The cottage is situated in a quiet rural location but only one mile from the nearest hotel/restaurant and only three miles from the village of Carbost where there is an Inn and village shop and the famous Talisker Distillery. This partner has demonstrated and is committed to fast response times, the best rates, and a great guest experience.
My name is John Mackay from the Isle of Skye! I am a native Gaelic speaker and a part time postie and also a time served panel beater/paint sprayer which I still try and do whenever I get an opportunity. I am also a keen hill-walker and try to get out on an amazing Skye walk at least once a week.
I was brought up in the Cottage and I am the third generation of my family to have lived there. I love this area as it is where I grew up and I also love the peacefulness of the location.
As the Cottage is situated so closely to the Cuillins, it is ideal for the many wonderful walks that are nearby. The lack of street lighting makes for spectacular star gazing on a clear night!
'You have provided a high quality cottage, which has been a pleasure to stay in. Not only are the fixtures and fittings first class but you have added thoughtful extras. Well done! And thank you!' A and J Kay
"This was my first experience of self-catering which has been brilliant. The house was much much nicer than expected and very well equipped, everything had been thought of." Richard and Anne-Marie, July 2011
"The cottage is the best equipped we have ever stayed in and we stay in many each year all over Europe. A perfect place to relax away from everyday life." The Shaws, August 2011
"What a beautiful cottage. Everything you need and more. Beautiful scenery, really had a great time!" Stuart and Teresa, September 2011
"Thank you John and Katie for a lovely, comfortable and well equipped cottage. The goodies on arrival were much appreciated." Tracy & Chris May 2012
Lovely cottage in a very peaceful area. Very well equipped kitchen. The weather wasn't the best, but didn't keep us in. Skye is a beautiful place with fantastic scenery.
This lovely cottage/house is very private, clean, and extremely well equipped. You can drive the trotternish peninsula easily in a day from this location. Lots of walks, and hikes close by. The owner is very helpful.
We found the cottage to be extremely well appointed with everything we required. The owner was very friendly and helpful but in no way over attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fiscavaig.
A perfect location with stunning views. Very homely, comfortable, and well thought through. The coal and peat fire, and all of the welcome gifts and special touches went a long way to what was a perfect break. Thank you to John who couldn't have done more. Looking forward to returning again soon.
Both the cottage and interior are of a very high standard. Clean, tidy, and comfortable. A great base to go exploring and a comfortable retreat to relax. The coal fire and Wi-Fi are great additions and if asked would we stay here again?...... YES!
