Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your 3rd holiday at the villa during August and September. Its great to have guests that return again as there is so much to see and do in the area. The villa is equipped to be comfortable and homely and can be rented for large or small groups or a couple. The private pool, trampoline and gardens with various places to sit and chill are greatly appreciated by all. With some lovely walks direct from the house and easy access to the village amenities and proximity to the beach its a great place to book for your next holiday.

Very nice property

  • 5 of 5

The property was as described with a great pool which the kids really enjoyed as well as a trampoline. The villa is well equiped for kids with DVDs and a player. Everything was nice and clean. The village is quite small but has the baisc shops and it isn't far from the Carrefour which sells everything you could desire.

Owner's Response: So pleased that you enjoyed your holiday at the villa, which is great for children and adults. There are DVD's for children of all ages and for adults as well as toys for very young children and a selection of games. The traditional village is in the wine growing area of La Clape (recently been awarded the AOC) and boasts a great butchers, bakers (open every day) and a small village shop which stocks basic items.

Summery seaside sort of house

  • 4 of 5

We had a bumpy beginning as our car hire place in Narbonne was shut when we arrived and we were stranded with no food or transport on a Saturday when all was shut and we were lugging big cases. A panic stricken call to Nicki and she said she'd come and get us. What a blessed relief. She couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. She whizzed us round the house and then repacked her car and took off for a three hour drive to her home in the Pyrennees.

The house was great. The upstairs very well laid out and the main bedroom delightful. Anyone wanting quiet and privacy would find the downstairs cave bedroom perfect. The downstairs took some getting used to, but it was great having all those nooks and crannies for sitting reading or quiet conversations. Breakfast and dinner on the terrace was magica l too. We kept the pool covered at night and it was lovely and warm during the day and needed no attention the whole 10 days we were there.

We were 9 adults and had a great time. The village has an excellent butcher who does ready meals that suit vegetarians, the boulangerie is good too and we went down every morning for croissants and brioches. The other rather sad little local shop was being refurbished and has new owners, so hopefully one will be able to buy fruit and veg there. It is a pretty littl village that grows on you. It is surrounded by walks of all grades and is within easy reach of lots of places of historical interest. Thank you Nicki for a great holiday.

A beautiful house and location

  • 5 of 5

We spent two wonderful weeks in this well equipped villa with our daughter and our grandchildren, 3yrs and 7 months. The villa had everything we needed and more. The pool and the trampoline kept our three year old happy. Near enough to the coast and wonderful beaches;also to Narbonne and Carcassonne but very well suited to days at home. The village is friendly and quiet. The bakery offers splendid bread and the butchers meat was fabulous. What more could you want for a relaxing holiday? Brilliant!

Holiday villa as it should be

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weeks stay in the villa, everything was excellent. The villa has everything you need even down to the wine containers to buy from the local Co-operative (well worth it).

We mostly used the pool and outdoor eating area but ventured out for a few days to the aqua park and also to Carcassonne ( also a must to visit).

The village shops were welcoming and the larger hyper-market had all you need.

Overall five stars, and to confirm that, we have already rebooked for next year!!

Beautifully presented villa in quiet surroundings

  • 5 of 5

We loved the property, which was exactly as advertised. Great outdoor spaces, suited our 3 generation family group perfectly. The domed cover over the pool meant we could use it even on poor weather days. The villa was well equipped in all aspects, and we loved the village and walks through the local vineyards. A great holiday, and many thanks to the owner for making us so welcome.

Location

From the Owner

We have owned the villa since 2003, when we saw it we fell in love with it, the pool, gardens and the village. We enjoy time in the villa whenever we can. We rent out the villa because it is in such a unique position and it seems a shame not to share it. The villa is so close to the beach and the town of Narbonne yet nestled in a sleepy vine-growing village - the best of all worlds. In the back garden with the swimming pool you are transported into a secret haven. When you are lying in the sun, enjoying the odd dip and the children are happy playing in the pool or trampoline its very hard to motivate yourself to leave the sanctuary of the villa. However when you do there is so much to enjoy in the area from the beach, to the vineyards, the cathar castles, restaurants ..............
