Forming part of the Royal Cabanas Golf Development close to the well known Henry Cotton designed Benamor Golf Club and within easy reach of Cabanas beach front and the the beautiful town of Tavira (known as little Venice & one of the most beautiful towns in the Algarve), this well equipped luxury air conditioned ground floor apartment is one of the few with direct access to the pool area (Kiddies pool area visible from the terrace). The property offers two good sized bedrooms with built-in wardrobes (one with patio doors to the private terrace) , a fully fitted kitchen, an open plan lounge/diner with patio doors to the private terrace as well as a luxury bathroom and shower room. There are a choice of convenience stores and restaurants within a short walking distance and the property is also conveniently located within walking distance of the quaint fishing village of Cabanas with it's board walk promenade, cash points, shops, supermarkets and variety of excellent restaurants/bars. A two minute taxi-boat ride escorts you from this area to the stunning blue flag Cabanas Beach with it's beach bar/cafe, water sports facilities, sunbeds, parasols, showers and toilets. For the Golfer, there are 7 golf courses within easy reach, Benamor being just across the road, others include Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima, Castro Marim, The Monte Rei Golf and Country club and Quinta do Vale. For shopping, visit the magnificent recently opened nearby "Grand plaza" shopping centre a stylish place to visit with a magnificent range of shops/boutiques, restaurants and easy on site parking. For those who enjoy exploring, the nearby railway station provides a rail link to Tavira and the coastal resorts/towns along the whole stretch of the Algarve coastline.

About the Owner

We live in beautiful Beaumaris in Anglesey, North Wales and are a family of 5, we love our apartment as it's like home from home, the weather is nearly always sunny and the journey time is so reasonable. We have an online estate agency warriners.co.uk and this keeps us nice and busy but there are times when it's lovely to get away even if it's just a long weekend. The kids are growing up quickly, our daughter Anneliese is now 24 and works in Hong Kong and our 2 sons Adam and Kieran are now working. We always like to take Jean my mother in law who is a keen traveller and great fun to have around.

Good sized property

We stayed here for a week with our boys aged 19 and 17 , the rooms were of a good size , both bedrooms had their own en suite bathroom . Air conditioning was good and TV had BBC 1 and ITV plus Sky News to let you keep in touch with the news if required . Access to the pool was perfect and the outside area / balcony was a suntrap between 4pm and 7pm , perfect for a late afternoon drink . Kitchen had plenty of utensils , plates etc and cleaning equipment with washing machine in utility .The supermarket was 5 mins walk along with some bars and restaurants . The walk into Canbanhas was 20 minutes and in some areas were void of footpaths . The boardwalk on the river at Cabanhas was lively and there were plenty of restaurant and bar options . The beach was packed and didnt really look safe for swimming due to the size of the tidal waves . The train station at Cabanhas offers access to the whole of the Algarve coast - train we used was 20 mins late . Really relaxed holiday - would use again . Jeff and Wendy gave us a tour round on the first night and were very helpful throughout our stay .

An outstanding apartment!

We absolutely loved this apartment. It was incredibly well furnished, clean and spacious. It was equipped with everything needed to have a great holiday. It was clearly someone's home from home and was maintained to a very high standard. We had great communication from the owners and the property managers were always on hand if required. We have a young family and spent a lot of time around the pool, which was never busy. Would recommend spending some time in Tavira which was a lovely town and we preferred Barril Beach to Cabanas as it was a bit quieter but both were lovely. We would highly recommend this apartment.

Stayed here 3 times now,and will return to this area and property again

This apt is lovely,very spacious,two large bedrooms and huge wardrobes,two bathrooms and a lovely well furnished lounge.The patio area outside is huge with plenty of space for a table and four chairs and sunloungers.It is on the groundfloor and ideal if the children are at the swimming pool as you can keep a close eye on them.There is a supermarket chemist and bar within 5 minutes walk and the front at cabanas with many bars and resturants is a 15 minutes walk,5 minutes by car.Highly recommended.

Great appartment

The apartment was great, and was very clean. The owner provided good directions and location if services etc. we would definitely recommend this property. The best restaurant was the Vert in located close by. Plenty of restaurants in Cabanas and Tavira was a beautiful town to walk round which was a short taxi or train ride.

Good location

We stayed for a fortnight in August. The apartment is well maintained with all necessary conveniences in a modern clean block. As it's on the ground floor you can leave via the patio and be by the pool in seconds without having to lock up your apartment and negotiate the stairs. The availability of Wi-Fi was a useful addition.

It's perfectly possible to walk to the beach although this isn't a short stroll and may not be something you'd want to do daily in the summer heat. We had a car and as the complex was on the outskirts of Cabanas it meant we were close to the main coastal road and able to get around really easily. The owners were very helpful in advance and provided lots of useful information on places to visit, especially restaurants which were all superb. Cabanas is a great destination, very relaxing with extremely friendly and welcoming locals.

Location

From the Owner

The great thing about the apartment, is that it is spacious and very comfortable with direct access from the private terrace to the pool. The area is great whether you are into just strolling to a nearby bar/restaurant, want to be within easy walking distance of the beach or are a keen golfer (Benamor GC is just across the main road) Conceicao railway station is also just down the road and provides an easy link to the algarve coastal towns.

Special interest holidays:

Cabanas is in a protected nature reserve called the Ria Formosa which makes the area excellent for Walking, Bird watching, Swimming, Cycling and Fishing.

Coast/Beach:

The apartment is a 10-15 minute walk from Cabanas Waterfront with its new Boardwalk Promenade. The delightful white sandy beach at Cabanas is reached by taking a 2 minute taxi-boat ride, which transports passengers all day across the estuary of the Rio Formosa to the far side of the sand bank. Cabanas has clear water and is a blue flag beach which is rarely overcrowded with gorgeous golden sand and blue lagoons. The beach is well served by amenities including a beach cafe.

Travel:

Most budget airlines fly to Faro which is only half an hour by road. Conceicao Railway station is within only a few minutes walking distance from the apartment, this railway covers the length of the Algarve from from the far west Algarve to Spain in the east. There are plenty of car hire companies at the airport or you could arrange to hire a car more locally for a few days.

Nearby Tavira is called "The prettiest town" in Portugal by the Portuguese. Located 25 kms from Faro and 20 Kms from Spain, it is a firm favourite for discerning visitors. Tavira is an ancient town with a Phoenician, Roman and Moorish past. It has a castle, over 35 churches and a superb seven arch Roman Bridge. On both sides of the River Gilao you can find good shopping with local produce, including fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, basket ware, pottery, ceramic tiles, wrought iron work and cork and shell handicrafts. Friendly locals welcome you, important whether you are just browsing or wining and dining in the many bars and restaurants, on the river front or in the fascinating cobbled streets. A short Ferry trip takes you to the Ilha de Tavira to one of the best beaches along the entire coast. Clean, safe bathing protected by the offshore sandbars is complimented by the few cafes and bars. Some 7kms of soft sand easily accommodates all the sun bathers, swimmers, windsurfers and sailors even in peak season. The scenic location of Tavira, protected by its natural lagoon, offers tranquility and the opportunity to observe nature and birdlife at its best. Those with a car, why not travel north to visit the wonderful city of Lisbon or venture east over the nearby spanish border and visit the andalusian favourite of Seville (a beautiful city with magnificent architecture).
