular venue. The house is an ideal choice for the would be bride and grooms family and friends to all be together. Interested in bowling, there are 2 bowling alleys, one locally in Ozankoy Village and a brand new state of the art complex in Lefkosa. North Cyprus cinemas - there are six very good cinemas in Lefkosa, two in Girne and two in Gazi Magusa. They show recently released films mainly from the West. Films are usually changed every week and are shown with their original soundtracks and Turkish subtitles. North Cyprus music - orchestral concerts are regularly held at the venues listed below. If you are lucky enough to catch a concert at the Bellapais Abbey, it is sure to be an unforgettable occasion. Kyrenia: Bellapais Abbey, Bellapais Kyrenia Castle. Nicosia: Ataturk Cultural Centre Famagusta, The Eastern Mediterranean University-Blue Hall. North Cyprus cinemas - there are six very good cinemas in Lefkosa, two in Girne and two in Gazi Magusa. We respectfully request a deposit of £100 per week, with the balance paid 4 weeks prior to the arrival date.
We can arrange / put you intouch with tried and tested car hire and taxis services re pick up from both Ercan and Larnaca Airports, no obligation of charges.

Changeover Day:
It is normal for the house to be vacated by 10.00am on change over day. This can be flexible, depending on circumstances. Please ask.

Notes on prices:
We have not increased the pricing for Holiday rent for the last two years despite substantial energy costs with in the Region. The pricing structure diplayed is based on 2 to 4 person occupency, ie maximum two bedrooms / airconditioning being utilised. Each additional person is charged at an additonal £50 charge per person per week to cover costs.

The final balance paid 30 days prior to arrival.

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.

  • Notes on accommodation: The House has recently been redecorated both inside and out. Outside: The house which is centrally located with in the quite village of Dogankoy, close to the village coffee shop, has wrought iron gates into the driveway and is surrounded by beautiful local stone walls. Well maintained gardens front side and rear, with a selection of orange, lime and lemon trees at the front, scented Jasmin at the side and palms and cacti to the rear. The spacious,safe,rear garden has unrestricted mountain views. The area, in the past called 'Thermia', lives up to its name, by the constant supply of healthy fresh mountain breezes, just right for sun bathing. The tiled rear garden has a private pool, sun bathing areas, umbrellas for shade, tables and chairs for six and a barbecue facility. The pool is well maintained and very inviting. There is a clear view of the mountain range, on which Saint Hiliarian Castle is illuminated at night time, providing a beautiful back drop for evening meals and drinks on the terrace. The smell of jasmin adds to the ambiance. Utility Room: The under stairs storage area contains cool box, masks and snorkels, beach towels, ironing board and mops. Cleaning / Towels / Linen supplied. All bedlinen, towels and beach towels are supplied. Other: Rear garden and sun bathing terrace with shaded relaxing area, swimming pool, outside shower and comfortable cushioned sun beds.
