About the Owner

My name is John Mackay from the Isle of Skye! I am a native Gaelic speaker and a part time postie and also a time served panel beater/paint sprayer which I still try and do whenever I get an opportunity. I am also a keen hill-walker and try to get out on an amazing Skye walk at least once a week.

A perfect location with stunning views. Very homely, comfortable, and well thought through. The coal and peat fire, and all of the welcome gifts and special touches went a long way to what was a perfect break. Thank you to John who couldn't have done more. Looking forward to returning again soon.

Fabulous Cottage, Stunning Location!

  • 5 of 5

Both the cottage and interior are of a very high standard. Clean, tidy, and comfortable. A great base to go exploring and a comfortable retreat to relax. The coal fire and Wi-Fi are great additions and if asked would we stay here again?...... YES!

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a lovely week in Skye and the cottage was absolutely perfect. The location is fantastic - very central on the island and an easy drive to the bigger towns and main sights. The cottage has a remote feel and is very peaceful and quiet with beautiful walks nearby. The village of Carbost is not too far though and has a good shop, post office and pub (not to menton the Distillery and the freshest Oysters we have ever tried!) The cottage had everything we needed and much much more with lots of thoughtful touches which made for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Would love to return and would highly recommend.

From the Owner

As the Cottage is situated so closely to the Cuillins, it is ideal for the many wonderful walks that are nearby. The lack of street lighting makes for spectacular star gazing on a clear night!
