Chalet Apartment in Samoens, Haute Savoie, French Alps - 2 Minutes Walk from Village Centre, 5 Minutes Walk from Ski Lift

This 2 bedroom apartment is 60m2 and is a 2 minute walk from the beautiful historic centre of Samoens which has a number of lovely restaurants, shops and bars. The gondola lift is a 5 minute walk or 1 minute on the ski bus that stops outside the apartment. The apartment also has a ski locker and underground parking.

About Tom Reynolds

We bought this apartment in 2004 when it was newly finished and have been travelling to the Alps regularly ever since; initially on adventure holidays to bike, walk, climb and ski and - now we have two small girls - to take advantage of the great facilities that Samoens has to offer for all ages.

Unfortunately, work gets in the way of us spending as much time as we'd like there, so we rent it out to others, many of whom haven't been to Samoens before. The majority of visitors keep returning because it's in a great central spot and Samoens is a beautiful medieval village that is bustling all year round.

We hope you choose to stay here and enjoy it as much as we do!

This is a very well located and appointed apartment a short stroll or bus to the main Gondola. Two minutes from centre of town and main shops and bars but has the benefit of its own supermarket right downstairs! Would recommend and Tom very easy to deal with. Many thanks.

Nice cosy spot with good access to the town and the main ski lift

We stayed over Christmas in this apartment. It's well located and the proximity to the town and the Sherpa Supermarket downstairs are very convenient. The place itself is nice, cosy and modern, a good base for other activities (of which there are many in Samoens). Would definitely recommend to others.

Another lovely visit

We always feel at home here. Dealing with Tom is great and reliable. The apartment is very well equipped and very clean. All the info about the village is really helpful and just what is needed. We have been visiting Samoans and staying at Tom' s place for many years and it' s always great. One year our Canadian friends stayed there and we're very impressed and also delighted with the apartment.

Great property with all the essentials.

A good size property for 4 people. Loads of parking space for large cars in the underground car park. Great location by the town square and not far from the ski lifts, the main reason we booked the property. Ideally set up for self catering with all the kitchen essentials you may need and more. Well looked after and nice and clean when we arrived, we would definitely stay here again.

Great apartment in lovely village.

Great apartment, well equipped, comfortable and clean. Good customer service from owners, they gave us lots of information about Samoens and ideas for things to do which was very useful. The property is well situated only a few minutes walk from village centre and with the Sherpa supermarket downstairs. Samoens is beautiful with so much to do and breathtaking scenery, kids loved the high ropes, swimming, cable car rides and ice creams! Further afield the luge at Morzine is fun. Annecy, Chamonix and Yvoire are worth a visit. Would certainly recommend a visit in the summer.

Special interest holidays:

In summer, Samoens offers a huge array of activities including walking, climbing, mountaineering, mountain biking (the lifts take bikes in July/Aug), horse riding, via ferrata, paragliding, golf, white water rafting, canoeing, hydrospeed, archery and fishing. The village also has an outdoor swimming pool complex, tennis courts, a lake with beach and an adventure play ground with high wires and canopy walks.

For walkers, there are a number of mountain refuges and routes over into the Portes du Soleil and Mont Blanc ranges. Samoens is an excellent base for a number of spectacular walks.

Travel:

Geneva airport is 1 hour. Hire cars can be easily booked and picked up from the airport or transfers can be arranged. There is also a bus service from the airport to Samoens.

Distances:

The apartment is a 2 minute walk from Samoens village centre.

Sixt Fer a Cheval in the beautiful national park with several walks and waterfalls is a 10 minute drive.

Les Gets and Morzine in the Portes du Soleil range are 30 mins drive.

Annecy, Chamonix and Vichy are an hour's drive away.

Further Details:

Samoens has a number of very good shops including leisure hire shops (ski, bikes etc), banks and supermarkets. There is a very good children's nursery next to the ice rink.

The square has a regular market and botanical garden. A larger market selling local produce, arts and crafts comes to the village on Wednesdays. There is a small supermarket (Sherpa) in the base of the chalet.
