Modern and spacious, "Safir" is a two-storey apartment, one of four with a shared pool, beautifully maintained gardens and pergola. Absolutely stunning views of sea and mountain, only 10 minute walk to Kalkan centre. Direct access to infinity pool, private BBQ area and patio downstairs. Upstairs balcony leading off both bedrooms. It is pleasant 10 minute walk down to the lively Kalkan town centre.

About Susan Holmes

We are a family of five, with two daughters now in their early 20s and a 15-year old son, who love to travel. We travelled widely before we had our family and have tried, mostly with great success, to continue this as our family has grown. We both work, Pete is a builder, I am a journalist. We are able to offer our lovely apartment up for rent when unable to use it ourselves.

We've travelled extensively with our family. We've been to Australia twice, New Zealand, South Africa, the States, and spent several whole summers touring Europe and Spain. Yet nothing prepared us for the WOW factor we experienced on our first trip to Kalkan, in the summer of 2009. We just fell in love with the place, with the town, with the scenery, with the people. Our daughters described it as "the best holiday they'd ever had" and we had to agree it suited us all. We decided to take the plunge and buy the apartment behind the one we were staying in. We have often considered buying somewhere in the sun, and we didn't need much convincing that this was the place for us. This is our 7th season and so far we have had no regrets and have had very favourable reviews from all our clients

What makes this apartment unique

Unlike some properties in Kalkan, it is within easy reach of the village, a ten minute walk down - admittedly a bit longer on the way up because it is a steep hillside. However, the position, the tranquility and the spectacular views make it all worthwhile. And sitting around the infinity pool or under the Ottoman style pergola makes venturing out a hard decision to make!

We feel this is a property that will appeal to all. Our teenage daughters loved the lively atmosphere of the town; our son loves the pool, nearby beaches and beach clubs. And my 80 year old parents, complete with mobility scooter, enjoyed several day trips and, like us, can't wait to return.

Notes on accommodation: Very peaceful and truly stunning location, yet within easy reach of the village centre. Easy access to weekly market. This is strictly a non-smoking apartment and this will be enforced by our caretaker on site. Outside: Beautifully maintained landscaped gardens, large, shared infinity pool, filled from April to end of October. Ottoman-style pergola overhangs the pool with cushioned seating area. Use of sunloungers and umbrellas, outdoor patio area with table and chairs, and private BBQ area with gas BBQ. Apartment has two wicker rocking chairs, usually kept outside and a hammock. Utility Room: Gas BBQ, iron and ironing board, clothes horse, two rocking chairs, hammock. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included, changed once weekly. Property cleaned once weekly. Other: French doors leading to shared pool, gardens and pergola, and also to private patio area with table and chairs, BBQ area with rocking chairs and hammock.

Beautiful apartment with stunning view

We had a wonderful week at the apartment in Kalkan. The apartment was very clean, airy and comfortable with plenty of space for us all. The views were absolutely breathtaking. The facilities were great and the owners gave us lots of useful tips about places to visit in the area.

The apartment is a short walk from the centre of Kalkan where there are lots of restaurants to choose from and interesting shops to browse. We went on a trip to the Saklikent Gorge which is nearby and is worth a visit.

I would definitely recommend the property to friends and would happily stay there again!

Fantastic holiday in the most amazing apartment

We have just returned from the most fantastic holiday, including 10 nights in Safir apartment - and four on a gulet cruise. We can't recommend the apartment highly enough, the views of the beautiful Kalkan bay are just out of this world. Watching the sunset over the mountains made it a very difficult decision to peel ourselves away and wander down to the delightful town, with its dozens of top-class restaurants. The pool and garden area is spotlessly maintained and we particularly loved the rocking chairs and hammock. The apartment is very spacious and well equipped. Sitting in bed with a cup of tea in the morning and just drinking in THAT view - well what more could you wish for!! We will definitely be back.

A gem of a location

What a gem of a location this is, in an apartment with everything you need for a memorable stay plus a lovely pool and views to die for. Lounge around the pool, lie under the awning, gaze at Mouse island away at the edge of the bay, watch the boats slipping in and out... perfect, lazy days. In the evenings stroll down the hill, come back by taxi after dining well in one of the many tip-top restaurants with prices to suit every pocket. Day trips are plentiful and cheap. Visits to beaches are just a taxi ride away. the weekly market under the huge canopy is astonishing. Kalkan is like a picturesque Cornish village except the temp is in the 70s and the sun is never-ending. Recommended.

A splendid apartment, comfortable and well equipped. The location at the top of the hill is stunning and the views are memorable. Fine to walk down the steep hill to get into town, and a taxi back up is cheap and easy. The fit will walk back up the hill with ease or do it slowly and sip champagne from your flask. The pool is big enough for a decent swim, the shaded patio area is provided with deep cushions and its far too easy to fall asleep there after a swim. We have never been there yet and found the four apartments full at the same time so there is plenty of room and the pool is uncrowded. And when others are there it is a perfect way to make new friends. There is adequate outdoor dining furniture but who wants to eat in when there are so many wonderful restaurants in town. Kalkan itself is a gem of a place, the harbour is delightful with opportunities for lazy day boating and harbourside breakfasts. Highly recommended. We have stayed there 5 times... that tells you all you need to know. In fact I am reluctant to speak so highly as this is a place you want to keep to yourself.

Changeover Day:
We are flexible wherever we can be. If no-one is booked in immediately afterwards, it is possible to stay longer but if there is a changeover on the day, please vacate the apartment by 12 noon. Arrival 4pm, again unless the apartment is free.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. Use of bed setee for extra person is an additional £50 per week. Please note pool filled from 1st April to end of October. 25% deposit secures booking, final payment due 10 weeks prior to departure. Refundable breakage cheque of £200. Check in 4pm, checkout 12 noon, as a rule although can be flexible if apartment vacant.
