Apartment in Docklands, Central London, England - St Kathrine's Dock Area, Great Location for a London Holiday

We are in the oldest part of London on the east-side. Tradewinds Court is a 20 year old development of the old London docks where the old clipper ships used to race back from the Far East with their cargoes of tea and spices. A gated community, it is situated across the road from a Waitrose supermarket. Just a 2 minute walk from St. Katherine's Dock marina where there are yachts from all over the world and shops, pubs and numerous restaurants. Our rental includes a free private parking space. A short walk from Tower Hill tube station, which will take you into the west end and theatre land - it's a great location to see all that London has to offer.

Mr. Harris, I have posted this in a couple of Newsgroups. Feel free to quote me if you wish. I have a feeling that you are most likely to appeal to the repeat visitor than to the first timer: Americans in particular are very timid about traveling abroad. They are intimidated by foreignness - if I travel 500 miles here I am barely across part of the country, in Europe I am six countries away - a different perspective. Therefore newbies tend to be more likely to want the security of the hotel. Others are back-packing, money-saving, shoestring types - I don't know whether you would enjoy such campers in your flat. - Bob Fusillo

Excellent Stay at Tradewinds

Cosy apartment.Close to all amenities (Waitrose just round the corner for food shopping). Public transport within easy reach for all attractions without the hassle and noise of London.Excellent value for money-Highly recommended.

Cosy and convenient

This is our fourth stay at Tradewinds Court. We visit London usually at least once a year and this flat is top of our list. Conveniently located for transport (15 mins pleasant walk from Tower Hill tube) you can easily get to the West End and all parts of London. We visit friends and relatives in various locations, so it is ideal. The flat itself is warm and cosy, quietly situated and generally well equipped. The owner, Terry, usually meets guests on arrival and has always been very helpful and friendly. It is also good value for money.

Great sightseeing base in London

This is a delightful, well equipped, very comfortable flat, very suitable for a couple visiting London to sightsee. Close to the Tube, and buses, and Waitrose, an excellent supermarket. Restaurants close by at St. Katherine's dock. The owners provide nice extra touches, such as flowers and a bottle of wine, and basic condiments are left for other visitors to use.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words although I cannot think why you have recommended it to tourists without a car? We must be one of the very few central London rentals with a safe ,FREE carpark. Many of our visitors from home and abroad find it a godsend.

St. Katherine Docks

We had a great time in London and a part of the fun was this very comfortable apartment on a few minutes walk from the tube (Tower Hill) and bus stops. It has a good bed, a nice bathroom and a well equipped kitchen (in which we only once cooked a meal).

St Katherine's Dock

We were welcomed with fresh roses, wine and other goodies. It just around 10 minutes walking to the Tower Hill undergroundstation and there is buss number 100 in less than 1 minute walking, which takes you to the Tower Hill undergroundstation if you do not want to walk the nice way along St Katherin's warf with many restaurants, bars and cafés. There is also a very good supermarket, Waitrose, just around the corner. The flat is perfect for 2 persons, quiet and cose and the area feels very safe. We did not miss anything. Thank you Terry.

Notes on accommodation: We are only geared to accommodate two adults. There is only one bedroom and we have no facilities for children. We have a strict no-smoking policy. People under 25 and pets are not acceptable. Our rate is fully inclusive. Outside: We are a gated community in the centre of London. We have security gates and TV surveillance. It is usually a quite place. There are private car spaces around the blocks mixed with small gardens and pleasant walks around the old docks. Just across the road is St. Katherine's dock marina so you can relax and look at the boats. Shopping is easy because of the nearby Waitrose supermarket. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment is cleaned before your arrival with the beds made up. Towels and bedlinen are changed each week. There is no maid service. Other: In the hall there is a small cupboard with coat hanger stand, vacuum cleaner and an electric fan.
