3 Westlook Apartments is just a few mins walk from the beautiful Reeds Bay beach of Lower Carlton, in a quiet cul de sac with only 6 other properties.

On the first floor in a small block of 4 apartments the elevated position provides wonderful, panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea. Facing due West, it is perfect for watching the sunset.

The apartment itself is light & airy, has a traditional pickled-pine high-vaulted ceiling, & benefits from cooling breezes. The unusually large covered terrace of more than 250sq. ft. provides the perfect living space to watch the sunset over the sea. It is luxuriously furnished with comfortable sofas, sun loungers & dining area, with fairy lights and candles for the evening.

Inside are all the mod cons you would expect to find - flat screen TV, multi-region DVD/CD player, broadband WiFi & digital security safe, together with a well equipped kitchen & air-conditioned bedrooms.

Outside there is a small communal garden with tropical planting, seats, & car parking.

Living in Surrey, we have both enjoyed careers as Air Traffic Controllers. Steve is making the most of early retirement, and Ros has just recently (2016) taken voluntary redundancy. We love travelling whenever we can, and have visited many interesting and spectacular places all over the world. As keen divers we have visited many of the Caribbean Islands, and have felt most at home in Barbados.

Superb!!

This is our third time at this superb apartment and our second time this year! It is extremely well maintained by the owners and the management company and really does tick all the boxes. The inside is very well furnished and very comfortable with quality beds and fixtures and fittings. The outdoor living space is truly brilliant with a spectacular view over the Caribbean sea, watching the sun set from here is a definite highlight! The apartment is a five minute walk to a very quiet, beautiful beach, five minutes to a local shop and bar/ eatery and about ten minutes to a rum shack, fish market and fruit/ vegetable stall. Getting around is easy because of the proximity to the coastal road, Holetown and Speightstown. If you do decide to book you will not be disappointed!

Lovely apartment in a great location

My husband and I spent 10 days in the apartment and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The apartment was exactly as described in the online description, clean and well appointed. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

The owners were very informative and helpful sending out a detailed information pack prior to our arrival and answering any queries we had. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment.

Breathtaking

Arrived in Barbadous 14 May 2016 for 10 days and stayed at Westlock Apartments.. It was truly amazing .. The apartment was much more than we expected .. We had looked at the pics and thought wow.. But it was Perfect like Home from Home !! Everything you could want and much much more ..

We have never stayed in an Apartment before so was abit septical but it was perfect...

Ros the Owner could not have been more helpful when booking with advice on we're to eat places to visit even arranging the taxi from the Airport who was a lovely gentleman called Lloyd .. Who was waiting immediately at the airport and took us straight to our Appartment which was only about 2o 30 mins from the airport so was perfect.

Cleaning service every few days beds changed was so so nice really was looked after even though my Husband loves cleaning lol the Apartment was spotless all week infact we even sent the cleaning girl away once as we had kept the apartment so nice .. Fresh towels regularly was amazing .. We cannot wait return.. As for Barbadous PARADISE !!!!

The views from the apartment are Stunning and watching the Sunset was Breathtaking ..

Beaches are to die for .. The locals are so so friendly and you must go and see Jefferson at the bottom of the road he has a local shop we a few bits and bobs but also a bar were he cooks delicious food at reasonable prices .. He and his Wife are the nicest people we have ever met.. We ate there a number of times and every time was delicious..

Mullins beach is a nice beach with comfy sunbeds and a bar on the beach lovely friendly locals there with Jet ski.s boats and various trips you must try one of them .. Amazing .

The sea is Amazing the weather is Amazing .. Def would go for 2 or 3 weeks next year it's truly iydilic !!!!

Faultless

We had a brilliant time and I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone planning a trip to Barbados.

Communication with Ros was brilliant and the travel pack was detailed.

The location was also perfect, with just a short walk down the hill to Jeffersons bar and a lovely beach.

I would also recommend Lloyd for car hire. Ros has his contact details - he will meet you at the airport, sort the paperwork etc at the apartment and drive you back to the airport after your stay. I had a minor shunt when we were there (not my fault and hardly any damage) and Lloyd couldn't have been more helpful. He's a really nice guy.

All in all a great stay and we will return !

Fantastic stay with family of four

((Nearly)) everything was fantastic. We had a little issue with the (lack of) water pression in the shower, so that it was hard to get sand from the beach removed, and given the shortness of our stay of only 4 nights (half of which was big holidays over New Year's Eve), it couldn't be fixed during our stay, but surely quickly thereafter, as otherwise everything was fantastically set-up and managed. We would definetely return!

Fabulous Apartment!

This is our second but hopefully not our last stay at this superb apartment! We have spent five wonderful weeks at Westlook and enjoyed our stay as much as we did last January!

The apartment is so comfortable, well equipped, spacious and extremely private. The enormous veranda/ outdoor living space is exceptional with a view from which one never tires!

Our days were filled with swimming and snorkelling on the local beach, walking in the surrounding countryside and reading.

Because of the nearby Highway it is easy to get to the both Holetown and Speightstown for groceries and to visit other beaches if desired.(the local beach though is one of the best in the area though).

The apartment is close to the beach and the Highway and because of this we did not feel we needed to hire a car .

The apartment is maintained to a high standard and is managed extremely well by Rachel and cleaned twice a week by Kim.

This is one fabulous place to stay in Barbados!

There are few places in Barbados that have such a wonderful, panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea, and yet are so close to an unspoilt, white sandy beach. We feel very lucky to have found a unique apartment in such a ideal spot - on the hillside, making the most of the view and the breeze, yet only a short stroll for a swim in the warm Caribbean Sea - perfect!

Nearest Airport : Grantley Adams International (BGI) at 31 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Lower Carlton Grill & Bar at 500 Metres Nearest Restaurant : De Outback Bar and Grill at 500 Metres Nearest Beach : Reeds Bay at 500 Metres Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

The closest beach is the secluded Lower Carlton beach, just 5 minutes walk away, with shade, white sand & calm, clear water; sunbeds available for hire. There's no hotel so the beach is rarely busy - sunbeds and cold drinks available. Mullins beach is less than 10 mins drive & has sunbeds, watersports, bar & restaurant. Folkstone Marine Reserve has excellent snorkelling with equipment hire available (10 mins drive). There are many other beautiful beaches on the West Coast & elsewhere on the island, mostly accessible by car or bus.

Travel:

Grantley Adams Airport is approx 40 mins by car. (Map + directions provided on booking). Daily scheduled flights are operated from the UK by BA & Virgin.

Car hire is recommended as there is a lot to see (info provided on booking). Local buses run frequently along the West coast; they are cheap (~70p) & easy to use, with a good network throughout the island. Taxis are plentiful, especially in the towns; plenty of taxi numbers at the apartment. A taxi can be booked to meet you at the airport.

Distances:

The apartment is situated on the popular west 'Platinum Coast' between Holetown & Speightstown, both approx. a 10 min drive/20min bus ride. Bridgetown, the capital, is approx 30 min drive, or easily accessed via the regular bus service along the West Coast.

Nearest beach: 5 mins walk.

Nearest shop: 2 small stores 2 & 4 mins walk.

Nearest supermarket: 10 mins drive.

Nearest bar serving food: 15 mins walk

Nearest bus route: 5 mins walk to coastal services which run every 15-20 mins.

Further Details:

A taxi from the airport can be booked for you, and groceries can be supplied on arrival - please ask. 2 bars approx. 5 -15 mins walk; 1 of these serves food.

Get to know your neighbours at the local Bajan buffet and fish-fry every Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings, just 4 mins walk - Jefferson & Joy will make you very welcome. Local convenience stores 2 & 4 mins walk for the basics; supermarkets in Holetown + Speightstown, both less than 3 miles away. The famous Weston Fish Market is ~15 mins walk - get there at 10am when they open to get your pick of the fresh fish prepared for you as you want. Fresh fruit + veg stall, and 'rum shop' at the same location.

A small collection of DVDs, books & games is available at the apartment for your use. Baby sitting can be arranged.

Changeover Day:
Departure time is 11am if new guests arriving on the same day.
We endeavour not to have guests arriving and departing on the same day so that you can stay at the apartment as long as you need to fit in with flights and travel plans.

The refundable damages deposit of £100 is payable with the balance; this is against loss/damage & includes the mobile phone. It is fully refundable to careful guests once we receive confirmation from our property manager of no disasters.

A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required at the time of booking to reserve your dates. The balance is to be paid by 8 weeks before the start of your rental, together with £100 refundable damages deposit.
Prices are for 1- 2 adults (no extra charge for children under 18 years). 3rd adult: add £8/night, 4th adult: add £8/night

We love being away from the crowds and tourist developments, yet with the facilities of the West coast conveniently close by. We never tire of sitting on our terrace with a cool drink, watching the hummingbirds on the alamanda flowers below, or the monkeys in the trees nearby. Even in the hottest summer months the apartment is cooled by the breeze, and the sunsets over the Caribbean Sea can be spectacular at any time of year.

  • The entrance door to the front of the apartment has a decorative gate, allowing a cooling air-flow throughout whilst maintaining your security. A local mobile phone is provided. This apartment is strictly No Smoking; a smoke alarm, fire blanket & extinguisher are fitted for your safety. Water is heated by solar panels, with electric booster back up. Being on the first floor there is no necessity for window security bars spoiling your view! All windows can be opened & are fitted with curtains/blinds & fly-screens. Small portable barbeque for use in the garden or on the beach. Digital safe for your valuables. The apartment is decorated with original artwork including paintings, fabric wall hangings, pottery, metalwork, mosaic and batiks. For small children, please consider the open balustrades on our terrace. Outside: The front entrance has stairs upto the 2 first floor apartments only - see photo. There is a communal, landscaped garden at each side and at the rear, for use by the 4 apartments. The garden is small, but has tropical planting attracting humming birds and geckos. The grass area is just big enough to kick a football! 2 chairs for your sole use are in the garden, plus 4 folding, portable chairs and a small coolbox are available for taking to the beach. Car parking spaces at the front. There is a rotary clothes line in the garden, and a smaller, folding clothes airer for use in the apartment. Pegs supplied. All bed linen, bath towels, beach towels & kitchen linen are provided & included in the price. Maid service once weekly included (more often by arrangement).
