Absolutely Fantastic

Just spent a wonderful four night stay over Easter 2017 at Tweed Rig (we travelled there from Hull, Yorkshire) - 12 adults, 3 children and 3 dogs. From the moment I made the first enquiry to the time we left, the owner and her team couldn't have been more helpful. The house is really spacious, spotlessly clean and is equipped with everything you need. Melrose is only a 15 minute walk away, nice shops and friendly pubs and eating places. We will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.

Wonderful situation on hill above Gattonside

Attractive, modern and very spacious property with extensive and comfortable living/dining area with kitchen at one end which was well-equipped with plenty of cutlery, dishes and utensils for our party of 10. Plenty of space in the fridge/freezer, modern cooker and dishwasher.

Rooms and bathrooms all nicely decorated and furnished and all very clean. Plenty of towels and bedding. We felt that much thought had been put into the possible requirements of a large number of guests and there was plenty to entertain the younger members of our group.

We all enjoyed sitting out on the balcony which runs the entire length of the house and has plenty of seating. The views across the Tweed Valley are magnificent.

We all agreed a return visit was definitely necessary!

There are good places to eat within walking distance such as The Hoebridge Inn in Gattonside and not far from facilities in Melrose. Many great walks close by.

Fantastic

Cannot reccomend Tweedrig enough. Right from the first time I enquired about the property the owners couldn't have been more helpful. Everything was so simple to arrange. Upon arriving the house was just brilliant. It was really clean and well put together. It has everything you need for a getaway. Unlike most self catering places it was so well equipt with everything.

The views from tweedrig are fantastic. It's great for an option of chilling out but also so close to gala and Melrose if you wish to venture out.

Would reccomend to anyone and would go back

Fantastic

15 of us stayed 3 nights for my 40th. House has everything you need, spacious and well equipped. We will definitely be back. The Hoebridge is close and a superb restaurant, we also got a Sainsbury delivery on the first day and a Chinese delivered which was ideal.

Stunning!!!

We spent a long weekend with our family (8 adults in total) at Tweed Rig and had such a fabulous, relaxing time. The house was stunning, very clean, with lovely decor and extremely well equipped in all the rooms (especially the kitchen). The layout of the kitchen/dining/living space meant that we could all be together yet not feel cramped at all, and the cooks could participate fully in all the fun! Bedrooms were very comfortable and it was great for everyone to have their own en-suite. And then there were the views ................ just absoutely gorgeous, even in the pouring rain.. The location of Tweed Rig makes the most of the beautiful countryside and the peaceful surroundings. All-in-all, no complaints and nothing but praise for this beautiful holiday home. And Jean was so accommodating in arranging an early entry and late departure so that we could make the most of our long weekend - thank you!!

Light, bright house

Ten of us spent a great week in this lovely house. The huge living space (kitchen/dining room/lounge) is ideal for a large group and everyone could be included - plenty of space to relax, cook and dine. The house was spotlessly clean and well-prepared for our arrival. The kitchen is adequately equipped for a large group.

We had expected to have access to six bedrooms but discovered that the bunk beds are situated in a doorless area ('gallery') at the top of a staircase which limited privacy. Also, the family room on the ground floor does not have a door. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the house for large groups. Added treat of being able to sit in the sunshine on the balcony at the end of September, admiring the beautiful view!

There are plenty of places to visit in the area (Melrose Abbey, Dawyck Botanical Garden, Mr Smail's Printing Works in Innerleithen, gardens at Floors Castle, and the gallery and walks around Harestanes especially) and good walks from the house.
