This exquisite three bedroom apartment is constructed round the open stairwell of a 17th century building, making it especially light and airy. On the second (top) floor, it has no neighbours above it making it also wonderfully quiet. Two full bathrooms, one with bath and one with shower, roomy kitchen with all appliances. The flat is located in the ancient Calatrava district of the old walled city, and the foundations of the building are said to go back to Roman times. The dining room and the two main bedrooms look out onto a garden below, which can be identified on Moorish maps from the 9th century. This is a second home and boasts the evidence of the loving do-it-yourselfery typical of a well used holiday dwelling.

Notes on accommodation: This flat is childproof, but since the kitchen and the entrance have French windows that give onto the stairwell, we like to advise parents that children ought not to climb the railings across these windows. These are the same height as any standard balcony railing and are at least as secure as any such railing. Owing to cross ventilation, the flat is cool in summer, and is helped in this by room fans. Roofs have been recently insulated and re-tiled, making the flat easy to heat in winter. Outside: The flat has a 15 sq m private terrace one flight up, with views across the rooftops to the spires of several of the ancient city's Renaissance and Gothic churches. Utility Room: Iron, ironing board, hair dryer, vacuum cleaner, mops and brooms. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are supplied and changed once a week. Flat is cleaned before guests arrive. We ask that you bring your own beach towels, as the bath and hand towels supplied are not for use on the beach. Other: The other rooms, the vestibule with armchairs and tables and the dining room which seats 8 with stunning window over ancient garden, complete the living rooms.
