My husband Tom and I came to live it Faysselle in 1999. We bought in 1998, with the intention of moving from the UK in 2002, but didn't last that long. Every time we left the place, we found it so much harder to return to the hustle and bustle of South East England and eventually decided to bring forward our retirement plans to make the most of living in such lovely surroundings. It was the best move we could ever have made and our life here was idyllic.
Sadly, Tom passed away in October 2015, but I want to carry on offering guests the chance to have a great holiday in this wonderful place.
We have enjoyed meeting guests from all over the world, many of whom return time and again, and have become good friends.

When I was young, I was lucky enough to be taken on camping holidays every year to France and have loved the country ever since. From about the age of 8, I told my parents that when I grew up I was going to live in France, marry a rich French man and have a Pyrennean Mountain dog. Well, one out of three ain't bad and I have got two golden retrievers instead! Tom and I had come to the Dordogne on a holiday once, and although we loved the countryside, we couldn't stand the hordes of people and traffic. We then came to this area only 1.5 hours to the south, and immediately felt we could make a home here. Rolling countryside, farms tucked away down long driveways, and farmers still using their tractors from yesteryear. It is surely rural France at its best.
