Lovely Two bedroom trullo in acres of olive groves near stunning Ostuni and the sea
Our trullo is situated just outside the tiny village of Pascarosa, in the green heart of Puglia, between Ostuni, 'la Città Bianca', with its shining white walls, and Martina Franca, an enchanting baroque town. We called 'Il Paradiso' because of the magical peacefulness of the land and gentle noises of nature. It is set amongst acres of ancient olive trees, figs, almonds, pomegranates, and other fruit trees. Sweeping views of distant hill-town villages can be enjoyed from every window. A brand new salt water pool suitable for small children and adults is now an added pleasure for our guests' enjoyment.

Quality trullo in a lovely peaceful location
About the Owner
I was born in Puglia and live in London. I was inspired to go back to my roots and create my 'haven of peace' away from the strains and stresses of city life. My love of Pugliese food led me to run cookery courses in Italy and to work in TV with chefs such as the late Keith Floyd and Rick Stein helping them to discover the truly traditional foods of this unique part of Italy for their respective BBC series. In Puglia I can delight in all the things that are important to me: beautiful tranquil nature, clear blue sea, great food and stunning towns. Rick Stein came to my trullo in Pascarosa and here is his comment: "my friend Anna Maggio has bought a trullo just outside Ostuni and renovated it into an amazingly atmospheric house set in an olive grove" (Rick Stein's Mediterranean Escapes).
Guestbook comments from the owner
Our stay at Trullo Il Paradiso far exceeded our expectations - the setting (in the heart of an ancient olive grove), interior design (a perfect balance of style and functionality amenities (everything you could wish for and more including whiter than white bedlinen and towels) were all exceptional.'
"Thank you again. We really loved our holiday". Jon Kerley, May 2013
'We had a wonderful time staying at the trullo. It is such a beautiful area. And you have the combination of the peace and tranquility at the trullo itself with the ease of access to so many interesting places. We just loved it, and were a little sad to leave!'
"Thank you Anna; it was a unique and unforgettable holiday, in a wonderful part of the world. I hope I can get back to Puglia one day."
"We had a great time and found the Trullo to be utterly charming."

Quality trullo in a lovely peaceful location
Lovely property refurbished to a high standard. Very clean. Accurately described. Small kitchen area. New small pool is fine for a dip, and is good sunbathing area. Quiet, off the road location. Paola the contact was very helpful and necessary to find the property on arrival. She can help out should any problems arise. Local pizzeria/trattoria is simple but adequate. It was what we had expected. Cisternino, Ostuni & Martina Franca were all good for eating, though busy mid summer.
Gorgeous, stylish trullo in beautiful grounds
We loved staying at this beautiful trullo. My kids were in the pool all day, and exploring the beautiful grounds.

“When we bought the trullo in 2004 it was in a derelict state but the sight of the ancient olive trees and almond blossom set within 4 acres of land made it impossible for us to resist the purchase. We kept all the original cones and alcoves and original features and made it comfortable and charming by adding two bedrooms, a bathroom and a living /kitchen area. There is also an open fireplace for the cosy winter nights. In the morning you can choose which fruit you want for breakfast and pick it freshly minutes before eating it! The trullo is situated in the tiny hamlet of Pascarosa, near the beautiful towns of Ostuni "the white city", Martina Franca and the charming Cisternino. You can be by the sea in half hour and reach any restaurants in 15/ 20 minutes.”
Activity and Interests
The trullo is close to the rural hamlet of Pascarosa. It is surrounded by ancient olive trees as well as almond, figs and cherry trees.
There is a lovely trattoria close to the trullo where you can enjoy a typical Pugliese meal.
Special interest holidays:
Cookery demonstrations can be arranged if guests require them.
The sea - The Ostuni coast with emerald coloured sea and sandy coves are a 30 minutes' drive away. You can get to the sea in about half an hour. If you go to Costa Merlata or Torre Pozzelle (off the 376) you can choose from a series of rocky coves and lovely clear water for swimming. Or you can spend the day in the most exclusive beach area, Rosa Marina, where wealthy Italians have their summer villas.
Brindisi Airport: 35km - approximately 40 minutes away.
Bari Airport: 80km - approximately 1 hour 10 minutes away.
A car is essential for shopping/sightseeing/the sea etc.
Puglia has a lot to offer - apart from Ostuni, the lovely 'Citta Bianca' for its whitewashed medieval houses and the great sea view vistas - one should see these delightful small towns all close to Pascarosa: Martina Franca: an exquisite old town with beautiful baroque architecture - here an International Opera Festival takes place during July/August. Little known operas are staged in the courtyard of the wonderful Palazzo Ducale. Cisternino and its wonderful centro storico and much more.
Shopping - there is a small grocery store a mile away from the village (at traffic light turn left and the shop is just after the junction) where you can buy most food stuff such as bread, pasta, milk, cheese, ham and newspapers. Not to be missed is the Saturday morning market in Ostuni - situated in the modern part of the town. It starts early in the morning and continues until about 1pm. The choice of fantastic fruit and vegetables and other local delicacies is quite amazing, making self-catering a real pleasure and extremely economical. Here you can also find clothes, shoes, linen and kitchen goods which are inexpensive and of good quality. If you must purchase Max Mara and Versace clothes you can find shops in Viale Pola which sell these labels.
Our house keeper Francesca would be happy to prepare Pugliese meals if desired.

From the Owner
“The trullo is ideal for anyone seeking a peaceful holiday and for families needing a lot of outdoor space. Because of the thick stone walls the rooms are beautifully cool in summer and warm in winter. No air-conditioning is necessary. Here you can swim in our new salt water pool, sunbathe, read, have a shower under the stars (we have a shower set inside an ancient olive tree!) and eat alfresco without any disturbances. The nearest food shops are between one mile and half to two miles away, and the near supermarket is 15 minutes away. The trattoria situated in Pascaosa is a short walk away (through olive groves) : here you con taste the most delicious Pugliese food cooked by the family who owned the trullo for centuries. Meals can also be prepared for you by our housekeeper. Suppers by candle light and the peace and tranquillity of the place will make your holiday a memorable one.”
