This fully furnished 1 bedroom apartment has its own patio, garden, and access to owner’s pool. The interior is modern, light and spacious with a fully fitted kitchen and air-conditioning in both the bedroom and living area.

Our apartment is situated in a quiet residential area one mile from the famous West Coast road with all its beaches, restaurants, shops, and bars.

Paynes Bay is the nearest beach but there are many beautiful beaches along the west coast. Holetown, which is approximately 3 miles away, offers beach bars, sun beds, water sports, etc. A nice place to spend the day relaxing on the beach.

The apartment has a spacious living room with air conditioning, sofa bed for extra guests, dining area, fan, Wi-Fi, 32" SMART cable TV with DVD player, telephone, books, games and detailed information pack. Door leading to private patio and garden. There are mosquito screens on the door and all windows.

An archway leads from the living room into the very well equipped kitchen. Two windows ensure the kitchen is light and airy. There is a full range of floor and wall units, fridge freezer, full size electric oven with hob, microwave, washing machine, kettle, and toaster. Excellent range of cooking utensils, crockery and glasses for inside and outside use.

The bedroom has air conditioning, queen size bed, double wardrobe, mirrors, dressing table unit, hairdryer, bedside cabinets with lights and alarm clock. There is an en-suite shower room with large shower, hand basin in vanity unit & WC.

The apartment has its own patio and garden with table and chairs, umbrella, loungers, BBQ and washing line. The pool is at the rear of the property, accessed from the owner's patio. Dart board available on request.

Linen is changed weekly and bathroom and poolside towels twice a week. There is a full size washing machine in the apartment.

Grantley Adams International Airport is approximately 13 miles away. Car hire is advisable but not essential. There is plenty of parking available. We can arrange for a hire car to be delivered to the property at very favourable rates. Local buses run into Bridgetown approximately every 10 mins just a 3 minutes walk from the apartment.

If you enjoy walking, there are many good walks in the area, including the Sandy Lane Golf course which is just a 10 min walk away. A 20 mins walk will take you to the West Coast road where, as well as beaches and bars, there are buses north to Holetown and Speightown, or south into Bridgetown.

The accommodation is centrally located giving easy access to all parts of the island. Barbados is just 166 sq miles, 21 miles x 14 miles, so everywhere is within easy reach.

Warrens, one of the largest shopping areas on the island, is just a 5 minutes drive. You will also find take-away restaurants, a 24-hour gaming restaurant, banks and a petrol station at Warrens. There is a local café just a few minutes walk away. An information pack in the apartment has details of all the activities and places of interest on the island. The owners are also available to advise and assist with booking trips and evening entertainment. St Johns church is only a 2 minutes walk from the apartment. We only require a 20% deposit to secure booking with the balance due 4 weeks before arrival.

Apart from Barbados’s beautiful beaches, restaurants and nightlife, don’t miss out on some of the special events and activities held on this Caribbean island such as the Crop-Over Carnival, Jazz Festival, Holders Season, cricket, horse racing Gold Cup, Barbados auto racing, deep sea fishing, polo, jeep safari trips, horse riding, scuba diving, and much much more.

Our aim is to give our guests all the comforts of home, so that they can relax in the privacy of the apartment and enjoy our beautiful island as much as we do.

About Chris Taitt

We retired to Barbados in July 2008. I am English and my husband Bill is Barbadian. After being in the RAF for 22 years, he decided he wanted to return home to Barbados. Who was I to argue with a chance to live in this beautiful island?

We viewed many properties in Barbados, looking for a pleasant residential area, not too overcrowded, but central to all amenities, and most importantly, not too far from the sea. We have not been disappointed with our choice of location.

What makes this apartment unique

We refurbished our house and an apartment for our friends and relatives. The apartment is now also available for rent to others who are looking for a home away from home in paradise. As we live on the premises we are here to ensure that our guest have everything they need to enable them to enjoy their holiday and this wonderful island as much as we do.

We stayed with Bill and Chris at their lovely holiday apartment. It had everything we could wish for with a really nice en-suite and patio. Bill and Chris couldn't have been nicer and are so helpful. The apartment is a short drive away from the West Coast beach. There are lovely bars and restaurants very nearby if you don't feel like cooking after a really hard day enjoying the sunshine. Make sure that you ask Bill and Chris the name of the bistro where you can sit and enjoy a cold beer or cocktail while you watch the sunset. Not to be missed. Fantastic. We would definitely go again. Had a great time, great service from Bill and Chris picked up from the airport and made to feel very welcome, lovely new apartment very clean and spacious nice pool to cool down in after a hot day sight seeing ,close to lovely beaches.

Notes on accommodation: No smoking is allowed inside the apartment although guests may smoke on their private terrace if they wish. The owner's pool is for use of paying guests only. This ground-floor apartment is situated in a no-through road in a quiet residential area. Guests are free to use the owners pool which is approximately 19 ft x 9 ft and situated at the rear of the property. Dart board is available on request. These facilities are strictly for use of paying guests only. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning is provided prior to arrival. Linen is changed weekly and bathroom and poolside towels twice a week.

Great accomodation

Excellent guest accomodation. Very clean apartment with all amenities and services. Apartment was fitted with everything we needed. We stayed for one week on vacation and there was nothing we could not find at the apartment. From kitchen appliances, utensils, dishes, kettle, toaster oven and toaster, pots and pans, cleaning agents, iron, ironing board, you name it, they had it. And I must emphasize the owner's cleanliness. I was very impressed. The apartment is also spacious and can accommodate about two to four guests and is very well organized. One of the perks I must mention, in addition to the double bed in the bedroom, there is also a pull out bed from the couch, about the size of a double bed as well. It pulls out right in front the tv :) We particularly liked this and it's great if ur traveling with kids for example. As mentioned, everything u need! The owners are very accommodating and easy to contact, residing on site just upstairs. They were very kind and even offered us a few groceries the first day we arrived before we had gotten a chance to go to the supermarket. They checked in on us to ensure everything was ok throughout our stay, changing used towels and even offered to take us to the supermarket. We felt very well cared for. The area is safe and we felt very comfortable coming and going from different places even after a night out. There is a supermarket walking distance from the house and other attractions such as beaches and restaurants are a short taxi ride away. I highly recommend this listing, especially if you are searching for an affordable place for your vacation stay. I will be returning anytime I visit Barbados. Five thumbs up for Chris and Bill.

Amazing holiday in Barbados

Me and my partner stayed 2 weeks and 4 days in this beautiful apartment. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday, this is the perfect place for you.

The apartment located in Holders Hill which is a higher point on the island of Barbados. Means there is always some breeze coming so it is easier to bear the temperature if you're not used to it. You can catch a bus or van to town just around the corner. They are running frequently throughout the day.

The apartment has everything you need. The kitchen is fully equipped, (pots and pans, big fridge with freezer, kettle, toaster, trays for baking...) I enjoyed cooking and preparing for the Christmas meals. :)

The Wifi is strong so you can keep in touch with your loved ones.

There is also AC and fans in both rooms.

It can get quite hot inside during the day, but first we ran the AC for 30 min to cool it down, then open all the windows and get the fans going, so you can get a comfortable cooling breeze through the apartment.

The bed is comfortable and if you are more than two, there is a couch in the living room you can open as well.

The owners, Chris and Bill live just above the apartment, they are super nice and friendly and very helpful.

We hardly noticed they are there, as we had our own entrance and had total privacy.

Their pool is also free to use, so we enjoyed that as well sometimes.

Overall, I definitely recommend this apartment and again, I enjoyed my time in Barbados immensely.

Home from Home

Chris and Bill made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived at Adawna. The property is located in a residential neighbourhood but you have a local shop within 3 mins walking distance. Also Holetown is on your door step with the new Massy store and other shopping and dining ,really all that you need can be found in Holetown, with the city of Bridgetown very accessible by local transport. The apartment itself is very clean and Chris has provided everything that you would need to make your stay comfortable and on very hot days which is most days the pool is a great way to keep cool. Chris and Bill are also a great information resource for activities and other local knowledge.

Being local we were not the usual tourists so we found our way around quite well nevertheless Chris was available to lend assistance at a moments notice. When we had lazy days in we also enjoyed listening to her playing her piano (Chris doesn't think she's any good at it but just like us you will think other wise😊).

All in all a marvellous host so please tell your friends and family about this accommodation the owners are honest and helpful people. Go to Adawna and just relax.

Lastly I strongly believe that it would benefit you to hire a car simply because walking up Holders Hill in the sun is no joke and not for the faint hearted !!! But if you feel brave go for it😎

Our plan is to return to the island next year and if we do then as far as we are concerned our accommodation will be a no brainier... Adawna !!!

Wonderful holiday in a fabulous apartment

This was our fourth stay at the Adawna apartment and everything was as good as the first time we visited. It is a modern and well equipped apartment and the hosts Chris and Bill are both welcoming and informative about things to see and do on the island. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this property and are very much looking forward to our next visit.

Very well equipped apartment. Friendly and helpful hosts.

The apartment has all the facilities for a self catering stay. Nice small pool and private outside space for guests. Good location in a quiet residential area. The hosts are very knowledgable about what the island has to offer. Chris very kindly made several bookings for excursions and meals out. Overall guests are made very welcome, nothing is too much trouble. We found car hire very useful for our stay. We would highly recommend staying here and would return again without any question.

So absolutely wonderful!!!

It was so nice to stay with Chris and Bill. They were wonderful and gave us really great tips for days out - the best really. It was like meeting old friends. Chris took me to the supermarket and we had a meal out as well - they are such nice people. The apartment was lovely. We were 4 but we managed - I mean you go to Barbados to get out and about, I could stay indoors in the UK for free! But the space was lovely and clean and a great well equipped kitchen - all you need. The pool was enjoyed by all. I really miss this place, would move there in a heartbeat if I could. Chris was so nice to the kids and knitted them these lovely Christmas tree decorations. So kind - I will always remember her when I decorate the tree. Chris and Bill you are welcome to visit us anytime when you are in the UK. I've promised you a dinner!!!!! xxx

Batik and art classes also available locally.

St Johns church is only a 2 minutes walk from the apartment.

There are many international events held throughout the year in Barbados.

Sporting events: Cricket, polo, horse racing, auto racing, sailing, surfing, fishing, and much more. You can participate in swimming with the turtle, snorkeling, diving, horse riding, zip line, guided walks and much, much more.

Carnival time is the first Monday in August with many musical events in the weeks before.

Open air musical concerts of all kinds throughout the year including the famous Holders Season in March. Try Harbour Lights if you want to party the night away in the sand.

With historical walks, wonderful tropical gardens, museums, the Garrison Savannah, rum factory, etc, Barbados is more than just it's wonderful beaches and restaurants.

Changeover day is flexible. The apartment will be available from 3pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. If the apartment is not let before or after your arrival these times may be varied by prior arrangement.


Notes on prices:
Prices quoted are for 2 people (sleeping in the main bedroom), per week in UK pounds.
A sofa bed is available in the lounge area at additional cost. There is a charge of £20 per night for anyone sleeping in the lounge area. All enquires are answered within 24 hours.
