Apartment in La Siesta 2, Calle Monte Paraiso, Sitio de Calahonda, Costa del Sol, Spain - Quiet Location Within Walking Distance Variety Of Shops And Restaurants

The flat is entered on the first floor with internal stairway to second floor. Archway to fitted kitchen with all mod cons, opening into lounge/diner with large sliding doors to large balcony, this in turn has spiral staircase to roof terrace covering entire length and width of the flat. Great at all times of the year except July and August when it is just too hot to go there but I have recently installed a rooftop hot/cold shower for cooling down. Air conditioning / heating unit in reception area. Working fireplace in reception. Wi-fi throughout whole of the flat and 24 channel English TV package, bluetooth speaker. New soft furnishing in lounge giving it a fresh look and feel. Sun loungers. Easy walk down to sea and local shops/restaurants and bars, but uphill back or you can take the little train that goes around the development at regular intervals. No need to hire a car but if you do there is an allocated parking space in a secure garage under the building. Please book this in advance. Parking available on the street outside the block as well. Swimming pool will have a communal bar be que area shortly and a children's playground is planned.

The flat is a true joy to stay in being just a short walk from the restaurants and shops on Calahonda, yet being in a very quiet location and having a beautiful swimming pool and gardens. The balconies and roof terrace offer privacy and give the flat a feeling of space, as well as security, being on the first and second floors. I like to change things in the flat and add things that I think people will enjoy, such as a picnic bag and cafetiere so, if after your stay you have any suggestions, please let me know. Being an enthusiastic tennis player and having children who enjoy keeping fit, it is a bonus to be able to walk to the Club del Sol where there are 18 tennis courts and a comprehensive gym as well as a lovely Golf course, La Siesta just at the top of the road.

My father was a pioneering property developer on the Costa del Sol in the early 1970's so we had a holiday home there and I have been holidaying on the coast every year ever since! Although the coast has changed beyond recognition since those early days, it is still an amazing place to be and my own children now choose to holiday here. We have an enduring love affair with the Costa and I cannot imagine not coming here. I even speak Spanish with the local dialect, which I am told by friends from the North of Spain, is nothing to be proud of! The flat is in a great position being in a very quiet block yet within easy walking distance of shops and nightlife.

What makes this apartment unique

The flat has a great feeling of space due to the huge sliding doors that go out onto the balcony area. This and the huge roof terrace give plenty of opportunities to have a quiet read or sunbathe. Super fast fibre optic broadband mean one canemail friends in rainy blighty whilst sitting on the balcony or roof terrace in the sun! I have also added some furniture to the roof terrac and Jave installed a hot/Cold shower there. Bliss when you just want a quick cooling, pool area now totally buggy/disabled friendly with ramps and toilet. . Just added new package of English TV channels - BBC 1,2,3,4, ITV 1,2,3,4, BBC News, Film 4, 5USA and more which makes the flat very comfortable for a night in. Bluetooth speaker which you can pair with your devices.

Notes on accommodation: There is one air conditioning unit in the main reception room, wall mounted heaters in the main bedroom and lounge to make it cosy during the winter months. Outside: The flat has direct access to a large balcony with outside table and seating for 4 plus 2 sun loungers, with awning. There is a spiral staircase to a huge roof terrace with further tables and chairs for 4 which is wonderful to use in the winter as it is a real ‘sun trap’ and the walls protect it from wind. There is a large, well maintained swimming pool with disabled access and children’s area situated within exotic, landscaped gardens. Shower and WC facilities. Lifeguard during July and August. The property is entered via a gated entrance thereby ensuring privacy and safety. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided. Extra cleaning and laundry can be arranged. For stays of longer than 9 nights a mid-holiday or weekly linen and towel change is included within the rental cost.

Absolutely loved our stay here such a comfortable and clean apartment in a lovely area and is wonderfully maintained with beautifully kept gardens and a gorgeous pool. Had some fantastic food in nearby restaurants . Would definitely recommend this apartment.

Great place

This place really is a home from home,very clean & well equiped,the sun terrace is large & well furnished, I would highly recommend a stay here,the owner tina was only a phone call as was tina at the letting agents,i look forward to returning in the future 😊😊😊

Good location, large roof terrace

This apartment has much to recommend it. There is a good size lounge with a view down the street to the sea. A large terrace off the lounge and big roof terrace with views. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance. The communal pool and garden looked nice and well maintained. The nearest beach is also within walking distance if you don’t mind the long walk uphill on the way back. The wifi works well and the TV has the main English channels. I noticed that the owner had purchased the property in 1995. This probably explains why the kitchen, bathrooms and some of the furniture was shabby and due for an update. The kitchen equipment could also do with an update to replace the various mismatched, broken or old items. We have sent the owner a list of the various things that need fixing e.g. DVD player, broken chair, etc. As guests we were short of room for our own things as most cupboards and shelves were occupied by the owner’s things. This is the first time we have rented somewhere with large family photos in the lounge and bedroom. Overall we felt we were staying in the owner’s tired second home rather than a top quality holiday property.

I am not sure what your expectations were as my photos are up to date and the flat is inspected in a regular basis. You mention having family photos made you feel uncomfortable but I would point out that the apartment is a home and I feel it is appropriate to have my dear ones displayed especially as it is their home too. Relaxing stay!

We really enjoyed our week here. The apartment is exactly as in the photos, we particularly enjoyed relaxing on the roof terrace, which is a lovely sheltered place for reading in the winter sunshine.

The walks along the boardwalk are lovely, and we also enjoyed days out to Ronda and Mijas Pueblo.

Didn't want to go home! Thanks for a lovely stay In your apartment Tina.

A great spot to relax and recharge.

Spent four thoroughly relaxing days in this lovely apartment. Apartment is exactly as shown in the photos, has everything you could possibly need for a short or long stay and is in a very pleasant and peaceful location with all essential amenities (beach, supermarkets, restaurants, etc.) nearby. A great spot to relax and recharge.

Communication with the owner prior to arrival was excellent, very prompt and informative. Location is hilly but a car is not necessary if you are fit and able. An excellent experience from start to finish.

Lovely South facing apartment

Spacious bright lovely apartment, with all amenities on hand. Wonderful South facing balcony, and a Hugh rooftop terrace ideal for sun bathing, complete with shower for cooling off.

The apartment is near shops and restaurants, and within walking distance of the beach.

Granada, and Seville are within reach, if you want to explore the area, as are the lovely mountain villages.

Calahonda beach is a 10 minute downhill walk so the return journey varies according to age, fitness and how much you are carrying! There is a train that goes around Calahonda at regular intervals. Within a 10 minute drive or bus ride there are the sandy beaches of both La Cala and Puerto Cabopino, with water sports and beach side restaurants and bars.


Nearest airport is Malaga. Transfer time by taxi approx 25 mins. Also reached by taking the train from the airport to Fuengirola(Renfe) 6.50 euros and air conditioned, then taking the bus to Calahonda or taxi from rank outside train station.


Calahonda is 18km from Marbella and 27 from Malaga, both being reached easily by bus/train. The historic cities of Ronda and Granada are within reach for a day trip, as is Gibraltar. Fuengirola is 8km. The whitewashed mountain village of Mijas is about a 25 min drive (or can be reached by taking 2 buses). Public transport is reliable and reasonably priced.

Situated on Calahonda itself, in the shopping area called El Zoco, is a variety of restaurants, bars, supermarkets and other shops, banks, car hire companies, travel agents etc.
